i did somthin like this in the GB color version of the game...i think it was pokemon blue...w/e it involved corruptin my data while saveing, swam around some island and got that same exact glitchy pixel pokemon he found at the beginning, caught it and the i could find a lvl 264 neederan but when ya got exp it went down to lvl 100 :( cant fully remember

It couldn't have been lv264, because the physical limit of a byte of data is 255. After EXP, it goes back to 100, but after rare candies it would hit 255 and then sprang back to 0.
