Cavett is all about himself,Frank is on a completly different level than him.Who would let this baloon interview any Artist when he understands absolutly nothing.
@Nautilus1972 Frank wasn't hard to interview. Hendrix wasn't that bad either. He did a lot of drugs his intellect was limited. Hendrix was a fuckin burn out in that interview, so was his performance.
looking at old interviews...artists of all kind were very smart back in the days...now I see interviews and they suck...whatever happens to intelligence!
I'm usually a huge fan of irony but when Frank mentions cancer (before he knew he had it) it makes me very sad. :(( RIP you fucking genius- you're one of my biggest heroes..
Nice interview. Nice for once to hear the person being interviewed more than the guy doing the interview. Especially if the guy being interviewed is Zappa
god, what he says about liking/disliking music at around 5 minutes is SPOT ON! oh, and to all zappa fans, i have only listened to a couple of his songs but really wanna get into him, what album would you recommend me to start at? preferably something prog-rock or fusion jazz like. thanks!
@superkulmedkniv25 Yes! Blessed Relief is one of the nicest original jazz compositions I've ever heard. It's up there with Davis and other famous JAZZ composers, and it's FZ. I love Zappa. Do yourself a favor and go buy/download Hot Rats, Waka Jawaka, The Grand Wazoo, Apostraphe, Overnite Sensation, Zoot Allures, Shut Up n Play Yer Guitar, Sheik Yerbouti... pretty much everything he did in the 1970's.
@kevinherbert Look, this kind of censorship and intimidation that Zappa talks about, pitifully (and laughably) weak as it was from the ADL is very much alive and effectual for CAIR and their anti-Jewish Muslim allies.
@horsie111 : you're confusing anti Zionist with with anti Jewish. People around the globe generally aren't anti-Jewish any more than they're anti Catholic or anti Protestant. or anti Bhuddist

No, that would be too good for them. And it wouldn't make the world a better place. They would pull the same crap somewhere else or finance our enemies. We need to try them for treason or just bring a rope.
The only one who comes close to Cavett today is Charlie Rose, I guess.

Ah, the old days when interviewers actually asked pertinent questions and listened to the answers instead of just trying to crack jokes all the time.
Zappa once said about his children's 'weird' names: "If they have any problems with their names in the future, it'll be because of 'Zappa'".

I feel sorry for Dick, he was a huge fan of people that were really hard to interview like Frank and Marlon Brando, Hendrix .....
Watch his Brando interview if you haven't seen it ....

An incisive mind. Many people NOT in the public eye think well. Frank had the balls to think well no matter what the public thought.
