I don't own a sled but would hate to be on the recieving end of a loss of control at that speed! ow wee ow wee mommy...probably be just a pinkish cloud in the air!
glasseater90- man i got a xcr 440 that will do a 111 mph and its all stock bud. and i got a sno pro 440 race sled that puts out more power than your ski-doo does. but your right it does have smaller gears so it doesnt have a high top speed. but they have alot more power than you think they do.
and it isnt that hard for a sled to hit that speed. its all in the gears, porting, clutch, and what octane you run in your sled. so meng stop hating and accpet it lol
The gps are not correct, they can differ up or down by 10 when you are accelerating and if you have it held at a speed for abought 12 seconds they can still be out by aroung 8 .I do have a couple gps and a radar gun but i took my 08 XP 800 and my 2010 AC turbo to Hay Days and on the XP the speedo says-121mph...ya ok.and gps-117mph but the real thing is the radar-"109mph"...2010 AC turbo speedo-145mph .gps-102 radar-127mph..and they claim this to be a 137mps sled....still trying.
@hummerh2inmud, i doubt you hit 127 on your turbo, unless its got a hijacker in it. 120 at the most, they clamed 137mph in the quarter mile on asphalt with stock motor, ie. more boost then stock and gears with clutch work, gears max out at 130mph on a stock diamond drive
i think you misread the gps, the 440s are geared low, as in less top speed, my rev 600ho can't break 105 on the speedo with the exhaust i have, it used to hit around 110-112 on the speedo (or roughly 100-105mph in real life)
not to mention the 440s don't make as much power as a 600 or 800, BUT they are lighter... but not light enough to hit over 100, or even over 95
there is no way you can mis read a gps, it was about a mile and a half long graven road with a light powder on top, and me and my dad were racin and i had the gps with me and it said 107 mph
@kregto yeah, in the clutching, and i have my carbs bored, and i drilled it to where the gas and air spun together. and there jetted. so i have done up carbs, and clutch work.
camera mans got balls to sit there on a sled and record when right next to him theres a sled going 110

there is just no way a 440 can go that fast my friend has one and it barely pushes 90 and my dads mxz600 and my firecat600 don't go over 105-110.

mxz440skidoo 2 years ago
440 doesn't have enough power to push 107 unless its on the speedometer... not gps... or you misread what it said
glasseater90 2 years ago
no, it was on gps, and the mods were like octane booster, 107 studs, and woodys racing carbides

@glasseater90 My older brother had a REV 440 and the top speed where about 80-85 mph
I don't remember the exact speed but it was GPS measured so i think it's pretty accurate
DampeLill 11 months ago
@glasseater90 yea they are geared for acceleration more than speed
BADASSED88 2 months ago
@glasseater90 lower gearing means more top end, higher gearing means more rmps for a shorter top end
TheHondaAbuser 1 year ago
@TheHondaAbuser by lower gearing i didn't mean numerically lower, i meant speed-wise its lower, i know how gearing works, trust me lol
glasseater90 1 year ago
@TheHondaAbuser your dead wrong ahah, low gearing = speed now , higher gearing = more speed but takes longer to get there
ttaayylloorrll 10 months ago
@ttaayylloorrll no its the exact oposite.
TheHondaAbuser 10 months ago
@TheHondaAbuser low gearing is bottom end, bottom end is fast now. ya just correct a mechanic fucktard

ttaayylloorrll 9 months ago
@glasseater90 I agree, that looked like 90 max...get a radar gun....your tach if 10mph faster then ur actual speed.
