@HigherEnlightment I personally like this song, not necessarily for its technical complexity or depth; as you said, it's really rather simple. Rather, it does what it's meant to to, which is to rouse and inspire.

Of course, Hisaishi and Einaudi are in a whole different league than the writers of this style of music...It's a different dimension of orchestra. Try John Powell on for size, specifically his HTTYD OST. Might not be your cup of tea but...you never know right? Search "Downed Dragon"

Not necessarily. There exist people who have heard Mozart and Beethoven in their lives, for example.

I think this is a pretty good piece for a game or a film, but doesn't have nearly enough depth to make me want to listen to it again. In other words, it is shallow. Throwing some epic choirs and kettledrums together is not nearly enough to make an orchestral piece great.
