one of my childhood'S memories...thi song brings me the magical air I breathed when I was just 9 years old...my world was music (oldies), school, videogames and my platonic love of childhood
Like no other bassline i've ever heard. Part jazz part rock, couple that with that voice, singing the lead vocal, the three part melody anchored by that bassline. Epic..just Epic. Words fail me. .
damn.... wish it was '76....... poor guy's voice is fading a bit.... but still too awesome for words..... I'm still pumped about seeing him on July 24 at Comerica park, Yes, that's right, this is 2011 and I'm gonna see him!!! hope to see all of you fellow fans there!!!!
@sonnyandbilly thank you so much for sharing this! I love Wings so much! How popular were they back then? It doesn't really matter to me but I have always wondered since I was born in the 90's..
@Icymarky0123 Back in the 70's wings were popular......This song, Band on the run, ect ect were played regularly and this song went gold. Of course this was after the height of Beatle mania, and nothing will ever be as popular as that was. WIngs was a pretty defining band of the 1970's though.....Paul is a very talented man.
I want to see these kinds of concerts. At my age of 15, all the concerts I see contain fire, explosions, backup dancers, lip syncing and etc. I wish I could go back in time and see these kinds of conerts from The Beatles, Rolling Stones, etc. :(
Saw him yesterday in Rio de Janeiro. I still can't believe it, it was a dream come true. This man is such a legend! By far the greatest musician of the century. I can die happy now!

@exil7 I was there. I was 21 years old & most of the people were young. For some reason that doesn't come across in the closeups. Older folks liked him then, as they do now, though. It's all good.
The boys from "Glee" put up a good fight with their cover of this great song...but just take a listen again and you'll agree... therr's really no comparison :-)
Paul really was able to hit those high notes, which now you can see these days he struggles, probably all those years of touring contributed, but also he's 68! And he still puts on a hell of a good live show, anybody should see him if you get the chance!!
As a recreational bass player, playing the bass line is easy; singing the words is easy- but doing both live can be tough! The 3 part vocal lines blew me away from the first hearing.
MoxPistol I totally disagree with you, I absolutely love the direction McCartney took his music after the Beatles!
He could of rested on his laurels and produced the same old Beatle sound, but McCartney is more creative than that and went in a totally different direction, coming up with some of the best music ever!

@carriexshargay well let me say something .. I think it's better to sing his great songs of today from their last album in which you can hear what it sounds like your voice today .. it is obvious that her voice has aged but still evolving beautifully infinitely .. and those great issues before and were registered in his time with the voice I had .. Now would be good and really interesting to hear live singing the full album Electric Arguments is their latest work, the album is great
A great response to John Lennon. One of the best songs by Wings. The beat on this version is faster and the addtion of the horn section makes it even sound better.
I remember when I was a kid I thought Paul McCartney & Wings were the best band in the world, I was aboout 11 or 12. One day some guys was on tv and made a joke that paul was in another band before Wings. I thought, 'they must not have been good enough to play with paul.' Little did I know....
@sonnyandbilly hey, almost opposite of me, I fell in love with the Beatles and THEN I found about the Wings... both great bands...... but I'm pretty sure the other 3 Beatles where good enough to have the right to play with Paul.....
Another Great Song From The 70s Remids Me Of The Cute Girlfriend From The 7th & 8th Grade Sherie Was Her Name, Man I Would get All Gittish When She Would Turn Around In Band And Smile At Me LOL.
