my daughter just started jumping off the diving board late last year. i told her some people train to do it professionally. so we ended up on this video and she said "the must train a lot to get that good" and i said "yes they do". she's only 6. she's getting much braver now and not hesitating anymore. congrats on the gold:)

@baktuk2 I've been on my pool's dive team for 7 years, so I'll try and help you out.

What we do is we have lead ups to the dive, for example, we'll try it off the side or the mats. We also use wetsuits so that you get over the fear of smacking. If you want to do a reverse, you start by doing buttbusters. That sort of stuff.

The sync diving event at the Beijing olympics is probably the most entertaining to watch, very fascinating sequences and sync, the Chinese and Russians were kicking ass.

To those that say you can do the same tricks, probably on 1 meter but 3 meter is like an elite class and definately not easy.

ok, ive been diving for 3 years and i still dont know what a rip is so can you tell me? no one on my team knows what it is, its sorta sad, oh and awesome synchro by the way, me and my friend synchro but the best we do is a inward 1 and 1/2 pike and get 6s and 7s on it.

Our third dive - back 2.5 twist, the degree of difficulty is 2.8, the fourth dive is 2.9 DD and the fifth dive is 3.0 DD.

The video was edited, each pair take it in turns to dive, I didn't want the video too go on too long.
