hey! thanks for the vid, it helped alot. I have a problem though. i'm attempting to also record on audacity, but the quality is terrible and i don't know how to fix that. do you have any ideas?
@beastlyorion No I am not sure what to say. How do you mean the quality is terrible? It should be the same as recording in Reaper. I have used Audacity with POD Farm too. What are you trying to use in POD Farm? What amps?
this video definitely influenced me to buy this. i've been looking into the UX2 model for awhile now and this video answered all my questions. but can you explain to me what the difference between the POD GX and the POD UX2? i'm only looking for a quick great way to record guitar.
@wiiguitar360 The GX has only one guitar plug in. The UX2 has the capability of recording two guitars at one and has plugin's for microphones. Only get it if you are planning to do this. The GX suits my purposes just fine. I only need to record one guitar at a time.
@yarisikder Oh yeah!! They have expansion packs and if you love metal, the Metal Shop expansion is a MUST. you get some KILLER AMPS. You get an emulated 5150 amp dubbed "Criminal"
Hello, I am just starting to play guitar CAn you please help me Should I buy an amp or this I want to play metal. There is just one problem my computer isnt that great my speakers are good. CAn you please help me can my pc handle this. And I want to play while another song is playing is it possible with this? PLease help me
@unbokser You will have to check out the Line6 site to know what your PC can handle. I have a 2.1 processor with 4GB (now 8GB) and it works just fine. You gotta lower the buffering speed though.
@BurnThePriestDead Yes, but you won't be able to use POD Farm as a standalone program. I would recommend using their interface for least latency as possible.
Some one please help!!! i have a pod gx and im in pod farm and it senses my guitar audio but its not play through my speakers and ive tried everything! what tha fuck?!
@DylonIsTehName I think you need to update. Perhaps you have the 2.50 version? There was a workaround for it, but you can upgrade to 2.51 with Line 6 Monkey and it should fix the problem; provided that is the problem. Otherwise, be sure all volume levels and routing are valid.
@BlckSbthMan Sorry for not clarifying. Have put an annotation to fix that. Yes, you still need some sort of interface. Line 6 offers a few different packages, but I have the smallest one - GX. You need one of their interfaces. They have the GX, UX1, UX2, KB37, and Toneport UX8. These all work with POD Farm. It's according to your preference.
@EpiphoneLPJrGuitar That is a known issue. I had that but it all of a sudden started working right. Check Line6's website for a workaround. But I think the workaround involves unplugging the USB while POD Farm is open, plugging back in, and then selecting your hardware in Preferences. Check for an update with Line 6 Monkey. Mine says it has a 2.51 version out right now. I just haven't upgraded it yet. I'll bet they fixed it in the new version.
@EpiphoneLPJrGuitar :( I don't know. You might google it. Because so long as you are hooked up to the computer and all, you should be okay. Going to church camp tomorrow...so i won't be able to continue to help. Just so you know. :)
@nemo5cosmo I was having the same problems as you too. I think those software items are things you have to buy. I just gave up on it, so I don't guess I'll be including more advanced tutorials. I don't know how to use them.
Thank you very much! I should be able to start rock'n as soon as i get my POD. I have to say that the equalizer and other more complicated gear was a little confusing because i've never used them before, but this was a very useful tutorial. How much was the metal expansion you bought?

Could you just use the laptop speakers to hear the guitar?

@JakeAndNoahPlay To be honest I have never figured out how to do that. In theory it could work.

@TheFireball100 When you select speakers for PodFarm select the laptop speakers. I'd be interested if you could find out for me!

@JakeAndNoahPlay I don't think it's possible. I can't get my computer to do that. Maybe I just can't do it on my laptop.

Thanks for taking the time and putting together a well rounded tutorial.
I just purchased the UX1 w/POD Farm 2 but I can't seem to integrate the Ableton and Riff Works.
Will you be doing any advanced tutorial where you can walk us through the additional recording capabilities POD Farm comes with?
Again, thanks for the time you spent on a great tutorial.

Try to get a better mic or reduce the noise. The high-pitched noise was a bit too much for my ears.
