  • At 1:52, Dang Linda's ass looks good in those jeans!

  • I don't suppose anyone noticed Natalie Cole singing backup.

  • @bluegrassarizona2 Those are Sherlie Matthews and Clydie King

  • ronnie spectre their and skunk baxter!!

  • Such a classic.

  • @marianamere Linda was the first female to ever do a rock concert tour, ELEVEN GRAMMYS, Most successful female rock singer to sold out concerts across country, rock and Mexican Folk 6 platinum albums,.. The greatest vocal interpreter ever.and I meet young people who have never heard of her???

  • this guitar solo is better than Eddie Van Halen's version.

    heheh..hahaha.. BAHAHHAHAHA

  • BEAUTIFUL THIGHS

  • As a guitarist, I usually enjoy the guitar solo - unless Linda Ronstadt is the vocalist - then I'm just waiting for the guitar to stop so we can hear Linda again!

  • I remember this song as a little kid. My older sister would sing it to me when it was on the radio. I'm sure it played no small part to my psychosis as an adult.

  • Work, "Skunk"!!! You better work!

  • And the guitarist was Andrew Gold, who unfortunately just died last June. He played great guitar, sang, and was a good songwriter. He did "Lonely Boy" and "Thank You for Being a Friend". RIP.

    Man, those were good times.

  • @hiramchik The drummer, Richie Hayward, died this year as well. This is why early induction into R&R Hall of Fame for obvious candidates (even if they're not to your particular taste!) is so important.

  • @hiramchik he also wrote this song.

  • Man, Linda Ronstadt definitely was the total package with her voice and the looks to match!

  • Cooler than the original studio version! Linda was quite the fox before she porked up.

  • That's Richard Pryor in a wig singing backup.

  • I really like this version its real, its soul

  • If you want to watch and listen to more classic videos check out my channel

Rememberthesixties I have hundreds of sixities videos

  • the back ground singers used to be in a group I think I just can't remember, maybe someone Phil Spector backed?

  • On some real shit though I could've fucked Linda hard in this video. She got that Miss Tessmacher body um um!

  • @NitroEng OK but would she want to do it with you

  • This is so good. Why oh why can't we get back to this kind of music! It's truly born from the heart.

  • JEFF SKANK BAXTER ON CONGOS

  • @GARYMAX1313 Before the Steely Dan and Doobie Brothers era? (Plus its Skunk, but I'm no expert, just saying). Anyways, kicking ass on congos!!

  • Andrew gold on guitar.

  • Sur ce titre le guitariste solo est visiblement Andrew Gold,l'injustement mesestimé!

  • Is that Don Felder of the Eagles on lead guitar (1:39)???? How cool!!!!

  • @j2thashaw Yeah...i thought it was Felder for a long time also.It is Andrew Gold...i believe he passed this year(2011)

  • Gorgeous girl..would love too have seen this Gal live..

  • Sherlie Matthews!!

  • Linda looks kind of bored here!

  • Sorry Linda, Betty Everett did it better. Although I love your other music, you sounded nervous and uncertain, at least on this version.

  • who's the keyboard player. he's the only one i don't recognize from other work.

  • Linda Blair on backing vocals - after the tanning salon...

  • The drummer is having way too much fun starting at 1:45 ;-)

  • @dibenj The late, great Richie Hayward ... may he RIP [I miss his talent and humor very much] One R

  • She is still pretty and very talented

  • This is the song that made a Linda fan out of me back in the early 70's. I went out and bought heart like a wheel and on to buy 12 more of her albums. She dominated my album collection with 13 albums. Every Sunday was Linda day. Lost the whole collection in moving a few years back. I hope who ever got them knows what they have cause I still had albums I had bought back in the 60's. There will never be a better female vocalist then LINDA RONSTADT....!

  • @rockabilly541 Try Eva Cassidy

  • Van Halen later ruined it

  • Andrew Gold on guitar

  • Linda rocks this song, i love the range and power in her voice. But the bongo / drum / guitar jam starting from 1:20 - 2:02 is what REALLY makes the song super awesomely sweet and groovy!!!!

  • That conga player is the balls.

  • @tdelamont I think that the conga player is the great Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, who would later play with Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers

  • @tdelamont... Yeah hes really groovin' lol

  • @tdelamont that would be jeff "skunk" baxter, who played with doobie brothers and steely dan and if you think he's the balls on congas, you should hear him on guitar...! check out "reelin' in the years."

  • @tdelamont Jeff "Skunk" Baxter, journeyman and founding member of both Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers. That's Andrew Gold on guitar and Little Feat drummer Richie Hayward. No female singer had more talent behind them than Ronstadt.

  • @tdelamont thats Jeff Skunk Baxter ya know (doobie bros-Steely Dan-us govt!)

  • @tdelamont The conga player is Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter, a founding member of Steely Dan and also played in the Doobie Brothers.

  • yeah Skunk Baxteron bongos...or what ever they're called!

Man she was hot back then...!

  • The guitarist is rocking the John Lennon beard thing from the era..gotta dig it.

  • @MrVeesworld Andrew Gold. huge talent

  • @bassmaster1953 Yes I know. He played most instruments on this song and that great classic break and solo which sounds very beatlesesque.

Skunk Baxter is also no slouch on the conga and geeetar. lol

  • @MrVeesworld They say that Skunk got his name because he refused to use tolet paper- or bath regularly. He had to sit downwind when it was hot weather because he really really stunk like a skunk and would make sweet little Linda "Hurel her cookies" if she got a "BO" whif!

  • So much talent on one stage -- love it!

  • The one harmony singer is not singing the correct line, she is singing unison with Linda.

  • Leagend stuff!!!!

  • There is something about this lady that just gets to me. She has such a sweet and pure voice. One of my all time favourite singers.

  • ahh yeah! they tha s#@t outta that one!!

  • You can get the audio-mp3 of this clip at grabaudios doht cohm.

  • That's Skunk Baxter on the bongos! (Guitar player from Steely Dan and The Doobie Bros.....sweet

  • @drpercussion1 Wow, you're right. Skunk was multi talented!

  • they all are babies...and Richie is havin' a ball

    the drum break is priceless.

  • I miss the midnight special.....back when music and singing was live and you never quite knew what you were going to get. Some went on the show and knocked it out of the park. Some....well, you could tell they appeared after a show and post show party.

  • that's richie hayward (1946-2010) on drums. very cool, thanks for posting this video.
