  • Silver and Gold! :)

  • Please see christmas gifts & ornaments on my channels site

  • I am 50, and while I remember seeing this as a child, it became more important to me when my sons were born in the late 80's and I knew that future Christmas' would include introducing the "new" generation to the timeless Rankin/Bass Christmas specials. Ah, the memories that these shows bring back.

  • corn meal, gun powder, ham hocks and guitar strings.

  • no kidding...gold hit $1500 US

  • OMFG hes gone off Patron !

  • This song fricking scared me. :c dunno why. I was effed up as a child.

You guys may think this is disgusting but i'll say this anyways when I was 6 and used to pick my nose I used to sing this song.

  • This really makes me appreciate the true meaning of family and money. Thanks so much for posting this! Such a beautiful tune, the true meaning of Christmas!!

  • Let us all take over Wall Street and infiltraye Goldman Sachs building! Everybody will have Christmas this year! To hell with the thugs that ripped us off!

  • If you bought silver and gold when this video was posted in 2006, you would be having a Holly Jolly Christmas, this year!

  • The taxman will probably tax Sam the snowman on the precious metals on the Christmas tree.

  • BEYOOOOOOOOOOOOND!

  • this is one of my favorite christmas specials

  • where is this being watched? looks like pretty serious theater

  • is that frosty the snowman's grandfather.

  • BEYYYOOOOOOND!

  • beyond!

  • beyond!

  • this is probably one of the best movies in the world

  • what's the snowman's name!? I need to draw him for a class project

  • Sam the Snowman....

  • @JakedaSnakeda

He doubles as the Michelin man, and Stay puff the marshmallow guy.

  • @JakedaSnakeda Bumble

  • wow this brings back memories. Been trying to find some of the old Christmas specials that used to air on, I believe it was Teletoon. Nostalgia. I remember sitting in the spare bedroom watching the entire series on the 14" TV.

  • Does Burl Ives (voice of Sam the Snowman in the Rudolph special) really play a banjo well?

  • Yes, he did. He played guitar, too. He's from the same area as my mom in southern Illinois. He was well known for playing and singing before he was known as an actor.

  • that snow man looks like my neighbor Clete Vanscoy and the prospector looks like my friend Paul Kokot

  • The snowman looks like one of my uncles.

Actually it is supposed to look like Burl Ives.

  • The snowman looks like Col. Harlan Sanders.

  • Great song! brings back memories. found some other Christmas tunes like this one, some I never heard of before... thebestchristmassongs com.

  • Isn't the main reason Yukon is there is because he's looking for the peppermint mines?

  • ...Other than family...

  • Silver and Gold - the only thing that will be worth anything soon...

  • i love that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you listen to christmas music merry christmas everybody

  • rudolph the red nosed reindeer..

  • Lol, I like how Yukon Cornelius has a pistol on his belt. XD

    Great classic movie though.

  • thank you!merry christmas to you and yours again thank you.god bless

  • Epic.

  • Thats good quality for filming off a screen!

    Thankyou

  • lol, you just spoke the words that the entire movie studios dread.

  • haha, yeah! good quality pirated movies!

  • If you look at the tree after it's done decorating, it looks like it has a face. Doesn't it?

  • I saw this show last night, he's pretty tight

  • Burl ives is sorely missed. HE WAS SUCH A GREAT TALENT-ACTOR AND SINGER. Check out Disney's "Summer Magic" with Burl and Haley Mills.

"Elf"uses Leon Redbone as the snowman. Cute, but not quite the same.Ever notice that the elf costumes in the movie match the ones in "Rudolph"EXACTLY? Buddy's costume matches Herbie's. They borrowed so heavily, that I wonder if Rankin/Bass had to give them permission!

  • I'm 47 and still enjoy watching these classic Christmas shows, this one, Frosty the Snowman. Charlie Brown, Santa Claus is coming to town. It takes me back to bing a child loving these shows.

  • Silver and goweld, silver and goweld.

  • Love This Song!

    (Silver And Gold) Singing

  • Yukon Cornelius, Rudolph, and Hermey searching for Silver and Gold..though really Rudolph and Hermey were just running away from Santa's shop (Rudolph hated being name-called, and Hermey hated being a toy maker).

  • I love him

  • pretty good for a video of a tv, usually these things look aweful

  • @sks409 i dont think you need to see a shrink. anyone who loves the classics has good taste

  • @sks409 Thats funny, tell your 17 year old, that there is a former Correctional Officer who loves this,it takes me back to a time in front of a TV set with my whole family,a time when I thought the world was a good place to live and all people was good.

  • Cuuuutte!! Brownie Points Moe!

  • Ummm, is it really a good idea to be licking a metal pick ax out in the Arctic? :P

  • I am 52 and remember watching this the first year it came out (1964?) I remember watching it with my son when he was young. Some day I'll watch it with our grand kids. This is what it's all about.
