wow i guess at&t sucks in the states?!?! thank god at&t works over here in puerto rico were VERIZON doesnt exist over here no verizon nada...i got a samsung skyrocket anf since at&t turned on LTE in PR i have gotten speeds up to 55 mbps sure they will go down over time but i dont care cuz even hspa+ 3G is fast over here in an area were i got 3G i got speeds up to 9 mbps i think ima like this oh and i had ZERO dropped calls im the last month.. so yea at&t works fine in PR.
Wake up people! It may be "4G" because it's speeds we never seen in a device before, but it's NOT true 4G! The ITU is the governing authority on what's what in the communications world, and they classified the current implementation of "4G" as 3G. This FauxG doesn't comply with the standard put out by the ITU. Real 4G speeds are in excess of 1Gbit/s down and 500Mbit/s up (the actual standard), and the only standard that has done that is LTE Advanced.
@CpVideoMaker101 Thumbs up your head. You got brainwashed by apple to think that hspa+ is 4g when clearly it's not. It's only 3.5g to be exact. Real 4G is only LTE.
@iAnimationProduction Let Me Re-say it again "What I Meant is The AT&T Markets HSPA+ As 4G. They Even Tried To Talk To Apple For It To Say 4G insted of 3G."
Who gets to say what is "3G" vs "4G"? The ITU requirements for "true" 4G, the so-called IMT-advanced requirements, are currently only met by LTE-Advanced (the next generation of LTE) and WiMaX 2.
HSPA+ is fast 3G, it can deliver UP TO 14.4 mb/s or 21 mb/s down is AT&T adds the back haul to that area. The numbers are just the maximum, not the guaranteed, thats why even when you're phone says H+ its still slow.
LTE is a 4G technology, it can deliver really fast speeds depending on back haul, users, and the amount of spectrum being used in that area.
AT&T is trying to lie and push HSPA+ as 4G, the iPhone 4S has(UP TO) 14.4 mb/s HSPA+ which is why its listed.
I have the iPhone 4s on AT&T and had the HTC inspire before which is a hspa+ phone. And my speeds are way faster on my iPhone. Because of the dual antenna.
OK AT&T your "4G HSPA +" network in my area hardly delivers 1mbps... lets hope LTE can actually deliver... I have a feeling LTE will take a long time to get to my area... We didn't even have 3G the first WHOLE year the iPhone 3G was out...
@mcj108: I'm FEELIN' YA, man; luckily, I bought mine just two weeks ago from Walmart and kept it in perfect condition JUST in case something better would drop in for the Holidays; Walmart cost $50 less, AND gave a 30-day return policy! Guess who's getting their PHONE BACK in seven days????

The current system used by AT&T and Verizon is LTE 3GPP (key phrase: 3G), and does not comply with the actual 4G standard

Funny how they showcase the iphone and ipad as capable devices of 4g network when clearly it's not.
iAnimationProduction 2 months ago
The iPhone is listed because it's capable of 4G HSPA+.
Also, the iPad can be explainable that it's using a mobile hot-spot.

@CpVideoMaker101 HSPDA+ is NOT 4G. Dude! get your facts right. The only real 4G is LTE. Everything else is marketing brainwash.

@lsixteenthl iPhone 4S is considered to be "4G" because the download can go up to 14.4 MBPS which is the expectation for 4G network.
UnknownFPS 4 months ago
@UnknownFPS
HSPA+ starts with the download Speed of 21,6 Mbps. So the iPhone isn't a 4G at all!
symbians60user 4 months ago
@symbians60user no hspa+ offers up to 21 mbps. it doesnt start at it. matter of fact most of the hspa+ phones get like 3 or 4 mbps.
