That's how Anime works, most studios don't care for adaptations and just have to do them to get by so they can afford to make original series. You also have to take into account say the Director wants to add or change something to make it more suitable to watch there can be conflict.
Also reminds me of a funny joke about animators only wanting to draw tits and crotches and in consequence none of them no longer know how to draw feet (seriously check out some anime lately)
