that song isnt on the cassette of this album,Ive never heard it before but cant say I mind,I like that album alot, start to finish on both sides, but dont like that song.
@MrBazza86 I'm Italian, I'm 13 and I think X-Factor is a really s**t only based on the money and not on the talent of the singers. I really like Jethro Tull and I thnk that, listening to them, you can really educate you at the good music.
Personally I like what I believe is the mono single mix better (I have it on an old Warner/Reprise "Loss Leaders" compilation), if only for the outro. On that version, the strings *don't* fade out under the brass, making the ending sound just epic! Either way, a great early Tull track.
@TheFutureFossil re: the Stand Up album cover 'mistake' - is it that the artist gave Ian Anderson eleven fingers whereas he actually has the typical ten !?
@TheFutureFossil Right on, my friends. I guess I spent too many hours under the influence of cannabis staring at album covers. You are all quite astute. I used to remember what time it was on Ian's watch as well, but senility and drug abuse have wiped that one away. Well done, good show & all of that.
This song was a track on the album "Living In The Past." The British version not released in the States, but I was lucky enough to obtain a copy when it came out.
im so oblivious...i only liked jethro tull for aqualung and locomotive breath, and i just realized im totally missing out on SO MUCH other great songs!
Great band!!! I saw them at the Riverside here in Milwaukee. Ian Anderson is bad with that flute!!! They ended the show with Locomotive Breath one of my favs!!!
Though the ultimate subject of this song is very serious, to which the music corresponds perfectly, the last thirty seconds are comprised of perhaps my favorite uplifting jam session - enough to lighten any mood! Rock on Jethro!!!
and also i say to people in my class or grade etc look up jethro tull they do it they come in the next day and say your so old and i say i may be but i have a good taste in music :)
there is hope for the music world carry on duckboyish...the first 6 are timeless but minstrel and heavy horses and songs from the woods are a good listen

Rhapsody charges $.99 for every track you buy from their library.
Except Jethro Tull songs cost $1.29.
Coincidence?

There's good songs, and there's bad songs. If a song is good, it doesn't make a difference if it's 40 days old or even 40 years like in this one.
It's intelligent. It rocks. And it will never stop rocking. Not in a million years. Besides, it brings back a whole lot of good memories... ;-)
