Packfart - what a dip! Bill is/ was---whatever---always will be the man! Better than a legend!! Love the voice and the sweet gentleman known as Bill Anderson. I didn't know he wasn't here any longer 'til I read these (sure he's singing in Heaven now). I will never forget seeing him sing at the county fair, 1980. He really impressed me then. That's why I came here now--to hear him again. He's better than almost anything now!
I respect Whisperin Bill and understand his importance to country music but why any one in their right mind would go to see this stiff still sing is beyond me. Thats 4:00 minutes of my life I will never get back.
@packfan122222 I would go see Bill any time I could. I go because he's a friend of mine! He's an awesome entertainer. He treats his fans as humans and not numbers or dollar signs!

@packfan122222 Gee ..lets see he's famous and your not, and he's one of the godfathers of music and your not. He's wealthy and beloved and when he dies all the greatrst of conutry and bules and sevral other types will flock to his funeral and they won't be at yours. Well i could on go but my point is made, Bill's a singer/song writer who made it in music when your grand parents were still kids and does not want or need your aprovel-- you stupid ASS-HAT!
@packfan122222 And stiff performer or not he still packs them in cause they came to see a legand not Brittney or Justine , so whats the point to your mindless nattering?
In 2006, George Strait reached #1 on the Country chart with "Give It Away," a song which Johnson co-wrote with Bill Anderson and Cannon. This song became Strait's 41st #1 on the Billboard country charts, setting a new record for most #1s on that chart.
I know it s been 3 months since your comment. This was not really a cover. Bill wrote it george recorded it. I had the sincere pleasure of being the opening act for Mr Anderson for over 30 shows. This is indeed one of the most sincere man that I have ever worked with. Treats everyone special. He remembers his fans from years gone. And can recall and call them by name. I don t remember who I meet yesterday. This man is a Gem and a Ledgend. Proud to say I know him personally.
thanks for the video...sometimes on the Opry Bill jokes and says "this song put George Strait on the map" before announcing he helped write the song that George won the awards for.
I seen him in Great Falls Montana and he is the same man he always was,Great
