Second of all, The first amendment says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." That means there can not be taxpayer dollars used to uphold a religion and you can't make laws prohibiting people from expressing thier beliefs. This cross was not funded by congress, or endorsed.

Second of all, The first amendment says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." That means there can not be taxpayer dollars used to uphold a religion and you can't make laws prohibiting people from expressing thier beliefs. This cross was not funded by congress, or endorsed.

THE ODDS of the sequence of molecules in a cell coming together by chance are similar to the odds of magnetic letters randomly bonding together in a sequence to form all the words and sentences in a dictionary. If a variation occurs that helps a species survive, that survival is called being "selected." That's all it is. There's no conscious selection by nature. It's a passive process. @aqouby To some degree I can agree with you, people that go about the bible as the exact written law of god and don't approach it subjectively can be said to be a bit sheltered, however the majority of Christians are not that way. In fact you are approaching a minority. You just said that the bible is causing kids to be retarded. That couldn't be further from the truth. Also, how would you know of the Old Testament when you haven't read the bible? You wouldn't it's all subjective many if not all of the acts were committed by man acting in the name of God without God interfering at all. In fact in a moral perspective it might actually be worse off. Also no, the reduction of sceintist isn't always a bad thing. We're kind of putting to much money into theoretical science as it is. Theoretical science serves no practice application. So that actually directly opposing your statement.

My father happens to be what you might call a scientist. However, contrary to popular belief they do not sit in a room brainstorming about how to make the world better. They sit at their desks performing remedial tasks like most of us. Very few actually do anything innovative.

No Christians are not stupid people that belong to a cult. Yes, there are some who take it to far. No Christian should not all be viewed through this stereotype, and no religion is not a plague on the world. Because I can pick out scriptures in most major religions saying to KILL PEOPLE. Science doesn't do that. Also, it wasn't tested outside of CERN, and inside CERN it wasn't tested a lot. @aqouby No, I've read the bible in its entirety and one thing can be said about some of the controversial passages, they are subjective. For the most part they were humans acting as they thought God would want, not under direct orders of God himself. You can't really refute anything because you haven't read the bible yourself. So in effect you are arguing against something you don't understand, and don't take other peoples word for it either, it's a journey of SELF discovery.
