  • Pre workout perfect thing to take (i know as i've tryed alot of things) One black coffee one small bannana. Done. and wont get cheaper

  • You rock Will! Keep doing what your doing, its good to have someone who actually knows there stuff, and be able to separate the good from the crap for us!

  • where do you get your stuff in this video?

  • What do you think about Driven Sports Craze? It's the new big pre-workout now.

  • instead of tyrosine - what about a scoop of BCAA? also, what about creatine?

  • @Woolfy74 no, and no. Especially creatine has nothing to do in a preworkout

  • @MusixPro4u creatine is in 90% of preworkouts bro. Read labels, Monohydrate creatine (more then likely about 1000-2500 mg)

  • I just smoke a bowl of Meth as my preworkout lol

  • @bigloudogy26 not funny

  • @bigloudogy26 Alpha as phuck

  • Hehehe, roll my own, I see what you did there.

No kidding, could you do a video on cannabis and muscle building/fitness/health effects?

Love your videos man, keep it up!

  • "Then you're a big fat pussy"

"And maybe you should take up golf"

    LMFAO!!!!!

  • couple of bananas and some soy milk =)

  • There's always going to be people that are against the current supplements. All I know is that White Flood gets me pumped up during my workout, gives me energy and focus so why do I need studies when I know it works for me. This video is very opinionated.

  • @BendTheIron man I agree I have tried alot of sutf and that white flood really did the trick.. but I also kinda agree with will sometimes ill just wake up have a lil coffee and hit the gym

  • @BendTheIron man I agree I have tried alot of stuff and that white flood really did the trick.. but I also kinda agree with will sometimes ill just wake up have a lil coffee and hit the gym

  • Golf! lol well said

  • wow, youre obviously fucking jacked! i will always go to YOU for advice on strength and bodybuilding!

  • Ok will i have a question thats been bothering me. And it might save me some money. This guy on youtube Lui Marco. YOu might know him. He swears on BCAAs. Yes i know they are helpful. But he takes the powder form and he takes a seperate supplement Hica-max and also has Leucine in powder form. What i want to know, Is it that important to have all of these bcaas? I take whey protein "Optimum Nutrition" with bcaas and I take "Optimum Nutritions- Superior Amino tabs" Is this enough?

  • @drummking15 Look p Dr.Layne Norton, he did extensive research on this topic.

  • A simple cup of green tea I've been finding does the trick for me.

  • i just take a cup of black coffee and a banana. great pre workout

  • Can I mix these supplements into a cup of coffee? Or would the warm water have a negative effect?

  • Is the tyrosine from animal products? (I've honestly never bothered with pre-workout stuff except ECA stacks.)

  • just smoke some weed

  • Although i do appreciate that its almost impossible to do 5 day a weak weight training without having 1 sort of suplement (portein shake, creatine etc..)

Because it makes sense you do need that lil extra help in recovery...

But isnt it going a little bit too far when ppl take 4/5 different suplements a day?

And or doing cocktail mixes of suplements???

Its easy if you want muscle size cram in 3500 calories a day, 180 grams protein keeping it under 70 g of fat..

  • @Dcavolli Its far from impossible...

  • Hi Will!

Thanks foe the info. Caffeine do works but I have heard it also raises cortisol very high which is counter productive to muscle gain. Any ideas??

    Cheers

  • I love this.. especially the "you are a big fat pusy"

my pre workout is a strong cup of coffee with a short scoop of whey protein a little bit of creamer.. throw it in a cup with ice shake it and i'm good to go

  • can you tell me why didnt you put L-Arginine and what you think of L-Ornithine ?

  • Can I add a few gs if THC?

  • "If you cant get to the gym without your preworkout drink, your a big fat pussy" THat is an excellent quote and this was an excellent video. Thanks a ton!

  • is it safe to take a whole teaspoon of Acetyl-L-Carnitine... i have the one from primaforce and it says dont exceed 1500mg a day.

  • you forgot to add 1,3 dimethylamylamine.

  • @rgmcall

No i didn't. Vid following this one was dedicated to exactly that topic. Personally (see comments in other vid) I would not mix it with other CNS stimulants. You can if you wish...

  • @willbrink ok. thanks for the videos you have alot of interesting topics.keep it up.

  • @rgmcall It doesn't do much.

  • hey brink I read ur articles in muscle insider magazine... keep up the great work. Just a suggestion, you should make a video on ur thoughts on d-aspartic acid "DAA".. its received alot of attention with its studies proving it raises testosterone by 37% in 12 days.

  • @davergaver Exactly you don't want to do that smart one

  • Do you play golf ?

  • Will Brink is Zeus. Hey Will, do you think Beta Alanine is effective with one dose and just on pre workout days alone? It's hard to find any data on it being used as only a pre workout because most studies used it consistently for weeks or months. Does it have to be used consistently?

  • @theUSER101

Spreading the dose out probably has has much to do with avoiding the flushing effect as it does effects on endurance/performance per se. I'm too busy/lazy to be spreading it out all day. I may not be maximizing it's potential by doing it that way, but not going to worry about that one.

  • you're a big phat phussy lol..... I love that part

  • @motiv8td

    I couldn't resist. I'm sure I offended someone already...

  • @willbrink That was freaking amazing... Thank you for the knowledge.

  • I use mio, aspartame is some bad stuff, check out some of the research on it.

  • @saltiestsaltine

Research is what I do for a living. I don't fear aspartame...

  • Does your crystal light contain aspartame?

  • @saltiestsaltine

It does. If you wish to avoid synthetic sweeteners you could use something else for flavoring to your own tastes.

  • You could add bcaa which I find useful for energy.

  • I need to check out the Fein.

  • @01100111000

Go to my web site, Article linked below vid with info and URL to Fein.

  • Great video Will,

Clear and to the point information on what supplements have scientific backup.

My custom pre-workout combo is pretty much the the same.

  • i have noticed you are not using any carbohydrates in that drink, would appreciate if you explained the reasoning behind that choice.

  • @InfindecimalSlice

One can add some carbs for sure, but my last meal is probably 60-90 mins before I workout, and short intense workouts (vs long endurance oriented stuff) does not impact glycogen storage to the point one really requires carbs per se, but some variables exist, such as when you had you last meal, total cals and total carbs, etc, etc, This formula is to give an alternative to the pre workout energy drinks specifically.

  • @willbrink That's interesting, I am combining my aerobic workout with my weight training, (10 mins b4 at 12km/h, +20 mins after at 12km/h -intervals). And sometimes if my day had been low on carbs up to that point it tires me about a bit (feeling slightly feint).. I am not sure if I should change my meal timing or just separate my cardio from my weight training.

  • The cheapest and best pre-workout is an ECA stack. Ephedrine, caffeine, and aspirin.

25mg bronkaid (one pill that contains ephedrine), 200mg caffeine (usually thats a standard one pill size), and 1 aspirin (probably could take half a regular size one, baby size one, or none at all and you will still get huge amounts of energy)

  • Hey Will,

Could you use Emergen-C instead of Crystal Light? Where do you buy those caffeine packets? Can't find them online. Thanks!

  • @cali977

Same vid on my site has link to article for Fein.

  • where can i buy some crack?

  • Excellent info as always!!

  • What about mixing creatine with the beta -alanine for their duo effect? I've always liked it

  • Great info!

  • I have a couple of questions...

    1) What is your view about GPLC ?

    2) I often feel worse with Caffeine based pre-workout formulas, is it just me? or is this normal?

  • @chris0tube

I think GPLC is interesting stuff with some good data, It's also expensive and I'd like to see a head to head study with ALC before I personally was to spend money on it. Worse with caffeine? Not sure on that one. Not everyone like the effects of caffeine.

  • @willbrink Thanks for your reply.

With respect to Caffeine based pre-workout formulas, yeah, I guess I am one of those who doesn't like the effects of it - I actually feel less energy (lethargic) if that makes sense?

  • big fat pussy

    :P

  • Good sh*t Will. You should get commission on all the money you save me and my friends.

  • @marcosmv9

If you get my Body Building Revealed program, you will save MUCH more money, and i will get a commission! Just sayin'....

  • the best is fruits before a workout

  • Will Brink is God!

  • @Domenic182

I'd be happy with minor deity :)

  • @will brink wat do you think about 1,3 dimethylamylamine???is it worth adding ???as theres a lot of buzz..

  • @hiranjyot

That would be one of the controversial ingredients I mentioned in the vid and not something I would use personally.

  • @willbrink ty for ur reply....

  • big fat pussy

  • maybe adding some citrulline malate and you are set with a monster pre workout

  • @peruvianiron proven ineffective. suffers the same fate of Arginine.

  • @peruvianiron

I have used citruline, and didn't notice any differences. The data on citruline is also lack luster at best. Might be worth a try, but once I ran out, didn't get any more.

  • I am on a high protien low carb diet and I am looking for a good prtien shake to go with my workout. Waht I am looking for is zero carb and zero sugar but it needs to taste good. What would you recommend?

  • @deepwater1974 isoflex is good

  • "if you can get to the gym, and get a decent workout, without your specialized pre-workout drink, YOUR A BIG FAT PUSSY". Hell yeah. Never used a pre-workout in my life, never needed one.

  • @LTMagic21 No one needs one. However caffeine and pre workouts have been proven to boost performance over and over again.

  • Will what are your thoughts on D-Aspartic acid? Do you think its worth trying out and are there any side effects?

  • Could you just swallow a caffeine pill instead of adding the powdered version into the drink?

  • @kjb86

Yes, of course you can use a caff pill if you want to. I prefer the powder.

  • approximately what does it coast your per drink? one of the things i look at when buying preworkouts is how much i'm paying per use and being a college student price matters a lot.

    thanks for making this video!

  • @AdverbAdjective

Took me a while to decide how I wanted to approach the topic. Lots of people will not be happy with my assessment...

  • @AdverbAdjective

Have not been using it as the quality of the data vs cost does not make it worth using at this time in my view,

  • could you please tell me where you purchase the caffeine packets? and also you suggest for creatine to be taken post-workout correct?? thanks - as always your the best

  • @repulsivegoon

See article "what you need to know about caffeine" on the BrinkZone for URL and info on that caffeine product

  • Curious...

    - what does the tyrosine do for you exactly?

    - why no taurine or creatine (I realize creatine timing doesn't matter, but it just seems convenient to add it to a pre-workout)?

    - Also, loved the "big, fat pussy" line.

  • @KDakota630

Tryosine has a lot of interesting effects, can't cover here. Taurine looks good on paper for sure, but have not experimented with it in large doses. I do cover it in Body Building Revealed BTW....creatine may slow gastric empty rates, and timing not essential, so I generally add ti post workout drinks.
