  • Soulman for sure. Wise, passionate, real, love it.

  • 1 person is deaf.

  • It'd be an honor to get yelled at by Joe Strummer

  • Oh, everytime I see Joe it becomes greater and greater...

  • hahahahah!!! great intro...

  • only joe would swear at a punter then appologize to the bonehead. too funny. i miss you joseph you were the best , rudest mate i had (and have).

  • always the same feeling, if joe had spoken spanish or italian... i'm sure he could has reached another level!!

  • I can't stop listening to this song... it is amazing and Joe is a prophet that i will follow anywhere

  • @artvandelay660 don't follow leaders and watch yer parking meters... i think even Joe would advise you to burn your own path.

  • Gosh this gives me chills - Joe is indeed a prophet. This is just JAMMIN. LOVE LOVE IT. I second the call - they should release this on CD. I love this!!

  • DAVES FAVES :: "truth crystallizes like jewels in the rock"

Light one up this weekend of redemption and listen to this one.

Oh, lord... wishing Joe Strummer was still with us.

Sorry about the sound quality... but it's so live

  • There will never be another Joe Strummer. Thanks Joe, for the amazing music you left us with, that will live on forever. You are dearly missed!!!!!!!

  • I'm really sad today. I lost someone that I really loved to cancer last night. This song gives me a little joy. Played really fucking loud. Like annoy the neighbors loud. I don't know why but it's always made me feel good. Bless you Joe and bless you Ruby.

  • sorry the hear that man, Bless them both

  • @cabronte sorry about that!! I really was aiming for the thumbs up. I wish they had a reverse and correct feature in this thing. I am very sorry for your loss.

  • Thank you to you both. I'm touched by your kindness.

  • This song was one of Joe's best.....very powerful! I can listen to this song many times and never grow tired of it.

  • "the truth crystalises , like jewels in the rock".....

  • This is real music.

  • you gotta love how Joe handles the intro of the Vid :)

    RIP.

  • this is my favorite song

  • Incredible musician:)

  • what did the guy shout before he said we've already played that?

    love this song

  • "play 'White Riot'"

  • punk rock warlord

  • Todos los que flipais con Manu Chao, por favor, escuchad esto para ver de donde viene su estilo. Es que en mi opinion el Strummer se lo come y Manu no deja de ser un principiante a su lado.

  • This song is so good....

  • Such an awesome song. Miss Strummer!

  • God bless his soul and spirit. He was a genius.

Why cant there come any artist like him today? I miss him so much!

  • joe was trying different things in the studio but live he always had a hand full of clash songs to do...one thing is he was doing more of the covers that the clash had done with a few strummer/jones songs in there a well....he did rudi cant fail which i never saw or heard the clash attempt to do live themselves thats a shame its such a great tune

  • one of my fav mescaleros song, the band are amazing and joe's just doing his thing, you can just close your eyes and let it take you away.

The start is interesting but really not the point.

    Thanks scotistoxic

  • I miss you, you old wise creative bugger Joe Strummer. Would you and Moses show us a sign from the other side? :-))

  • Comment removed

  • for anyone who thinks the mascaleros was a platform for joe to keep living the clash, his response to the guy who asks for whit riot at the begining says it all. i think this is as good as anything the clash did. check out the performance at the cambridge folk festival. its something else. R.I.P. joe

  • he was short sighted

    that´s all

  • Ah fuck.

I never got to see Joe Strummer live! Of course, I was 9 when he died, but still!

    Damn it!

  • You're not alone..

  • "We all ready played that you fucking lug head"... I dont think its possible for me to love that man anymore than I do now

  • I just looked at The Future is Unwritten. His artwork is used extensively in it. I thought of Lennon's artwork too...their sketches are so very similar. But I always thought he was the next Lennon anyway.

  • if your thinking of the artwork like when 101'ers are playing in d background and there is pictures of them, i hate to say it, but thats not his work.

  • Ahh...so I stand corrected. I guess I was assuming, but he did go to art school, and I've seen a few sketches, so I thought that was his stuff. Apologies!

  • yeah, he was a great artist in all terms, musical, art, literature. if you get the chance, read Redemption Song, the life of Joe Strummer, a great book and so factual and interesting!

  • Thanx 4 the recomendation. I'll definately check that out.

  • The coolest most brilliant manic depressive to have blessed us since John Lennon. Love ya Joe , miss ya much. Lord giveth and taketh !

  • manic depressive? please explain. in the "wilderness years" okay but everybody i think goes through those times. i dont think he was ever "manic", he thought too much for that.

  • He left way to early, he had a lot of rocking left to do.

  • oh i cant descripe how much i love "we already played that you fucking lughead!"-comment :D and then immediately apologizing... :)

  • I know!!! :)

  • he always knows the right thing to say :)

    Love JoE!

  • Is right Joe.

  • Just thanks for sorting this post. I love this song and its a privilege to listen to it live.

  • and there will never ever be ,theres only 1 js

  • these live versions are much better than the Cds they should bring the bridgwater gig out on CD. if they are watching..all the notes he hits with his voices are hit with so much more feeling than the CDs and the musicians are really rocking.

  • So good a reggae riddim by Joe !!!

    Thanx so, brother Joe

  • Love it!

  • WE ALREADY PLAYED THAT, YOU FUCKING LUGHEAD!!!

    rip joe.

  • Isn't it great how he apologizes almost immediately, though? What a guy. I miss him soooo much...

  • yeah, it's pretty funny. what a guy indeed.

  • Oh God, I laughed so hard - and of course, only Joe would apologize after finding out the bloke had been in the khazi...

  • one of the best tracks in streetcore

  • I adore both Joe and this too-rarely-heard song. I miss him and his incredible music terribly. Thank you so much for posting!

  • gotta make a new friend out of old enemies

    genious and true

  • love the comment to the fan before the song. Dishing it out until the end, glad to see it.

  • HE THE BEST NEVER SOLD OUT R I P. JOE YNWA

  • we need to eat, gotta chew it over with our Wisdom teeth... typical Joe. Love you, man.

ha ha- that was the one line he left out!
