Yeah, as much as I hate to say it, this was a prime example of WCW trying valiantly to keep the company going but failing. Even with a megastar like Hogan it took the NWO to do the trick, and man, did it ever do the trick. WCW actually beat the WWE on more than one Monday night. I think that the NWO thing gave WCW the proper send off that it deserved. The idea was so brilliant that Vince actually used it as well! Of course it didn't work quite as well for him. actually not at all - the sting and austin angles were well done and thought out for months ahead of time. sting would randomly come down and attack the heels with his bat, austin would be up against vince, patterson, brisco and then dude love, and whoever else vince threw his way. not the entire wwe roster of heels.
