  • I totally love what you have done with this ! off the back of this vid i have just ordered those lights, which are double the price in the UK!!! :( . Going to call head office to complain about this really is rip off Britain ( anyway im going off the subject. Great job your way of organising all your Make-up appeals to my OCD nature! Props to you... and thank you once again !

  • Great job.. loved it..

  • Girl, im so glad I found your video!!! I`ve been looking to do my DIY vanity mirror for months now, and here in the UK I couldnt find any lights that I could put on the wall. Before I saw your video, I went to ikea website and found the vanity lights.....now that I saw your video, I`m most def going to get them. Thanks for sharing love xx

  • @anangelsparkle Did you buy them already ? you know they are 20 quid a strip here in the UK ? They work out to £8 each in the US when you convert the currency!

  • @Zannnnah - No, I didnt cause I wanted something that could give more light. I mean Daylight because of my videos. Plus, I couldnt really find anyone who was willing to connect the lights lol....nevermind. I got a 2ft Fluorescent light on the wall and its great too! only cost me £12. Thank you for replying xxx

  • what kind of bulb light are you using because i have the same from ikea but they get so hot i like your video i subing :)

  • Great ideas. Might have to use some of them - thanks!!

  • My God!!... please know I'm going to hijack this..... I have to have it for my teens.. I loooovvvveeeeddd this! (pressing the sub box right now)

  • Inlove with this vanity.

  • I am completely jealous

  • Very nice! I'm also looking into setting up a vanity type area using a table with a glass top from Ikea they also have a beautiful mirror I will use as well....I really love your lights! I did not think about adding lighting but after seeing your set up I will consider adding them to my set up. Thanks for the upload!

  • Very nice. :)

  • You can get this type of mirror at pure-reflection.co.uk

  • @toughtrek1 yes, but at what price!

  • i love this vid! thanks

  • Great setup! What light bulbs did you use? I have the same light strips from IKEA, thanks!

  • @arianamar Thanks!!! I am not sure of the name but they had 4 bulbs in a yellow box. I will check the box when I get home to get you the name.

  • i don't care what fire department or whatevah department say about not having too much light bulbs together. i think having light bulbs on your vanity mirror looks fab and gorgeous. and i love your vanity girl. its beautiful and hollywood..=D

  • Did you use any specific wattage or kind of light bulbs

  • @MSteed7931 I didn't use a specific wattage. I just made sure to get the round ones because of the look I was going for. I guess if you didn't want it so bright you could use a lower wattage.

  • Thank you for the inspiration. I finished mine yesterday!

  • My birthday is this weekend, and my boyfriend showed me this video this morning and asked if I would like this as a gift....Wow! I have been looking online for the broadway ones and they run 800 dollars! This is a girls dream...thanx for sharing!!!

  • That is so beautiful! I am building mine this weekend! Thanks for the great information!

  • I've been begging my husband to do the lighting for me, but he doesn't know how to...Love your set up.

  • Love it! Thanks for the inspiration, I changed my lighting system after I saw your vid :) Genius!

  • Love your set up :)

  • Luv it!

  • CAn you please please please let me know how your boyfriend actually wired the lights up?? I cannot for the life of find how to plug it in :( (I rent my house so I can't plug it into any mains in the walls...) thanksss!

  • FYI: wiring for the lights, quoted from an electrician,

"First of all this is not a legal connection according to NPF-70 (National Fire Protection -70). The reason why is it could potentially start a fire due to the improper connection becoming loose and arching in the wire nut, causing the wire to heat up. If it gets too hot or there is something flammable close enough to the arching overheating connection, a fire could start. Remember to always ask a professional electrician who is licensed!"

  • @Bellydanza23 Thanks for the info. You should always do what you think is best. My boyfriend has a degree in electrical engineering and is currently going to school for another degree in the same field. I have had these up for almost a year now with no problems- thank God!! If you buy these lamps you have to hook them up to some type of wiring in order for them to come on. I just have hooked mine up outside the wall vs. inside. But always do what you feel safe and comfortable with :)

  • hi i absolutely love the vanity love the color and the storage space

    too cute

  • Do your lights make a clicking noise? I set mine up and I notice a clicking noise if they are left on too long. Thank you so much for this I made my own & I LOVE it!

  • This is AWESOME. Thanks so much for sharing! You've inspired me!

  • Hello, I purchased the same lighting from IKEA but the light bulbs I purchased do not fit, Could you please tell me where you purchased your lightbulbs? It looks like they have to be really small. Thank you for doing this, you saved me lots of money!

  • @cc112702 I got the lights from Ikea too. Not too far from the actual lamps. They come 4 to a box. I will find out the name when I get home and let you know :)

  • I love love your set up

  • @KISSseventyseven Thank you!!

  • super jealousy!!!! lol thank you so much for the idea!!!

  • thanks so much for doing this! i've never appreciated a video this much, honestly. that sounds a little weird, but i've been trying to find a setup for my makeup, and everything was so expensive. i can definitely afford this, and im so glad you made this video!

  • hi i wanna kno are the lights connected threw the wall? or how did u put them, deo they come with a stenchen cort?

  • @The85856969 I just screwed them into the wall close to the mirror. They have a plate on the back that you can screw to the wall.

  • I LOVEE THIS. thanks soo much for this.. honestly theres no way Im spending a lot of money.. so this is perfect! You go girl!

  • NICE!!!!

  • Gosh I love the hollywood style! :D It looks so fashionable! It totally inspires me! :D

  • @Makeupfazination Great!! Im glad you liked it.

  • I see the table you have has a drawer underneath and the one you posted is just a table top.

  • @amyrenemccombs The cart that you see there was purchased separately at Kmart. The table is a table top and legs only.

  • @GucciGyrl1229 Okie dokie thanks!!! I cant wait to get mine. Im tired of doing my makeup on the floor. Thanks again!

  • @amyrenemccombs LOL!!! Let me know if you have any other questions,

  • How long did it take your husbad to install the lights? Are they nailed to the wall? or attached the mirror somehow. This is exactly what i want

  • @amyrenemccombs It didnt take him long at all. He just drilled them into the wall.

  • Omg this is Exactly what I have been looking for!!!

  • I love it!! Very helpful!! I cant wait to go to ikea this weekend and put my hubby to work!! thanx girl!

  • @pvtpmo22 Thats right....put that man to work!!! LOL!!

  • @TallBlkBeauty Thats right!!! Which is why I just subbed to you:)

  • Yaaas! I love your set up girlfriend! Let me ask you, how stable is that table? You did an amazing job with organizing everything and I will definitely have to FAV this vid as a go to for my future setup!

    (✿◠‿◠) Kokofemme

  • @kokofemme Thank you KoKo!!!!

  • Any update on how your boyfriend installed the lights? I went out and bought this same setup after seeing your video, but have no clue what to do with the lights and I'm almost to the point of returning them :-(

  • @theREALnineteen Hey! Im sooo sorry I forgot. But soon as I saw your comment I asked him again and he agreed to do a video. I just uploaded it. Let me know if you have any questions.

  • I love your new vanity and storage solutions. Thanks for sharing.

    Blessings.

  • @NikiD40 Thank you! Im glad you liked it :)

  • wow i love the mirror and the table but the chair gots to go and those stroges bins sucks it looks ghetto come now if going show something classes leave the trash out of it ....

  • @kitkatplus30 Hey KitKatplus30!! You know what, if I would have known that you were going to see this I would have put things together to meet your standards. But unfortunately the title is called "My Hollywood Vanity and Storage" and everything is perfect for me. When you decide to put yours together then you can leave out the ghetto bins and add more class....k?

  • Nice set-up! I'm lovin' it! :) Chic, simple, and organized.

  • I love the set up so cute:-)

  • i loooooove ur set up so cute

  • @MilotyBadBitchBeauty Thank you!!

  • hahahaha i have the same thing you use for your brushes lol and teh drawer falls out all teh time they need to have something to it will stay in lol.. and ps I LOVE THAT VANITY!!!

  • @aquagirl626 IKR! I curse that thing out at least 3 times a week! LOL

  • @GucciGyrl1229 me 2 i have to put a small peice of folded up paper on the bottom so when i move it it dont fall out but its still a pian.

  • very nice. I have a question. What bulbs are you using and are they white light bulbs or do they have a yellow tone to them? And, my bigger question is does this fixture give off alot of heat? The light strips in my bathroom give off alot of heat so I want to find one that doesn't.

Going to get my husband and son to DIY a tabletop vanity similar to the VanityGirlHollywood...those prices are just too steep, b ut I love the designs of them.

IKEA looks a good way to go.THX

  • heheh i have the same cococola cup that my mom found at some thrift store..lol she wanted me to use them for my brushes too..lol

  • Great video....love the organizational tips! I've also bought these lights and I know you've answered other questions about them but I wonder if you can tell us in a little bit more detail how you were able to convert them. I thought I would have to make holes in the wall/rewire etc and was nearly giving up on them! I got this mirror too and the anordra trays but to use in the alex unit...I love Ikea!

  • @nadiaelf Thanks! You know I honestly only know how he told me he did it so I will try to sweet talk him into letting me make a video of him explaining how he did it :) Hopefully he will because when he put it together he told he to get out the room and let him do it since I was all in the way!!! LOL

  • @GucciGyrl1229 wow, that would be so helpful and amazing...I hope he lets you! I live in Ireland and Ikea has only come here recently so a lot of people I know have bought these lights and are having the same problem and would love a tutorial. You're lucky to have someone do it for you....looking forward to see the video if you can :)

  • Nice setup and very economical too!

  • wow,,you did an awesome job putting that together. I love the mirror.I'm gonna try and get that mirror part for my vanity. Thanks so much for the ideas.

  • @Txjane Thanks!!!

  • I'm trying to do this same setup. Did you get the cords to get the lamps to work at ikea too, or somewhere else?

  • @melanie102780 I got the cords from Wal-mart. Ikea may sell them but I didnt look for them when I was there because I didnt know how short those wires actually were.

  • How did you install the lights?

  • This looks great!!!! Questions: how did you get the "hollywood" lights to work. They are hardwire not plug in. Did you attach a cord to them? I bought this lights and I'm trying to figure out how to work.

  • @MakeupByNazra Thanks!! You know how the back of the lights has those short little cords? You can buy longer cords and plugs and make them into lamps basically. He took the new cords and plugs and hooked them up where the existing wires are. HTH!!

  • you use a toothbrush to exfoliate? that is genius!! tell me more...do you use any other product along with the toothbrush to exfoliate or just the toothbrush alone? do you have sensitive skin? i would love to try this.

  • @AnnieLuvsChocolate Well I usually put on my skin exfoliator before I get in the shower. I like to do it this way because the steam from the shower opens my pores. Once i am done showering my body I get the toothbrush and work it in a circular motion to help the exfoliator I put on and get help with the skin renewal process. I actually prefer to use a cheapie battery powered brush but since I dont have one this will due for now :) Hope this helps!

  • What Department Are The Lipglass Containters In, In Ikea??

  • @luci3kins They are in the bathroom section.

  • @vettvett131 LOL!!! Sis have tou seen some of the makeup collections people have on here?! Theirs made me feel like I really dont have THAT much-compared to theirs that is!! LOL Luv ya- and I am going to get you in a live video one of these days ;)

  • I really like your vanity set-up, very creative! It was so sweet for your boyfriend to put it together for you. The mirror looks like it has a curve to it?

  • Thank you!! The mirror is actually flat. I think the shadows make it look curvy..

  • i love it boo its 2 cute

  • Thanks hunny bunny!!

  • your vanity looks so beautiful! I love it. This makes me want to take a trip to ikea.

  • Thank you!!!!!

  • Great set up, I wanted to ask is the mirror mounted on the wall or is it attached to the actual vanity setup?

    Thanks!

  • Thanks!!! The brackets are attached to the wall and the mirror slid into the brackets. The 4 brackets attaches to the wall with one screw. The top ones are like "r" and the bottom ones look like "J" so once you mount the hooks the mirror just slides in.

  • VERY NICE!

  • by the way, i am doing well on the gloss-out so far, haha! i haven't bought a lip gloss in a couple weeks, aren't you proud of me, lol! :) thank goodness I had just had a trip to mac/sephora the day before it started LOL!! :D

  • hahaha!! :D girl, i would love your help! let me know if you're ever in Denver, it would be so fun to go makeup shopping with you lol! :D

  • love the mirror and lights! u should try a face brush instead of toothbrush. its a lil bigger and rounder and its only $2-3 at ulta or biglots. ps how are mark products? thanks for the vid

  • Sorry it took me so damn long!!! I am going to check out the brush you're talking about. The couple of eyeshadow trios I have are good. They are like baked or mineralized eyeshadows but I dont get down with their regular eyeshadows.
