  • One tree hill season one brought me here! netflix instant rocks

  • I just want to say I really love this video. It's beautiful. I don't know how I described it earlier to make my comment offensive enough to get removed...but okay. o_O

    It sounds profound.

  • its true, but communication is a KEY for everything. So can we still talk, if you want to ? Anwer, if you can.

  • boring. Phil Spector did'nt help. He coulda given them a change, or a middle 8...

  • Can't top francescafoley's comment ;)

  • @arappabugzappa

    hey, how about fuck off.

  • @meinLiebsterFeind No, that's okay, feel free to go suck a railroad spike though. Asshole.

  • Another Phil Spector production that went to the top.

  • great band most of there songs are growers luv that

  • speaks to me x

  • one of the best bands ever beautiful songs

  • Yep astroboirap, they "dissabeared" the two albums after this one must've been from Starbailor

  • kinda looks like ashton kutcher .. =] i love this song.

  • heard this song in ONE TREE HILL!!! WHICH IS THE BEST SHOW EVER

  • very cheesy... no wonder they dissabeared off the face of the earth

  • I saw James Walsh perform live, and since then I have been addicted to Starsailor, this is one of my favourite songs by them.

  • Did Spector produce this one...He may be a crazy F%cker, but man he can produce a song.......double edged sword that he produced this..Nothing has topped it..

  • @anismenger Yup, he did.

  • @anismenger Along with White Dove, by the way. After that, he left because of ''creative differences''.

  • Thanks mate

  • where is that beautiful boy gone ?

  • I don't want to move house but still i have to remain silent

  • such a good song and vid... and so relatable!

  • Oh my God, this reminds me of the 7th grade

  • CHINGONA ESA ROLA !!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song was produced by Phil Spector.

  • easily in my top 10!

  • this song takes me back, it reminds me off when i killed my first dead hooker, mmmm, happpy times

  • how can you kill something that is already dead :S

  • Silence is easy!!!!!!

    It just becomes me!!!!!!

  • What a voice

  • never gets oldddd

  • God, I love this band!

  • fuckin class

  • Silêncio é tão facil !

    eu amo essa canção !

    Brasil ^^

  • silence is easy!!!!!!!!!!

  • What an underrated band!!!

    Great song.

Was hooked on these for a good few years.

  • 4 albums... several very very good songs. Definitley not a one hit wonder in my eyes.

  • I just love how he pauses for a couple of seconds when he gets grabbed and yelled at 0:54-1:04 :D

    Then he carries on xD

  • This is Starsailor' best song of all time!!

  • @TheFreshy1979 one of the best. i still love way to fall and love is here alot too

  • @TheFreshy1979 indeed you are right

  • one tree hill!

  • I think the point of the song is fairly obvious. It's about being a celebrity or public figure in general, and people talking about you. "I can still let it go, I can still learn to grow", is like saying "fuck it" when an article is published about you that isn't true. "You don't even know me, you all lie about me." Ect.

  • not sure man, I don't really hear any Oasis in here. any songs in particular you had in mind?

  • its a song about what the media say about the band /singer without knowing the facts as he does not say much to the media and they make shit up . its a british thing .

  • I agree, 'Stereophonics - The Writer' springs to mind.

  • I really believe this has a lot to do with being introverted. In the beginning it is talking about others needing help( or saying they do), knowing you can help, but stepping back and being silent because that is who you are, then trying to justify it to yourself for not saying(doing) anything. It also talks about how others assume they know what you want/need even though they know nothing about you.

  • great

  • I think the vid may have a bit to do about introversion

  • this isn't whiny at all ....

  • the video means what the lyrics say. silence is easy. dont talk if you dont have anything to say

  • Don't drop the soap Spector!

  • Wicked tune

  • Hi love this song bt can sme1 plz explain wot the video means

    thanks

  • Wow, must listen to the rest of their songs, see if Spector producing made that much difference

  • He actually only ended up producing 2 songs of this album. This one and White Dove. The sessions went badly, Spector proved difficult to work with, and he apparently wasn't happy with their drummer's drumming. . So they ended up getting other producers.

  • Yeah, I read that too, though these guys were pretty decent about the fact that they thought they and Spector were coming from different worlds. Ha ha did anyone see Vanity fair saying they were from Liverpool, doh. I'm still listening to the rest of their songs, I like them but this song really is my favourite so far.

  • Vanity fair should stay away from music. I ordered their new album so i'll give it a good listen when i get it, supposed to be very good. Silence is easy is my fav album from their other 3. I don't think they get the credit they deserve. Love this song!! So uplifting!!

  • Coldplay? Are you serious? Whoever said that please slap them round the face and proceed to slam their head onto a screwdriver. Theyre nothing alike. Starsailor dont strop their way through a song through moaning and whining. Their songs can also be told apart from each other, whilst a Coldplay album can be like listening to one long session of whats-his-face reading out numbers from the yellow pages.

  • Exactly! Chris Martin put's no soul into his singing, but maybe thats because he's got a shit load of money now, and gwyneth paltrow under his arms :D James Walsh will always put his heart and soul into a track, whether its in a studio, on stage, or just in local pub :D

  • I can still learn to grow! great band ,great song

  • one of the most soulfully painful songs i've ever heard. Uplifting and simultaneously depressing... and i mean that in the best possible sense. Beautiful

  • and now - they are back! what a wonderful band

  • Your right about the accent, I never heard a song from the band until today and first thing I thought was, that must be a Manchester accent - Warrington, close enough!

  • Lol, Starsailor must be one of the only bands from Warrington to make it close-to-big! So don't give Manchester credit :D

  • chorelys finest :)

  • James Walsh has one of the greatest voices in today's music, the Warringtonian accent works soo well in indie tracks, and only BIG things are gonna happen for this band from their next album on. They've always been left underated, maybe cos they emerged as a northern band with qualities of a lot of present indie music at the time, like Coldplay for example. Except Coldplay recieved more acclaim, maybe cos they were southern :D But yeah, Starsailor soo deserve to make it as big as Coldplay

  • true..they grab me as Tim Booth singer of James does... this song is sublime. I always like I've come home when I hear it......pure chocolate velvet x

  • always feel like I've come home - that should !read

  • one of his influences was jeff buckley, and he said that he loved how buckley sang with a ton of emotion on "grace". although i dont think anyone can sing with as much raw emotion as buckley, i still think that the emotion of this song would make jeff proud

  • Is there anyone on this world who doesn't like Jeff Buckley ? lol :D

  • this video is interesting..so many different emotions and feelings and perceptions..

  • I love this song and the band!!!

    Greetings from Mexico.

  • His voice is seriously haunting. I wish I could her him live in concert soon.

  • I meant hear. LOL!

  • I hope you live in London then. That were they play most of the time...

  • Their new album comes out in march 2009. I agree with nihal1983, hope they get the fame they deserve!

  • I love this song so much its boss! =]

  • think i've just about wore the replay button out on this one!

  • sileeeeeence is easyyyyyy ==b

  • Oh my God I love this song!

  • beautiful song, incredible band hope they get the fame they deserve

  • Fantastic song very underratted band bring on 2009

  • These have got to be one of the most underrated bands around. Theyre absolutely superb live. Im Really looking forward to seeing them at the Wulfrun, in April.

The new album will hopefully get them the respect they deserve.

Far better than Coldplay, I reckon.

  • I saw them with The Police - I loved seeing The Police again after 30 years but after the concert it was Starsailor music I bought -even though I'd never heard of them before the concert

  • this video is conventional! i love it!!! and the song's absolutely awesome!!! i can't help hitting the play button again and again!!!

totally agreed, futurism!!! i wonder what i could do to make more people know about Starsailor :(

  • best best best best!!!!!

  • agreed, heard they had a new album coming out, fingers crossed

  • Yup I heard that too. Hope it's true.

  • Yes it's true :)

  • Awesome! Thanks alot for the info ;)

  • That's good news! :D

  • Hey, guitarguy10000

Right on about the video going well with the song. Oftentimes a video totally confuses a song and leave viewers saying "What the hell?"

I LOVE this song. And this video, man, I could watch it over and over and over and...

and listen to James Walsh's voice...so clear and wonderful, yet emitting pain the lyrics state...and those pensive eyes...

Yeah, I'm a girl, and if I weren't married, and if he weren't married, like other girls have stated, I'd snog with him!

  • starsailor sind schon irgendwie cool

  • Now, This is a good match of song and video.

    Directors should study this.

  • guitarguy10000 you are totally right this isnt my favorite song, vbut it goes so well with the video, most of my favorite songs' videos make absolutely no sense at all with the song. good idea or point

  • nice song

  • yeah viva rokel rolo

  • then why the fuck did you come here, comment on something you like instead of pissing other peoples tastes

  • Where your propriety? So of you parents did bring up nicely? Don't give your opinion if only enough you can afford. You are pitiful as your English !

  • Brilliant song and even better live with thoses meanful lyrics.x

  • awesome song from an awesome band

  • Cracking Song!! :D

  • Jaaaaaaames Waaaaaaaaalsh

    Baby.Making.Music.

    :P

  • Very nice to see a video presentation of this cool song. The soaring vocals and top-knotch production of Phil Spector really translates nicely together in fusion. Interestingly enough, I find that Phil's production work with Starsailor (here and "White Dove") is very reminiscent of his string/percussion work done on the Beatles' "Let It Be" album. With this song, the energy and emotion builds and explodes. This is a talented band, incredible underappreciated talent, the whole album rocks. A+!

  • guys they're not new...they've been around for ten years, waaay before athlete, keane, snowpatrol etc

  • I've got a man-crush on James Walsh. Also on David Bowie, but that is quite irrelevant.

  • LOL LOL

    ..and I don't LOL very often ;)

  • this guy looks like ashton kutcher.

Apart from that I like starsailor

  • I love this song it's awsome

  • They're the new Beatles!

  • Aye cos theyre new eh??

  • Es una exageración hacer tal afirmación.

Starsailor es una gran banda, pero muy lejos de ser los "nuevos Beatles".

  • [[[only great]]]

  • james walsh is so cute

  • Anybody know any bands that sound like Starsailor? Love the keyboard solos if u know something similar thanks.

  • i dunno..maybe The Strokes.

  • um... i personally see similarities to Turn Off The Stars, The Verve, Doves, Manic Street Preachers, and even some songs by Athlete, Keane, Snow Patrol or Coldplay - just to name some. Hope that helps! ^^

  • The Killers , about sounds Starsailor n The Killers r similar and so good , so positive

  • i really like this song i dunno what its about lol, but it helped me when i woz depressed

  • einfach nur great... ^^

  • me encanta este grupo que exelente musica tienen y todos sus videos estan como de a 1000 puntos

  • James Walsh - you are superb..

  • girls a wee bit late tho... lol hes married!! hahaha

  • +im glad i like these guys because theyre so ugly

  • some of his strained expressions look like woody harelson. a bit ugly yet cute at the same time.

  • im not a gay or anything but abilities will always be more attractive than being attractive irl
