I have a radio control ag cat my favorite plane I have a question about the way u guys fly them I know where you sit and I know where the insectide goes/// but where do you put your balls wow what great flying
This is a great video! Thanks for sharing it. I first saw a Grumman Ag Cat in 1972 and ever since then I have wanted to ride in one! My dream will come true next Spring! I found a man who has one that has all of the spray equipment removed and a two seat cockpit installed where the spray tank was.I have never been so excited in my life! I CAN'T WAIT!!!
I am soooo ready to do this. I have been out of flying ever since 19 unhappy muslums put the dampers on my aviation career. But this Febuary I'm going to an ag school in GA to learn the trade.. Can't freakin' wait
Awesome video!!!! I saw an Ag Cat just like this in Franklin VA many times in action when I was growing up. Thought I would never see another until I saw one, I beleive in Delaware as it was getting rebuilt. A nice older man had the ag-cat and a couple Cubs by his house/farm. Sorry for ramlbling....great video...thanks...
I've got a little over 1,000 hrs in radial Ag Cats... Excellent ag aircraft. There's not a plane out there that will out turn it. And yes, they are STILL widely used, both with radial engines AND turbine conversions. There's lots of them still turnin and burnin every day down in Texas.
My Dad Terrell Kirk was in charge of the Agcat project for Grumman and Schweitzer for 40 some years. Thanks for bringing back some great memory of watching him do test flights!8^) Man do I miss him!!!!!
As a kid, I used to see tons of these in the Mississippi Delta, but now I only know of 2 that are still used in the North Delta area. They are so fun to watch, but they have largely been replaced by much faster (and louder) monoplanes.
stovall1; They've actually been replaced by F-16's flown by the Alabama Air National Guard. The crops are designated bombing ranges now. They top of a 750 pound, Mark 77 bomb with the designated chemical and drop it on target to disperse it. The collateral damage is HEAVY, the cost is extremely high, and the noise pollution is off the charts, but it is WAY cooler to watch than those GIRLY MAN Model T's of the sky.....:/ (Disclaimer: Take it easy "Mr. Serious" viewers, my sarcasm was thick)

I have only seen 2 of them, and only in an Antique Plane Shows (Fly In) but not as a crop duster.
