Again plutonium has but 1 purpose. THe Busheur plant may be supplied by the russians, but how about the countless others, including Natanz. Why enrich uranium when you have no reason to enrich it to weapons grade. The U.S. deposed the democratically elected Shah, resulting in a revolution to depose him and --as is always the case--to input a radical religous nut. But so what; from what I can see so far Iran is looking more and more like Iraq, which I oppose. If you think the threat of nuclear warfare is real then prove they have nukes because both the IAEA and the U.S. report on Iran says they halted their program.

Most of the reports of distrust and secrecy were denied by the IAEA. But the agency said that it couldn't let Iran off the hook completely because it still had questions. The agency stated that Iran did not have an active nuclear weapons program; then there's the NIE report. Then there was the reformist request post-Iraq invasion to disarm Hizbollah and to aid U.S., which Cheney refused.

Iran did accept Russian enriched Uranium for its power plant at Bushehr. The reason to hide the program for 18 years, probably to maintain autonomy in the world arena and have its own energy source and possible nuclear warheads, and don't forget that the world hegemon is Iran's enemy because it intervened in its internal affairs. Both plutonium and uranium could be used to make nuclear weapons. Furthermore, the grand ayatollah is the supreme head not Ahmedinejad.

The nuclear warhead creation would probably be an open venue if it became necessary for self-defense; that's not to say Iranians were developing the weapons. Also, let's see, the IAEA said that they supported Iran's nuclear program in the early eighties but had to stop procedures under pressure from the U.S., not because of any infringements of the NPT. Iran needs self sufficiency; why don't you yell at Pakistan or India, who are non-signatories to the NPT.

It's a clear violation of sovereignty to depose a democratic president who favored socializing Iran's oil. Ofcouse, it'll have blowback. Iran will not dare attack even if they had nukes because of MAD. They'll be wiped off the map; even khomeini is opposed to the nuclear weapons deals and Ahmedinejad is growing unpopular because of his fiery rhetoric.
