A great scene - after so much of the film being based around flashbacks, it was all the more powerful to simply focus of Smiley as he tells the story.
Good Lord. That knocked the wind right out of me! By the end I actually had tears in my eyes and I haven't even seen this yet! Gary had better get that Oscar.
Hauntingly beautiful scene. Gary Oldman's act is a masterpiece.
