Money wasn't her object of interest still she married two rich wogs consecutively. White men aren't good enough for the serious bitch? She has no scottish accent
This is the ONLY woman, I've ever wanted to meet and speak with. I have no idea why, or what... I'd ask or say, but still. The second person would be Marie Curie, for her... I have specific questions, about her work with radium and her relationship with Pierre. I suppose I would have liked to have chided Mother Theresa for not doing a coca cola commercial if it meant feeding kids?!, but I'll leave it there.
Love her "humbleness" and "honesty" about not being "connected in the music biz", and yet PASSION-PASSION-PASSION ! Isn't that kinda true ? You suffer, no money, hard times, but IF YOU LOVE LOVE LOVE what you "do", somehow, somewhere, "sometimes" it just comes to "light" and the masses. I LOVE ANNIE ! She's so "down to Earth", despite all the success.
My words keep disappearing. Makes me wonder what forces are at hand. Can't take constructive criticism. That's a red flag. Have to think twice about hiring someone like that.
Thanks for posting this interview. I love Annie Lennox! She has such a way with words. So eloquent and well spoken. I feel a true sense of empowerment when I listen to her message! She really knows how to get to the heart of the matter and put things into simple yet profound terms. Also, her eyes mesmerize me. They are so pretty, blue and lucid. Sometimes those nonverbal cues can really tell a story. I love the ending. I could watch it time after time. It's just one of my Favorites!!
She is articulate. Van Cliburn observed that he felt discouraged whenever he could not achieve the near-perfection he sought. All artists are that way - full of self-doubt. That's the way it should be.
i liked what she said about feminism. and yes now that we have it we should not abuse it so it just becomes a power in the opposite direction. moderation so that the oppressed do not become the oppressors--which is the history of man. the feel the flow of peace through oneself is sooooo much better than a power rush---don't you agree??????????
She's not talking about human rights, she's talking about women's rights. While women's rights fall under the umbrella of human rights along with other rights movements, she is talking about women. Why does it seem like feminism is a dirty word in over-sanitised 2008. Given the epoch of Bush and Blair we should hope feminsim flys through the roof and the women take over.
Lennox uses the term "feminism", I prefer the term "human rights." Human rights especially in the third world will be the story of our lifetime. Lennox hits a home run here. People with human rights must not take them for granted and they must be shared globally.
what's wrong with the term "feminism"? you are being anti-feminist (feminism :striving for equality betw women and men) when you suggest it is not about human rights which you do when you prefer the term 'human rights' as if there is something worng with the term feminism, which it is not!
Of course you are being ridiculous. I said nothing against feminism here. My original comment was in praise of Lennox and her interview. If anything I expanded on her thought on feminism to the more inclusive term "human rights" which I think we are all in favor. My quote: "Lennox hits a home run here. People with human rights must not take them for granted and they must be shared globally."
u do have a problem with this term when u use human rights instead and Lennox is not using the term 'feminism' by coincidence either, it is exactly this what she is saying: FEMINISM should not be taken for granted. You shy away of this term, because right now men can't stand it and that is *their* problem, since there is nothing wrong with the term. To think that feminism is not or less about human rights is anti-human rights. U r denying the movement that is the foundation of human rights!
oh I am being very reasonable, but maybe you should ask Annie Lennox to explain you why she says that *feminism* is not to be taken for granted and why exactly she uses that term and not 'human rights' for instance. Hopefully she can shed some light on your dormant brain, but I'm afraid you're just unwilling to listen, and that makes *you* unreasonable, since you started to twist her words and prove with that you didn't get at all what she meant. *sigh*
Wow, what an unintelligent thing to say. She played with the establishment many times during her earlier career by dressing as a man, and mainly in response to questions like the one that you just asked. So you see little man, she replied to your question about 25 years ago (were you even born?) and did it in a way that made her a lot of money and earned her enormous respect from her peers. Now why don't you run along and listen to some more britney - she needs the attention.

Is Aberdeen a provincial town I thought it might be a City she's kept her accent though!
KatieRoss 3 years ago
KatieRoss- I think Annie might be talking about the city's attitude as in "...of local or restricted interests or outlook" ;)
Annie has expressed ambivalence about the city in the past, and of not feeling like she belonged or related...
and yes, lovely accent!
