@BrianAtene101 - oops, maybe I've loved it since '06 then. And I think I DID subscribe - a few weeks ago on the strength of the Kodachrome Cowboy stuff. Very good stuff.
Dude, is this real? If so, you are amazing! What have you done with your life? What is your career? Do you still have the puppy you won for 50 cents? The fans NEED to know!!
Um. Ah. You're looking at a 3 year old video. I've had several YouTube Channels since the Kubrick video went viral. All of which I deleted. My Wikipedia entry has also been deleted. After the Kubrick viral thing I attempted several channels but I am uncomfortable with people and I jetisoned these YouTubes. I have had rather a poor life and I've been ill treated by many. Its been disappointment and depression for me. There is a cult following on Atene, though, and videos may follow. Watch. Wait.
Sounds cool. You seem like a groovy chick and you have the same interest as myself in neat horror films. What's your favorite "Frankenstein" flick? "Bride"? Lugosi played The Monster only once and much of his performance fell on the cutting room floor. The Monster in "Ghost" is supposed to be blind throughout most of the picture; which is the way Lugosi played it: but the studio cut these particular scenes. Critics ironically labeled Lugosi as wooden when compared to Karloff but this is unfair.
Thanks for replying to my comment and calling me a groovy chick. I really don't know if I can pick a fav. Frankenstein film. I like the original Frankenstein because it is just such a classic and Dwight Frye who is also a fav. actor of mine plays Fritz in it. Also the Ghost of Frankenstein is great because of the wonderful performace by Bela Lugosi as Ygor, it is probably one of his best performances in film.
P.S. Keep making videos!!!
...Do you think the new Star Trek film will be good?
Thanks for saying I was groovy and replying. Idk what my fav. Frankenstein film is cause they are all great in different ways. I love Frankenstein cause Dwight Frye is one of my fav. actors and I love him as Fritz. Also The Ghost is great cause Bela Lugosi plays Ygor, which is one of his best performances on screen. I wish they had recodings of Bela on stage..that would be amazing to see.
P.S. What do you think about the new Star Trek film? I hope they don't make us old school trekkies mad.
Thanks for your comments. I must first correct my trivia. Lugosi played The Monster in "Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman". Footage of Lugosi speaking and references to The Monster being blind were cut by the studio. Yes. I agree that Lugosi's Ygor character in the films is a wonderful creation. Ironically, he turned the part of The Monster down in the original film because The Monster was mute in the script and Lugosi was famous for his voice. The new Trek film looks like Trek for the Gaming Age.
Is Crispin Clover the guy who plays Lional Luthor on "Smallville"? or the freaky kid from "River's Edge" and the "Willard" remake? (The "Smallville" guy would be an easier impression.) A user named "jerryfilm" posted the original viral video. He yanked it (I suppose) because of copyright issues. Good news, though, MTV just licensed it for broadcast on a new cartoon and they located a nice copy of it for me. It'll be reposted in it's original form and in a "Special Edition" with commentary.
Awesome that I'm posting a commentary Special Edition? Or, awesome that you've just seen this video for the first time? (I assume its the former, not the latter. Since, you've got to be my biggest fan. On that note I'm sorry there've been no new videos lately, but I'm having a tough time of things. It'll be at least 6 or 7 weeks before anything new appears. Thanks for your support, Jackie. New stuff will appear this summer.
Crispin Glover is the freaky guy from "River's Edge" and the "Willard" remake, yes. He is most famous for playing George McFly in "Back To The Future" and doing an infamous, thoroughly nonsensical appearance on Letterman in 1987. If you've never seen it before, YOU MUST. It is one of the most powerfully awkward things ever created. I figured you could do Glover because he's a looney nerdball.
Sorry to hear that you're having a shitty time, Brian. But due to the economy most of us are.
Overacting elevated to superpower-like levels. Every time this video is played William Shatner stops whatever he's doing and cocks his head like a dog tuning in to a far off whistle. Then he massages his temples with his Emmys and takes a nap.
I'm not exactly comprehending a complement on this comment; but I think, perhaps, it does include one. I certainly love William Shatner. Outdoing Shat, though? Heavens indeed! He's a speedy Warp 8 to my very slow Warp 1.
My old water heater sprung several leaks at 10 last night, so my wife and I were forced to do frantic damage control. I sent my wife to bed at midnight so she could get some sleep for work tomorrow. I'm staying up all night emptying a pair of dixie cups of drain water every few minutes until the plumber arrives at 8am. I have "Rio Bravo" on with the commentary track to keep me awake. And I have my laptop.
I agree. Mrs. Mosley's two favorite films are "The Quiet Man" and "His Girl Friday" and I've come love them both.
And though I didn't watch any of your videos that night, they aren't what I'd call an endurance test. You're an odd duck, but you are entertainingly odd. You don't give yourself enough credit, Brian.
This video went viral for good reason. It was exciting to see that the 23 years had not extinguished your many gifts, only seasoned and enhanced them. Rock on.
I LOVE this video. Loved it in '08, adore it now. So great to see it - and you, Brian - again.

That sounds terrible! I'm sorry you've had a rough time, hopefully things get better for you. If it's any consolation, I think you're awesome! :D

Well, if I sell and a script it gets made, you're getting cast for a part. You're brilliant.

Incidentaly, Brian, I'm glad you found "Atene Returns" again. It's one of your best. The Moriarity and Michael Curtiz bits get me every time.
I happened to catch Laura Linney on "Inside the Actor's Studio" a week ago and she actually mentioned John Stix (and with some fondness).
