Voting for Mike Gravel, for 2 reasons, Ron Paul doesnt believe in net neutrality and Ron Paul doesnt believe in the seperation of church and state via his artical "The War on Religion."
Sure he wants to get out of Iraq and wants to get rid of the Federal Reserve System(about which I have some reservations) but he also wants to close all borders and have a completely isolationist policy. If you ask me there are just too many problems in the world the US to build a fortress and ignore the rest of the world. Furthermore an isolationist policy would only promote a totalitarian government. I think it would be an interesting experiment but I believe its a flawed theory.
Ron Paul is not an isolationist... If everything I have read about the Federal Reserve is true, then I would have no problem with it being eliminated. Ron Paul does NOT want to close the borders. He supports trade with other countries. And rather than posting border guards and building fences like other candidates, I believe his solution is to take away the rights that entices and motivates people to enter this country illegally, and opens the doors to LEGAL immigration.....
WOW! Am I missing something??? There is a candidate out there who can make me be "HEALTHY, HAPPY and EDUCATED REGARDLESS OF MY ABILITY!!!"???
Someone who can keep our borders open without the threat of terrorism, job loss, decrease in wages, and prevent illegals from taking advantage of our system at the cost of the taxpayer?
Where everyone will work together and agree! How wonderful!
Sounds more like socialism to me, but who is this candidate? THEY HAVE MY VOTE TOO!
2. Happiness is up to but it is sure easier to be happy when you are healthy and educated.
3. A terrorist will get across our borders no matter what. And what about potential terrorists from the inside?
4. Mike Gravel supports the Fair-Tax. It means that there will be a federal sales tax and no income tax. That means that foreigners and "illegal" immigrants will pay taxes if they buy anything. There is no way they can cheat the tax system.
Yeah, I never did look much into Mike Gravel's stances. He basically suffered the same media blackball fate as Kucinich and Ron Paul. I thought Paul might gain enough momentum to stand a fighting chance, but it looks to be over now anyway. Out of the viable candidates left, Obama is the only one who may have integrity. The other two are deceptive and phony to core. But I would personally take Hillary over McCain... Just my opinion.
the fed is EVIL!!! our constitution was designed keep a fed band (central bank) from being swindled in , but woodrow wilson sold our country away for campaign money. oops..
alrighty then, looks like you're eating off of John Wayne McCain's plate of handy vocab words. you need to understand that there are 2 branches of isolationism, protectionism and noninterventionism. protectionism is what you're referring to, where a nation doesn't trade, travel, or have any communication with other countries (N Korea). noninterv. is what Dr. Paul supports, which is not using our army to meddle in the internal affairs of nations. trade, travel, learn, be friendly, etc. RP 08!
Hippies are not inherently socialist, sexdrugsRnR. But, of course, the term "socialism" is so vague that under some of the broadest definitions of the term, even anarcho-capitalists can be considered socialists, and if and only if you are using this very broad definition, then hippies are intrinsically socialist.
To make matters clearer, hippies are not inherently opposed to individual property rights.
voting for the retards (giuliani etc..) legitimizes the govt. if you vote for paul though, you're insulting the (current) government... get out and vote ron paul so we can have freedom again!!
I mean that voting legitimizes the concept of government in general. As long as there is ANY government, freedom will exist only in the dictionary. Hope lies not in elections, but in the ashes of the White House, Congress and Supreme Court.
what is that, the anarchist's creed from some book? how wrote!
but if you want to say that there should be no government, i say you should kill everyone you love NOW, because with no government, there would be no peace. ANARCHY IS AN INSANE IDEAL THAT DOESN'T WORK IN A CRIME-FILLED WORLD
Hah! The crimes of individuals pale in comparison to the crimes of governments. Look for every crime committed by individual criminals or even gangs of criminals and compare them to the everyday actions of the government and you will find who the real criminals are. Government=Chaos Anarchy=Hope
When the necessities of life are assured for everyone and everyone has complete liberty, what would be the cause of crime?
yeah, that sounds good but i have a feeling that if the government just broke down, like say in katrina, you would be blowing a different tune and i further suspect it would sound like the police mans whistle. Its nice to be idealistic, but you sound naive.
After Katrina the cause of the problems was the breakdown of the social order, not the breakdown of the government. That is what we call anomie, not anarchy. Katrina was a natural disaster, not a revolution.
well, i can tell you this. If the dumb asses (all of em') in the city AND the dumb asses running that shit hole had been ready...for a forcasted hurricane (AND please dude, dont tell me those people werent used to having the government do everything for them.) they could have gotten all those idiots to safety. I assume your use of Crass in the video was intended to be ironic? I can't imagine any other way considering Paul's stance on abortion, the environment, corporate power, and immigration.
No self respecting anarchist would support Ron Paul.
it's not about Ron Paul. It's about pointing out the power we have if we can all stand behind the same message of anti-war-activism and strategically vote in effort for results.
If not, I feel we get our pride in the way and either not vote at all or spread them out to thinly.
damn, i used to think you were just a goofy guy that made cool videos but every time i hear you make a political statement i see how much we share views. I love Ron Paul and am glad you are using your influence to make a difference. Besides Iraq i also like Paul's struggle to get rid of the fed. if you look into the history on that you might find it even more disturbing than the war in Iraq.
Thanks! Ron Paul has an interesting history indeed. His presidential platform in 88' was nearly identical to the one he has now, he's educated, well informed, and certainly qualified for the job.
Jeremy Scahill, now there's someone who did their homework. What's amazing is that most of these organizations make public their records of unlawfulness. We're lucky to have people like him digging up the facts and getting us closer to outing the corruption.
@TheGiantRobot, you do know that the GOP leadership ordered Republicans midway through the vote to vote against tabling, don't you? And the Dems freaked and scrambled to table it.
Good luck divining the intent of individual votes on that one.
Good point to address, dreamcore, and thanks for the luck. Let's see:
Paul may have voted to table because he was opposed to considering impeachment. Or, he may have done so to preserve the Democratic neocons from a potentially uncomfortable position Paul's friend Kucinich put them in.
great man :) I am living/working in Mexico at the moment (US citizen).. I wish i was up there now to have fun like you said. the energy seems awesome around Dr Paul. I think this has potential to be great moment in History. True there are many biases to work against but it can be done. And hey if we dont try we dont deserve the right to bitch when the shit hits the fan.
Thanks a lot for this man. I wish we could convey this to the local "lazy" anarchist here (though at times I know they are doing alot). We all got to realize we're in this together but this is going to take steps before we run.
You would be a great spokesperson for the campaign if they didn't already have a mumbling nervous Nelly. You've very articulate and cool. Thanks for the vid!
Really awesome video man. If i were Amerian I'd come have a chip and dip party with you. Good luck with your message, I will spread it as best as I can.
If you really want to throw your vote away, just vote for who the media says is the top candidate. You really don't want change in america, you just want the same failure you've grown to love. lmao RP08
It's true...Ron Paul has the most support - we all need to come together...it's time to realize that if the Gravel's, Tancredo's, Hunter's and Kucinich folks came together with us - WE WOULD scare the s*** out of the establishment for sho!
Very fun. Out of curiosity... have you ever considered the Green Party????? They've been fighting this fight for a long time and this year have made significant strides. They stand for localized control and - quite obviously - no war. Just an idea for all you Jon Paulites, who think immediate withdrawel is the most important issue.
But I don't just want to get out of the war want to do away with all government. Just BAD govt.
I also want someone who's going to aim for a platform of environmental sustainability and social reponsibility. Not necessarily the tree-huggin type - though I DO hug trees.
Indeed! You'll need to be some distance away (after they yell at you), but it would be awesome to see that kind of thing at a polling place near me. I'm a lazy anarchist and I'm voting in the primary for Ron Paul!
Actually, Kucinich's campaign is beginning to pick up steam. It's not as internet-centered, but he does appeal to a lot of people that would never vote for Paul because of social policy concerns (immigration, healthcare, abortion). Besides, I believe in voting for who you most want to win--not just jumping on the bandwagon of someone who's got a good chance. My vote for Kucinich is my form of protest. We'll see how he's doing by may '08 when my protest finally registers.
Google "Clean Election Lawsuit". A lawsuit by the We The People Foundation to eliminate corporate behind closed door vote counting and demanding a paper ballot trail.
Voter fraud certainly is real, but if we bum rush the show we stand a chance. There is a risk he could win. It'd be great to see the corporations shaking in their boots.
Dahlia is great. I'm working on cutting a talk she gave about a month ago. It will be on YouTube really soon. You should check her out though. Nice video!
Thats the dumbest excuse ever! I'm so tired of hearing people saying essentially that they want to leave the neocons in power. The only way to beat them is to promote a good republican. Not doing so will lead to more bush dynasty bullshit!
its not even a battle of republican vs. democratic. its good vs. evil and i think ron paul would make a great president. he's #2 on my list mostly because my #1 isn't sponsored by billion dollar corporations. and soo.. i leave you with this.
take a joke and ask before judging. thank you and i will see you at the voting ballot! xox
It's important we don't loose our sense of humor in all this, and have fun with this process. It's designed intention is to separate us, the monkey wrench would be to stick together!
Well you have two choices in parties and they're both now represented by Neo cons-- people who subscribe to a political philosphy started by hawkish liberals who jumped parties in during the height of the cold war because aggressive militarialism and who now can be numbered again among democrates, e.g. Hillary Clinton the new Democrat neocon.
If Ron Paul wins the Republican nomination than that party just became the party reprsenting goodness and light-- what you don't want to vote for goodness and light? You want both parties firmly controlled by neocons? Support the person fighting the neocons and then support the party that supports him.
Well said and with such passion. I love your idea to get young people out there voting by making it their scene. Obviously I'm here in England so it's not my vote but how the vote goes affects the world and I too feel passionately about this. Cheers Lesley
Thanks Lesley! This is such an opportune time in political history with the advent of user based websites like this and the doors opening for the free flow of thoughts transcending most borders and the bridges to synergetic harmony being built. I say the synergy of it all is amazing and the risk of someone like Ron Paul winning the election is outstanding!
I usually reserve such platforms for the near and dear, but lately I'm feeling the nearness of you guys and feel obligated to speak out and share my thoughts.
It's a good Idee! It's all about the primaries, and those deadlines are sneaking up fast! I put the link in the description so interested folks can check their states deadline.
HON. - Dr. Ron Paul for KING OF THE WORLD! Let's Ghetto-boom box-blast Ron Paul's ass to presidency and then catch with a feather soft pillow because we like him so much and he's our friend! LET'S DO IT!
I love moms who vote while their kids are in school. I wait until the kids are out of school and take them. It is a PARTY! Look, this is what we do!!!
Last election: "Mom who are you voting for?" "Well, if you listen to the rhetoric, it's between a nut case or pinko commie." "I like pink." "I like nuts." "I know--tough decisions have to be made...."
Have you been to Iraq? Because I can line up people who say you suck mule dick on the weekend, but that doesn't mean it's true. You vote your way, but don't try and speak for me.
At first I thought you said "Aren't syringes wonderful", I thought you were sharing how you obtained enlightment LOL But yes, I feel yours and other Tubers vibes at times, or maybe that's just the computer emitting radiation? :P
yeah but ron paul is against taxes etc etc etc even less social welfare???? jesus i dont think america needs even more social tragedies.... but well thats just me...
and im really sorry but you lost that opportunity a couple of years ago... being against the war only when its so obviously disastrous and not before isnt very impressive.
that being said, god bless america. und Deutscland, naturlich.
so what???? so did kucinich & co.. doesnt mean shit.
as an european, i can assure you that if your medicare sucks thats your own fault LOLOLOLOLOL even in poor backward ex fascist just pratically 3rd world portugal no one dies for not having an insurance, everyone gets free colledge, etc etc etc etc etc etc
i'm not canadian. i'm american. (though i didn't call myself either.) i think the war is awful. it's always been awful. i also think socialism is awful. it's always been awful. i'm also quite poor. i have crap insurance through my job like everyone else and i belive there is a better system. IT'S NOT the governments job to take care of me. just take care of my freedom. personal responsibilty.
yes sorry i misread the post. man socialism is what it is; i dont see the relation LOLOLOL there are no socialist countries in europe since 1991.
you think its not the governments job, i feel for you. i KNOW its my governments job to care for me. personal responsability yes, barbarism no.
and leyt me tell while were at it that this view you guys have on what exactly is a social state and what are its features is the reason you guys have so much crime.
the lack of a very.... peculiar kind of solidarity, the kind that can only be developed by the knowledge that our taxes pay for each others well being, is the reason you have such a social unrest. im not saying this out of the blue, its widely studied by all kinds of intellectuals, including americans. man im sorry but institutionalized solidarity is a sighn of civilization i believe.
And how do you propose we effectively move towards institutionalized solidarity? You're comments certainly don't seem to ring of it's charm. Last time I checked it wasn't laughing in the face of positive effort.
oh... and more taxes, specially income taxes. maybe im too european LOL i do believe that freedom only is freedom when it comes with responsability and that the "less government" bs is exactly that, bs. the government must take care of its own citizens, not leaving them to their luck and then throwing them in prison because they smoked a joint.
man anyway it would take an enormous discourse i hadnt read your post right anyway sorry to bother and all the best
Our current governments idea of taking care of us is similar to when the mafia says, pssst "take care of them". Ron Paul wants to encourage us to take care of ourselves and get back to individual accountability. No one should be imprisoned for smoking a joint and if you look back at Ron Paul's track record he's all about abolishing the war on drugs and legalizing alternative medicines.
Voting for Mike Gravel, for 2 reasons, Ron Paul doesnt believe in net neutrality and Ron Paul doesnt believe in the seperation of church and state via his artical "The War on Religion."

Dennis Kucinich has a better plan: to get rid of insurance companies and make it not for profit, free for everyone.

damn, i used to think you were just a goofy guy that made cool videos but every time i hear you make a political statement i see how much we share views. I love Ron Paul and am glad you are using your influence to make a difference. Besides Iraq i also like Paul's struggle to get rid of the fed. if you look into the history on that you might find it even more disturbing than the war in Iraq.
ptobcracker 4 years ago
Thanks! Ron Paul has an interesting history indeed. His presidential platform in 88' was nearly identical to the one he has now, he's educated, well informed, and certainly qualified for the job.
joelovesyou 4 years ago
Thanks Joe. I particularly liked what Jeremy Scahill had to say. Watched all 4 parts of his speech.
IAGuy06 4 years ago
Jeremy Scahill, now there's someone who did their homework. What's amazing is that most of these organizations make public their records of unlawfulness. We're lucky to have people like him digging up the facts and getting us closer to outing the corruption.

@TheGiantRobot, you do know that the GOP leadership ordered Republicans midway through the vote to vote against tabling, don't you? And the Dems freaked and scrambled to table it.
Good luck divining the intent of individual votes on that one.
dreamcore 4 years ago
Good point to address, dreamcore, and thanks for the luck. Let's see:
Paul may have voted to table because he was opposed to considering impeachment. Or, he may have done so to preserve the Democratic neocons from a potentially uncomfortable position Paul's friend Kucinich put them in.
I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this one.

great man :) I am living/working in Mexico at the moment (US citizen).. I wish i was up there now to have fun like you said. the energy seems awesome around Dr Paul. I think this has potential to be great moment in History. True there are many biases to work against but it can be done. And hey if we dont try we dont deserve the right to bitch when the shit hits the fan.

2. 500 billion in war funding... For What?
3. Gas at $4 per gallon.
4. A decimated middle class.
5. Bush tried to sell our ports to Dubai
6. A worthless dollar.
7. Rising crime.
8. Endless GOP scandals.
What will it take for you to stop sucking that Bush Dick?

It's true...Ron Paul has the most support - we all need to come together...it's time to realize that if the Gravel's, Tancredo's, Hunter's and Kucinich folks came together with us - WE WOULD scare the s*** out of the establishment for sho!

Very fun. Out of curiosity... have you ever considered the Green Party????? They've been fighting this fight for a long time and this year have made significant strides. They stand for localized control and - quite obviously - no war. Just an idea for all you Jon Paulites, who think immediate withdrawel is the most important issue.

I also want someone who's going to aim for a platform of environmental sustainability and social reponsibility. Not necessarily the tree-huggin type - though I DO hug trees.

Voter fraud certainly is real, but if we bum rush the show we stand a chance. There is a risk he could win. It'd be great to see the corporations shaking in their boots.

babushkabuddha 4 years ago
@ babushkabuddha
Thats the dumbest excuse ever! I'm so tired of hearing people saying essentially that they want to leave the neocons in power. The only way to beat them is to promote a good republican. Not doing so will lead to more bush dynasty bullshit!
dingusmungus 4 years ago
wow. sarcasm + joke + republicans = DANGER!
its not even a battle of republican vs. democratic. its good vs. evil and i think ron paul would make a great president. he's #2 on my list mostly because my #1 isn't sponsored by billion dollar corporations. and soo.. i leave you with this.
take a joke and ask before judging. thank you and i will see you at the voting ballot! xox
babushkabuddha 4 years ago
It's important we don't loose our sense of humor in all this, and have fun with this process. It's designed intention is to separate us, the monkey wrench would be to stick together!
joelovesyou 4 years ago
Well you have two choices in parties and they're both now represented by Neo cons-- people who subscribe to a political philosphy started by hawkish liberals who jumped parties in during the height of the cold war because aggressive militarialism and who now can be numbered again among democrates, e.g. Hillary Clinton the new Democrat neocon.
TexasRounder 4 years ago
If Ron Paul wins the Republican nomination than that party just became the party reprsenting goodness and light-- what you don't want to vote for goodness and light? You want both parties firmly controlled by neocons? Support the person fighting the neocons and then support the party that supports him.
TexasRounder 4 years ago
Well said and with such passion. I love your idea to get young people out there voting by making it their scene. Obviously I'm here in England so it's not my vote but how the vote goes affects the world and I too feel passionately about this. Cheers Lesley

Thanks Lesley! This is such an opportune time in political history with the advent of user based websites like this and the doors opening for the free flow of thoughts transcending most borders and the bridges to synergetic harmony being built. yeah but ron paul is against taxes etc etc etc even less social welfare???? jesus i dont think america needs even more social tragedies.... but well thats just me...
and im really sorry but you lost that opportunity a couple of years ago... being against the war only when its so obviously disastrous and not before isnt very impressive.
that being said, god bless america. und Deutscland, naturlich.

ron paul voted against the patriot act.
ask a canadian, socialized medicare sucks.

so what???? so did kucinich & co.. doesnt mean shit.
as an european, i can assure you that if your medicare sucks thats your own fault LOLOLOLOLOL even in poor backward ex fascist just pratically 3rd world portugal no one dies for not having an insurance, everyone gets free colledge, etc etc etc etc etc etc
fight for your rights lol

and what unpatriotic of you, calling yourslef american when youre canadian!!!!! lol or... youre not canadian LOL makes sense
madbcc 4 years ago
i'm not canadian. i'm american. (though i didn't call myself either.) i think the war is awful. it's always been awful. i also think socialism is awful. it's always been awful. i'm also quite poor. i have crap insurance through my job like everyone else and i belive there is a better system. IT'S NOT the governments job to take care of me. just take care of my freedom. personal responsibilty.
sabastianthelion 4 years ago
yes sorry i misread the post. man socialism is what it is; i dont see the relation LOLOLOL there are no socialist countries in europe since 1991.
you think its not the governments job, i feel for you. i KNOW its my governments job to care for me. personal responsability yes, barbarism no.
and leyt me tell while were at it that this view you guys have on what exactly is a social state and what are its features is the reason you guys have so much crime.
madbcc 4 years ago 2
the lack of a very.... peculiar kind of solidarity, the kind that can only be developed by the knowledge that our taxes pay for each others well being, is the reason you have such a social unrest. im not saying this out of the blue, its widely studied by all kinds of intellectuals, including americans. man im sorry but institutionalized solidarity is a sighn of civilization i believe.
but thats just me, dont hate me please
madbcc 4 years ago 2
And how do you propose we effectively move towards institutionalized solidarity? You're comments certainly don't seem to ring of it's charm. Last time I checked it wasn't laughing in the face of positive effort.
p.s. I love you.
joelovesyou 4 years ago
no you werent and frankly the video is great, thank you for sharing. im sorry i drink too much cofee when im studying. i drifted. sorry.
and all the best
madbcc 4 years ago
and i love you too
madbcc 4 years ago
oh... and more taxes, specially income taxes. maybe im too european LOL i do believe that freedom only is freedom when it comes with responsability and that the "less government" bs is exactly that, bs. the government must take care of its own citizens, not leaving them to their luck and then throwing them in prison because they smoked a joint.
man anyway it would take an enormous discourse i hadnt read your post right anyway sorry to bother and all the best
madbcc 4 years ago
Our current governments idea of taking care of us is similar to when the mafia says, pssst "take care of them". Ron Paul wants to encourage us to take care of ourselves and get back to individual accountability. No one should be imprisoned for smoking a joint and if you look back at Ron Paul's track record he's all about abolishing the war on drugs and legalizing alternative medicines.
