  • Nah it's not really that good for you mate , Firstly you cooked the be jesus out of the garlic and secondly you got enough oil in that to drown a whale. Don't even bother trying to cook real italian if you don't know shit aye.

  • wanna put some more oil in that? fuck me

  • are you secretly Seth Rogen?

  • Super delicious dish, and hey, as a bonus, no vampire will be interested to suck your blood lol

  • Eating this right now.

  • it wasnt gud :( .. i dont no hw 2 cook :(

  • Oh, my God....I think I love you.

  • = the garlic it would be great.

  • Seth Rogen is that you?

  • I've been looking for a new pasta recipe to try. I will definitely have this the next time I make spaghetti!!!

  • I pissed my pants when you said "Chef John with..... Laryngitis" lol

  • Comment removed

  • I LITERALLY had an orgasm by watching chef John tossing the spaghetti....

  • @gtrscarlet it's ALL ON HIS WEBSITE. You took the time to comment but not to read the info. below the video...SheesH. Most chefs posting videos on here these days do it this way. You're losing out majorly by passing his videos up so quickly. He's got quite the following - and with good reason.

  • @gtrscarlet Six cloves of sliced garlic, 1/4 cup of chopped italian parsley, I could see it's a half cup of oil, since he fills half of a one cup container. Only thing in question is the spaghetti. It looked like a half pound to me, but I'm sure something close would work.

  • @gtrscarlet yeah your comment totally deserves the thumbs down. thanks for reminding me.

  • sorry did you say rinse the spaghetti?

  • @taring9 NOOOO don't do it!! I beg you! Don't rise the spaghettiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • @taring9 SLAP! You no rinse the spaghetti! :D

  • so much oil makes it feel good in your mouth.

I would rinse spaghetti in cold water, drain it well and then add only olive oil, sea salt and white pepper to it. good spaghetti tastes also very good when cold.

  • @Kreavlin do not rinse pasta! ever! mkay? :3

  • @guguigugu come on.. people. i do whatever i like.. cooking should not be dogmatic.

  • Sexy voice!!

  • your voice makes my throat feel sore D: poor thing but the dish looks yum :3

  • laryngitis looks delish!

  • Will it taste the same if I don't use Italian parsley??

  • Yum. That looks so good!

  • i was about to close this tab when he said laryngitist lol

  • thats my recipe

  • my goodness

  • I got this is my recommended videos and have no idea why.

    Oh well.

    FOOD.

  • I never thought of doing that... i jumped when u put the water in the oil.. i was expecting a splash

  • my parents chop the garlic just sayin

  • Your voice is sexy! Thanks for the recipe!

  • Thank you for the recipe. I made the spaghetti aglio e olio today, using ur recipe, and all my family members love it! :) and it is easy to make. thank you for the tips as well<3

  • this looks soo yummy, cant wait to try! love ur teaching method, so simple :)

  • I'm also curious about HamburgerExplosion's question, as well as if we should salt the water we boil the pasta in.

  • how many people does the ingredients listed serve?

  • I was really cautious about adding water to hot oil, but it turned out to be a recipe for good sauce, not for fire and face disfigurement. I guess it's okay to add hot water to hot oil?

  • @HamburgerExplosion my guess is that b/c the temp of the oil is relatively low and the ratio of water to oil is so high, the oil cools too fast to splatter

  • Italians also add chili pepper and it become aglio olio and peperoncino, goodness gracious it tastes like Heaven. I suggest you try.

  • All those people that say they cant afford to eat well should watch Johns videos,i mean how much would that cost to make, not a lot and very delicious !!

  • Soooo good. I made this for a whole week straight and ate it every day. It's delicious the way it is; I added some crumpled bacon on mine and it was sublime (:

  • I bow down to carbs, olive oil and cheese. Simplicity is a beautiful thing.

  • Tastes even better with some grated bottarga or some bacon.

    Thanks Chef John!

  • MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM SO YUMMY LOOKING O.o

  • this is so great made it last night, make my # 9 spaghetti every thing fresh

so good nice loaf of italain bread mmmmm enjoy

  • THIS is lunch !!!!! Never rinse & neat tip placing spaghetti water into garlic infused oil !!!

  • I'm so cooking this like ... right now!!! me hungrehhh....

  • You are very inspiring!

  • I WILL RINSE MY SPAAAGGEEEHHTIIII

  • it's easy, looks tasty but too much oil dammit!!!

  • so much oil man

  • that looks so dank

  • why water?

  • @i8hy6e3 to stop the frying process first, and second, the starch in the water helps bringing the sauce together, you get a more "creamy" texture

  • @kingdingelingism this pasta was not my taste.. it was disgusting.. from now, I don't like creams..

  • Hmm... Sorry, I'm not sure. Should I rinse the spaghetti?!

    Great recipe :D

  • @OpheliaGames Never rinse your spaghetti. Please. Do not. Rinse. Your. Spaghetti.

  • @BlackKoreanBoy32 Because?

  • @RealArcalian because you need the starch that coats it to bind each strand with the sauce. This is also why you finish pasta with a bit of the pasta water.

  • @drnima i don't like pasta sauce but your point makes sense. i have noticed some better spaghetti makers have deliberately given their spaghetti a coarsely polished matte surface, which makes them easy to bind with sauces or whatever. Cheaper spaghetti have very shiny surfaces and they don't tastes as good.

  • @OpheliaGames LoL !!

  • you need to be on the food network channel

  • I usually fry my garlic and chilli together

  • Yumm..this looks so good. I think I will add a red chilli too but not a Scotch Bonnet as @eternalcrumpet suggested..way too hot for me :)

  • you have burnt the Garlic. Italians never eat it like that.

  • @nowadazeband No he hasn't .___.

  • Just made this dish. It came out so great and super easy. I now have a replacement for Ramen! I used cayenne instead of red pepper flakes though.

  • i didn't know seth organ could cook!

  • So, do I rinse the spaghetti? lol! Looks yummy! Going to make this soon, thanks!!

  • this dish is made so much better with just a bit of chopped scotch bonnet added.

  • im going to try this eventually.

  • i'm currently eating this !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is awesome especially for a poor student like me. Thank you!

  • Just made this for my lunch. So simple but delicious!

  • Mmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!

  • so simple yet so craving!

  • i'm going to rinse my spaghetti now :D

jking, but srly, this recipe looks great x) can't wait to try it out!

  • i tried this myself and it tasted very, very.....baaaaad :( must've missed something or i just didn't like it

  • I think I'm gonna go rinse my spaghetti...

  • This is one of my favorite dishes to make. So simple and easy. It's really grate with some feta cheese!

  • The pasta was awesome. This guy sounds like Seth Rogen.

  • im eating this right now :)

  • DO NOT RINSE YOUR SPAGHETTI

  • i love how u add a sense of humor in this video, i enjoyed it!

  • Go cook the garlic with butter, then oil, then pasta - hmm yum!

  • so super easy and yummy!

  • carb heaven

  • @themonstera rofl, well.. this one, not really. but all his other stuff. olive oil? no you wont have probs with high carb with that. thats plant oil, not meat fat.

  • The only thing "ripped" about this shoga-idiot is the stub off his govt check. great troller though....

  • Wow. you are really are stupid fuck, aren't you?

  • @iqmygift2u u a chef?

  • yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm that is all

  • hi, how much time does this take to make?

  • Mmmm A SHIT TON (like $5-10) of olive oil and white flour pasta mmmmm fat ass diabetes!!!! mmmmmm. I will love the day I will have to watch my diet and take insulin shots 3x a day in the leg.. mmmmmm

  • @ShogaNinja moron, if you eat too much chocolates, ice-cream and sweets then you'll highly likely be prone to diabetes. Olive oil and garlic instead has great health benefits. It doesnt matter really how much olive oil u use in cooking, whether a tablespoon or a cup or two, its good for you.

  • @remyrickymartin

White (enriched bleached) flour, you douche. It gives you diabetes. It burns up so fast it turns to glucose and insulin is released and stored as fat. Don't try to lecture me on food or eating. I am vegan. I know more about nutrition than you can easily imagine. All I'm getting at is that this guy makes unhealthy dishes, regardless of what they taste like. We don't need another Paula Deen incident to prove me right do we?

  • @ShogaNinja Mai ascoltare un idiota. translation: never listen to an idiot. Your a 100%, non meat eating, grass chomping idiot. Pasta comes in many varieties.... mine is a combination of lentil, flax and drum semolina. top knotch Olive oil with Garlic, has more heath benefits than I could ever name here. Now, get your birkinstocks (with blue wool socks of course) , go eat a pine cone, and go occupy something in leftist la la land, and leave the blood drenched meat eaters alone. ingannare.

  • @iqmygift2u

Right. and I am sure he's using quinoa pasta in the video. Wake the fuck up. Chefs cook shit that is terrible for you. Eat a dick. How do you say that in Italian? Mangia un pene? Have fun dying of heart disease, diabetes, or cancer.

  • @ShogaNinja

-"I am vegan. I know more about nutrition than you can easily imagine."

-"I am vegan. I know more about nutrition"

    -"I am vegan."

So what your saying is, because of your extensive knowledge of food nutritions, you choose to not take in red meat which is the best source of 5 types of essential nutrients.

aside from that red meat also provides iron, zinc, omega-3, B vitamins and protein.

I eat that kind of stuff all the time and I can bet you that im healthier than you.

  • @UDavidT

Lol. I'm ripped now and in the best shape of my life. I could run a marathon. You forgot to mention the anti-biotics and the plethora of hormones and other unmentionable additives in red meat. Have fun with that when you have heart disease later in life, if not colon cancer. It's generally accepted that getting your protein from plant sources is healthier than eating meat. I can show you a list of vegan Olympic athletes if you like.

  • @ShogaNinja

I do agree with you on that point most super markets sell the drugged up meats.

But I eat organic foods, which doesn't really contain any of that trash.

also please state your source for what you claimed to be "generally accepted", it might actually just be a case of source bias.

Also I'm a MMA practitioner, I have no problems running, heavy lifting, fighting. But whatever, everybody online is a super robotic karate master anyway. So no point delving deeper into this.

  • @UDavidT

Here's a good overview. If you need more I can recommend a large number of books.

    h t t p : / / w w w . jivdaya . org / vegetarian_diets . h t m l

"Organic Meat" is any considered "organic" after 1 year without injections of hormones or antibiotics. Many of which stay with the animal (deep in the muscles that you eat) much longer than that. The article above will detail all the other reasons you think your are eating healthy, but aren't. Maybe you just learned something, we'll see.

  • @ShogaNinja

Organic meat is considered organic if it was:

Born and raised on certified organic pasture

    Never receive antibiotics

    Never receive growth-promoting hormones

Are fed only certified organic grains and grasses

    Must have unrestricted outdoor access

That regulation is set by the USDA.

I'll give the website a read thought.

  • @UDavidT

BHC, Chlordane, DDT, dieldrin, dioxin, heptachlor, HCB, and lindane. That's what your cows eat and that's what you eat.DDT is banned you say?We sold it all to other countries who still use it and that feed is imported to feed livestock. MMMMM. DDT is bad but those other pesticides are MANY TIMES as carcinogenic as wussy little DDT. The livestock industry is out to make money. You think they are feeding them organic feed? Your steak would cost $1000. Why doesn't anyone import US beef?

  • @ShogaNinja

yeah but im not eating meat from other countries, im eating 100% organic U.S.A beef.

You believe what you want from your biased sources. I'll just eat what I like and live just as long.

  • @UDavidT

The feed comes from other countries. They use the DDT. I eat organic vegetables, your cattle does not. I do not get DDT, they do. Those are chemical abbreviations by the way, you'd have to wikipedia them not google them.

You are at a much higher risk of bone loss, heart disease, kidney stones, colon cancer, prostate cancer. Despite the fact that what you're eating is basically toxic to you I am sure you will still continue to eat it and mistakenly believe you are healthy as a horse.

  • @UDavidT

And this is the same USDA that lets beef through that is recalled all the time. This is the same USDA that checks each and every of the millions of cows right? This is the same USDA that lets them bulldozer up recently dead and/or dying cows and slaughter them real fast. This is the same USDA that fed cows other dead ground up cows and mad cow disease was born. The same USDA that lets cows drink water contaminated by jet fuel additives?I can go on all day but alas I am out of letters.

  • @ShogaNinja

Don't know man, i did a google search on those and nothing comes up.

Anyway, you act like there is no such thing as genetically engineered plants. Those shits are unhealthy as well.

If you think your veggies doesn't have DDT or pesticides in it then you need a reality check.

  • @ShogaNinja I did. Thanks for the info.

  • @ShogaNinja I've never seen a ripped vegetarian. Can you source a few for me?

  • @christschool

    w w w . veganathelete . c o m

  • @ShogaNinja Thanks for the link. While I agree that the images on that website seem to be people in shape (hard to tell its real), but I wouldn't call anyone on that site "ripped". Being ripped simply isn't possible unless you have the genetics and ingest animal protein. However, I am sympathetic to how our animal produce is produced in this country.

  • @christschool

Our definition of ripped may differ. I consider ripped to having good musculature and low fat. If you consider the wrestlers of WWE to be ripped then sure. Remember, horses are vegans. I'd say they are pretty ripped. You don't need meat to be strong. Nuts and beans are packed with protein. Green leafy vegetables and beans are packed with iron. There is not a useful thing in meat that can't be gotten from a plant source. Because there is no cholesterol in plants,it's always better

  • @ShogaNinja how about w w w.vega-idiot . com. that would pretty much describe your knowledge and repertoire on anything related to health, fitness or athletics after reading your comments on this site. Your self directed knowledge on nutrition pretty much mirrors your "musical talent" .... laughter.

  • @iqmygift2u

I could destroy you at anything you ever do in your pathetic life.

Your continued stalking of me even though I blocked your queer ass only shows how little satisfaction you have in life. That's what happens I guess when you live with mom still. Go upstairs and tell her I want my wallet back. I left it there last night. That was NOT a tip. I paid her.

Do me a favor and die away from me okay little buddy?

  • @ShogaNinja Yep .... looks like the "musical talent" comment was the ticket.

    laughter x 2.

  • @iqmygift2u

Make sure you get your allowance when you go home to breastfeed.

  • @ShogaNinja and yeah, this guy does make some unhealthy dishes, but this one are you kidding me? Its a simple and already light dish. What could you replace the pasta with? Chinese noodles? Its a freaking Aglio Olio! He used olive oil instead of butter. Should I get to the cheese part? No! Cause youre a triple moron by now. Show me your own healthier version of Aglio Olio in a video or gtfo!

  • @remyrickymartin

Whole wheat pasta or quinoa pasta would be better alternatives than spiking your blood sugar with enriched bleached flour. You'd be hungry in less than 2 hours if you ate that and it would go straight on your ass. Why do you think Italians are so often overweight? You'd have to be a guido to eat like this and keep the weight off lol. On top of that, spiking your glucose like that can lead to diabetes if you do it a lot. Bad choice is all I am saying.

  • gross

  • Wow! Incredibly simple. Thanks, great bachelor meal with some class

  • Where's the red pepper? :\

  • Comment removed

  • Very well done! Greetings from Italy :)

  • mmmm its 1am here and you make me wanna turn on the stove and make this

  • wow. i have been making a version of this for sometime now.

if you are on a budget, this is a great and tasty way to eat with

out sacrificing flavor. who knew after all this time, this dish has

been around for a good long while.

  • Don't think garlic helped the italian debt crisis! haha.

  • im a teenager, and i tried this. my family was impressed. now they think i have some extraordinary skills. THANK YOU CHEF!

  • @jackpostyle

You do have something extraordinary within you; don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

  • this is not the real reason why the show goes on! the real reason is, that as a youtube-partner you have to dance when youtube - which is ruled by google - wants you to dance!

  • Great job as usual. Looked yummy. I rinse my pasta lightly so it isn't a gelatinous stuck together starchy mass.

  • @breckandy that means you overcooked them and didn't put oil in the cooking water. never rince pasta

  • @cartouchator

Only Al dente and with a little oil and salt. No one ever has a reason to 'never rinse' other than maybe you're going to die or something or because they heard it on a cooking show.

I go to a lot of care preparing my toppings/ sauce. I don't want it mingled with starchy, salty water.

And if you are feeding 15 people who will want seconds you don't want it stuck together.

  • But do we RINSE the spaghetti?!?!?!?!?!??! :D Little did I know I've been doing this dish the lazy way. I just put olive oil, garlic powder, and dry oregano in a pan, add to spaghetti and top it with that cheap parmesan from Kraft. THIS looks SO much better :)

  • that looks simple!

  • OMFG LOOKS DEELISH ahhh

  • This looks sooooo good!

  • If you add some pepper is better!. Aglio olio e peperoncino!.^^

  • I do hope that you have recovered from your laryngitis, and that you are now well, take care and never forget manuka honey.

  • @Brighteyes1ful

You realize this video was made well over a year ago, right?

  • @Brighteyes1ful /facepalm. Lol

  • I'm Italian, that dish is not the most popular dish....at all...

  • @Skulldaman I'm Spaghetti, that is not the most popular Pasta...at all...

  • @fathomboy991 no you are just an asshole troll

  • @TGFTH U mad bro?

  • @Skulldaman you are Italian from Jersey Shore

  • When you're infusing the oil with the garlic, why don't you infuse with the pepper flakes at the same time?

  • @electronblue7 pepper burns

  • I love this, so easy to do and it tastes great!

  • SERIOUSLY! Totally soounds like Seth Rogen. I love this...two of my favorite things in one video. Ah yes.

  • I found this video quite a while back and ever since then this dish is probably my favourite thing in the whole world.

  • Thankyou chef John. I made it and it taste great. The kids loved it too. Oh, and I promise to never rinse my spaghetti from now on.

  • Even if my family prefer to remove the garlic from the oil (bad breath prevention :D ), i can't finish a "foodwishes" videos marathone without watching this video: that looks freaking tasty!!!

  • I made this the other day... IT'S REALLY GOOD! (and so simple)

  • :P whoa. great voice

  • to be honest i like your sick voice, you sound manly ;P

  • Thank you for the recipe!

  • do you have a show in the food network? cos if not you should!!!! you're amazing!!!

  • guys it is seth rogen... haha

  • "Dump over"... how appealing.

  • Two words.

    Fucking Yum!

  • Comment removed

  • so wat's wrong with rinsing ur spaghetti ?_?

  • @Commandos12 You are rinsing away the starch that will help the sauce actually stick to the pasta and not end up on the bottom of the dish

  • BTW u sound like Seth Rogen.

  • @lacykeychains Maybe he is Seth Rogen
