  • neat how it still ran 6 secs after the rod blew, then he shut it off.

  • They remove the starter just to loose some weight.

  • why do they have to be started like that?

  • @Dubbledeehonkey im not 100% sure but I think its because there is not enough room for a starter, they need all the space they can get.

  • fake, gs's never throw rods

  • @StreetSurfinn

Anything will toss a rod...except a rotary engine of course.

  • I see Parts!

  • i dont see any oil from it though

  • @musiclovr2

LOL maybe it didn't have any oil in it :)

  • I had one of those old Yamaha 650 twins...one of the ones that looked like a Triumph...I just changed the oil in it... Checked all my torque on the oil plug...it was tight..routine thing I had done a 1000 times..

Was riding down the highway and a rod let loose... before I had a chance to react...the bike and I were going down...I was sliding in the direction of a big rig...well he hit the brakes, and I skid under the trailer in to a ditch...That sucked..I almost died that day..

  • @scott93257 how many miles were on that 650? damn man glad your alright

  • @StreetSurfinn Thanks man...Yeah Glad to be here...That was one scary day....Fortunately I had my leathers on and they did their job...i came away with a small scratch on my nose from a piece of gravel that made its way in to my helmet...

The 650 had about 130,000 on it... it ran great...I still have the bike but haven't replaced the motor just yet...It's sort of like a reminder of what happened and how I could have left this earth...and seeing the grill of that big rig. THAT was scary.
