Not instant on, this is a low output Multanova Speed Camera (0.5mW vs your average dash mounted unit which is 50mW) so it is very difficult to detect. I found the X50 to provide very good detection range when mounted vertically so definitely try it that way.
yea i jst bought one should be coming in the mail soon..found a website that sells the vertical mounts...even though there are no mutanova cameras where i live (New York state usa) should give a little more range on radar
Vertical bracket only works for horizontally polarised radar, [pretty much] all dash mounted units have circular polarisation so the vertical bracket won't help you, but it may reduce the off-axis performance of your detector.
i got an X50 and its sucking with radars...im talking 30-40m detection....Im going to try it this way...
