It doesn't bother me when they say they look like little lassies. Lassie was my favorite show as a child, and I think that is why I love shelties so much. I know they aren't collies, but collies are so big. A sheltie is perfect.

Why do some sheltie owners get mad when you say their dog looks a little like Lassie. The face does. A little.

This one guy had a raging fit at me for saying so, but I meant it in a good way.

Shelties are the only dog I like. Before that, I was strictly a cat lover. But the dogs where I worked a temporary job changed my mind.

@vickiormindyb Hello, I got your message and felt bad that the guy yelled at you for saying that shelties look like a little lassie. Yes, shetland sheepdogs are not collies but they DO look a little like them. Shelties are not the same breed as collies, Shelties and collies are not able to take Heartguard for heartworm prevention. they are herding dogs too and tend to herd little children, number 1 reason they are given up. Number 2 reason is they bark alot...

They sure wanted nothing but there mommie dearest, LOL! Boy, they sure have gorgeous coats. A lot of time is put in caring for them... I commend the mommy!
