  • This song is beautiful

  • The two minutes of this sing give me chills.

  • love this recording, love lea aswell, this one is easier to sing to as most the ones of lea on youtube are live so have clapping and wooing

  • Whoever this is singing - she is wonderful. Very dramatic. Beautiful voice.

  • Doing Miss Saigon for my school production its so much fun singing the end bit of this song :)

  • singing this for an exam, good luck for me...

  • @TheJimjamgemma This might sound strange. But you should get someone to film it and upload it. I would be very interested in that. Send me a message if you do. :) Thanks. :)

  • @TheJimjamgemma as am I, good luck! :)

  • Yeah, this is not Lea Salonga. It's hard to get her voice mistaken for someone else. This is some understudy.

  • @acuison1 This is not some "understudy," this is Joanna Ampil, who was chosen for the Symphonic Recording over Lea Salonga. Dozens of women have played this lead role in major theaters besides Lea.

  • The ending is depressing :(

  • I feel like everyone just like's Lea's version better because she's famous. I love Lea too but I'm not a huge fan of her rendition of this song. I think Joanna's voice is bigger and has more intensity than Lea's does in this song.

  • @sugarhoneyicedtea123 I like Lea's rendition not because she's famous, but because her voice is superb and superior to most vocalists out there. Fame isn't always a factor when it comes to preference.

  • @sugarhoneyicedtea123 Honestly, I like both Lea Salonga AND Joanna Ampil. I don't judge either singer. They both did good jobs in my opinion and here's why:

    1. Lea Salonga originated the role and started playing it at 17 years old (London) and 19 (Broadway.) Lea Salonga tends to do better with emotion in her roles.

    2. Joanna Ampil played the role from 1993-1995 and is a few years younger than Lea Salonga. In my opinion, she has better vibrato.

  • Joanna Ampil is so much better than Lea Salonga.

  • @stevethepirate78 you are surely deaf

  • @MrDomokun28 Lea Salonga has a pretty voice, but she's not a good actress, and it shows in her musical theater singing. Lea fangirls/boys are hardcore, so I'm sure you overlook that easily. Have fun with that.

  • I like this singer too. :D She does sound similiar to Lea. Not completely, but the interpretation sounds like Lea Salonga with a bit of an accent.

  • THis is the only show these lyrics would taken seriously in because of the trauma, otherwise thy would just sound cliche.

  • Beautiful.I cry everytime i hear this song.

  • this is part of the same cast recording that i had to listen to for the last 5 months to learn all of kims songs! :) listening to this gives me chills.... and i love how theres totally a phantom of the opera-esque instrumental part at the end LOL

  • I like the song, but I hate the singer.

  • Such a Beautiful Song <3

  • I believe this is Joanna Ampil.

  • @JeddtheJedi your right. the Kim in this album is Joanna Ampil.. :)

  • the lyrics to this song can end you

  • this song is so much like part of a sasusaku fanfic i wrote

  • I like Lea's version more....

  • @Maranedy because she is the real KIM... hehehe. I love her rendition of Miss Saigon repertoire...

  • @Maranedy To each their own. Both versions are good in their own ways.

Lea Salonga's has great emotion to it and was recorded when she was in her teens (in fact it was the role that made her famous.)

Joanna Ampil's version has a stronger vibrato to it.

  • @rikkulockhart15 Righto. Rock on sweetheart.

    *thumbs up*

  • The ending is so intense....I'm new to this musical, I totally wasn't expecting that!!

  • SUPERLIKE! thanks for the upload

  • This is not Lea Salonga. It's Monique Wilson, Lea's understudy in west end.

  • @JoeyPNYC where can i find lea's version? can't find it. T.T

  • @inthedark1439 just search i'd give my life for you lea salonga and you'll find it!

  • @JoeyPNYC this is actually Joanna Ampil, its the Cameron Mackintosh recording.

  • Great voice, Lea Salonga

    it's awsome, touching my heart

  • Who is singing this? The original is Lea Salonga and this isn't the recording of her singing...so...
