Just appreciate the singing, singer and the orchestra. Please stop comparing two western singer, which none of them are even close to our own 3th rate singers as far as persian songs concerns. obviously these two which is mentioned are not singing Iranian songs, they are reading notes , so please enjoy once and forget about it. Thank you.
In my opinion, Dinah Shore was a significantly better singer than Madonna. Dinah Shore had a very light voice which kind of floats. Of course, Madonna is an excellent song writer and dancer.
Madonna and Dinah Shore are not even in the same league. Madonna had to resort to scandal and smuttiness to get attention-and her singing is limited at best.

Dick: Persia was great. Your Mullahs suck donkey balls and pig penises. So when it's Persia instead of a fascist prison camp, you just let us know, Sparky.
Israel wags the American dog. I wish more prople could truly get to know Arabic and Persian culture and stop believing this terr'st nonesence. Our biggest threat is the Wall Street scheisters and their governmental enablers. A'Qaida has about 300-members left. NAMBLA has over 100,000. Which is the bigger threat to your family? Dinah Shore could sing the birds out of the trees, BTW
@planetrob555 Interestingly enough, perhaps no singer more embodied the All-American lady like Dinah Shore. Check out her rendition of the famouse "See the USA in a Chverolet" commercial song. Not that having an apreciation for Persian culture makes one unpatriotic . . .
@DickAllen4HOF Not sure why you'd even bring this up, but Arabic and Persian/Iranian culture have nothing in common, and most Iranians hate Arabs. Al-Qaida is a militant Sunni organization; 90+% of Iranians are Twelver Shi'a. In the 1950s (when this video was presumably recorded) Iran was a US puppet state. Most Persians today resent the Arabs that flocked to their country after the 1979 revolution, and admit life was better under the Shah.
@GermanOperaSinger I neither hate or fear Arabs or Persians. BTW IMO The late great Hildegard Behrens was the greatest German soprano ever. I loved the tone and texture of her voice and applaud how well she captured even the most complex Wagnerian and R. Strauss roles. What do you think?
Anyone know the name of this song in english?? Would like to have a go at singing it? Cheers, Laurel, Abu Dhabi.

she sounds like she learned it phonetically. Can't recognize some of her words.
Still beautiful though.

She did this. Why?
9duryea9 2 years ago
Because it's a classic. Other countries have their own classics, and sometimes someone likes the sound of them. Easy.

Beautiful... too bad if this aired today the right wing would flag her as a terrorist supporter... ah well.
