I was at this festival last summer. To my knowledge, it is still going to continue this summer as well. Are you sure you're talking about the same festival?
I actually saw Bradley Walker with third tyme out in Ft. Payne Alabama a couple of years ago. He sang a few songs and they backed him up...he's good, but he's got more of a country-style voice than one for bluegrass..Nobody could ever sing this song like Moore, but I would never say he was better than Jackson, both can about bring a grown man to tears with their voices!
Well even if he didn't that doesn't mean Russel isn't a good song writer... he wrote Daydreams. He also co-wrote John & Marry. But IIIrd Tyme Out does sing a lot of songs from other people which is fine, 'cause Russel can out sing them ALL!
If you've never heard of Carl, you should check out the trio "Cordle, Jackson, and Salley." They're amazing! Carl IS the writer of this song. And anyone who follows IIIrd Tyme Out should know they write few if any of their own stuff. (how great thou art, across the miles, among many other tunes they do are written by others) and if you check out Jackson's stuff, you'd know only he could write something like this!
I haven't heard of Carl Jackson was something I can't say now and Carl Jackson is without a doubt one of the most beautiful song writers in Bluegrass. Russel can sing this better than Carl can, however, Carl does more song writing and producing CD's than singing. Like he produced Bradley Walkers first CD...he got IBMA Male vocalist of the year 2007. Carl also co-wrote most of the songs on that CD. Check Bradley Walker out he's alright.
Russel Moore's voice is without a doubt the best or one of the best in Bluegrass Music. The writer of this song is non-other than Russel Moore. Look it up if you don't believe me. Or better yet, go to there official website and ask Russel himself (or web admin) lol wither way. Thanks for video post!
By the way, who in the world is Carl Jackson? lawl
I absolutly love this song!! It makes me cry everytime i hear it!! They are playing at the WoolFest in Kentucky Sunday yayyyy!!! I'm going!! wooohoooo
The first time i heard this song, i emailed russell and told him how much i love the song and not 24 hrs later he emailed back and thanked me and told me they really enjoy performing this song. Great music!
I read somewhere that Carl Jackson wrote that song, but it sure is a great one! Its on their live album "Live at the MAC". Bluegrass is always better live!
This is one of the most beautiful songs that I have ever heard. Does anyone know who wrote it???? Thanks Derekisaac for uploading, yes it's a shame you didn't get the entire song but oh well!! :-)
