Baritone and euphonium have slight differences but are virtually the SAME INSTRUMENT. I would know; I've played for a while now.

@MonsieurRenoSharp Not at all. An actual baritone is distinctly different from an actual euphonium. Euphonium is larger with a much more bass sound, and as far as marching is concerned, much heavier and more difficult to march. An actual baritone is smaller with a brighter sound closer to that of a trombone, and is lighter and easier to march.

@deb84dc If it has 4 keys, it is a euphonium. Yours has 3 keys. It is a marching BARITONE HORN.

@542Crazyboy 4 valves do not make a euphonium. A euphonium is a slightly larger, conical bore baritone horn. A baritone horn has a predominately cylindrical bore which makes for a slightly harsher/brighter sound. Both instruments can have a 4th compensating valve.

@542Crazyboy No marching horns other than contras have four valves. There are plenty of extant three-valve marching euphs. Hell, there's a lot of three-valve concert euphs too.
