I was fishing for sheep head and a tarpon took my bait witch was crab I was very surprised at this it was a fun fight

I hooked up with a 250pound tarpon he ran 300 yards of line out in 30 seconds before my dad could get the boat going lost him, also hooked up with a 200 pound tarpon with a 10 pound test smallest real on the boat bent the hook out we were fishing for bass not tarpon!

Hey Captain Ben, How is Tarpon Fishing in February compare to other times of the year? I understand it will be harder to catch fish because of the colder weather; but are there still good odds for a productive day in Southwest Florida?

It's very hit and miss. We would have to go up river near the power plant. Depending on weather and bait we could have a great day or a not so good one.

Hey capt. Ben I have caught Snook,Redfish ,and trout. yet still trying to catch a Tarpon. I have had a experience with a Tarpon in Boca Grande a hook up with one and spit out the hook. so I want to bring a Tarpon to the boat. Have you fished key west ?

the only way to land a tarpon on 15 lb test is to chase it down in a boat..i fish for them from the beach so i need heavier gear

Every time I watch one of your videos I am in Awe and then I become sad because I will never have that experience. Biggest fish I ever caught was a 25 pound Striped Bass on a private charter on some Chartreuse bucktails.

Believe it or not some of the species like Tarpon and Goliaths we are not allowed to take them out of the water by law. They are very picky around here. Thanks for the great comments.
