  • thats cool

  • Great Stuff Micky. Just bought a Carter starter (in the UK) after playing guitar for 40 years - Your stuff is just the sounds that got me into it, and just the right level. Marvellous!

  • Great version of the intro. I'm a novice, always looking for more but not near enough time to practice. Live in Mt. Juliet. Steel friends are Mike Johnson, Russ Danmeyer, Scotty Sanders. You mentioned as you named pedals in this one . . . A - F meaning a knee lever?

  • OMG! That is confusing!! I love Rythm guitar, which I can play, but wow, that is amazing!! So is your video!! I always wanted to try steel...:-)

    Merry Christmas!!

  • Probably out of line here, but here goes. There's hundreds of great pedal steel stuff on record - mine just happens to be Jerry Garcia's intro (especially) and entire line through CSNY's "Teach your Children." I guess it wasn't done in front of a camera, and I've worn out two or three vinyls Is there any chance at all that the original is on video anywhere,or that you could be persuaded to cover it? I'd eternally grateful...

  • Its already here...Check all my videos...LOL

  • Thanks - helped some. Guess what I meant was - I have a forlorn hope that there was a camera for the CSNY session. I "spect it was in a studio with maybe several sessions and separate tracks and mixed down for the released record. Thanks again...

  • do you know how to play the steel part in tonight the bottle let me down?

  • Yes...Looking for it?....thanks...Mickey

  • yep, i am a begining player and it's one of my favorites, your videos have helped me progress so much already

  • yea i want that one to...thanks Mickey

  • Hi Mickey, I am a semi-retired steel player. The problem with this song is a lot of ignorant pickup bands just kick it off with a 1-5-1 change cause they don't have a fiddle player. So you go in and say I am going to play it like the fiddle player does and it becomes a disaster. Of course they are probably plenty of bands who wouldn't have a problem with it but I am referring to those pickup gigs where you wish you didnt take the job but your financial situation required it. Pete

  • LOL..I went through this same experience a few weeks ago.....After playing about a dozen songs completely wrong...The singer said "Big City"!...Finally I thought we would hit one on the button...And when I got to the 5 chord...the whole band was back on the 1.......TRAIN WRECK!...Oh well...I just continued drinking Crown Royal....It took the pain away....Mick

  • Though I'm not a steel player, I must say these videos are great. If I had a pedal steel, this would be great for me. Really nice video.

  • SUPER HELPFULL. I just wish my Sho-bud maverick had that great of a sound! Thank you Mickey!

  • Hey Adam...what are you playing it through?.....tell me about your lever configuration......Mickey

  • yep yep keep it coming
