@RodConvoy1987 Thats true. They did go to them. However, Sega decided after all this time, that they should go back to the routes of Sonic and continue the Saga from Sonic 3 and Knuckles. As to the full reason im not sure.

@allhailkingarthur Jun Senoue worked a bit on sonic 3 and knuckles, which was MOSTLY composed by Michael Jackson's team of writers. The only really good soundtrack he did on his own was Sonic Adventure 1. It's been pap ever since. Thing is, i'm sure he IS capable of much better music, but we're in a dumbed down culture with no patience for creativity in songwriting anymore. it's a different world than when sonic 3 came out.

i was able to tolerate act 1, since it was decent even if it could have been better arranged (as geckoyamori proved). this is just disappointing. where are the upbeat rhythms of sonic 2 or the rich textures and diverse melodies of sonic 3? you don't even need to go 16bit to recreate any of those things.

i seriously hope the sound team puts more effort into the music from now on. this sounds like it was conceived and produced in under an hour.

but it's not a 16 bit system anymore. they can use real instruments. when mario games come out now it's all improved sound...nobody bitches. they have a lot of the same basic melodies and the sound quality is a lot crisper now. i think it's a great thing. if the series NEVER evolved....it's only be for young people. they need to make changes in order to have a different game.
