Michael, If you didn't use any form of PDA or smartphone would you recommend still carrying a physical calender around? Right now I'm using google calender and if I'm out and someone wants to set a date I just right it in my capture tool and record it into the calender after I get back.
@lavedon Wow can't believe this video is three years old now. Instead of a blackberry I now use a google nexus s I think it is. It syncs with my google calendar. If you don't have a smart phone, then what you suggest is fine. The only problem I see with that is not knowing if you have a conflict or if you get confused on exactly what day of the month you are talking about (since you might not see a calendar with dates on it). Personally, I suggest walking around with as little as possible.
Michael let me give an example of what I mean. When you have Outlook, or what ever program, you can put in next actions with a due date. Or projects with a due date. Or is it better to put those dates in the calendar? Sorry for my English..... :-S
Could you tell me what you would write in your calendar? I thought David said he only putted things in it where he was physical to be. In your video you siad you also put in reminders for some tasks. Could you tell a little bit more?

Anything that you need to know or do on a specific day should go on your calendar.

Anything that I need to know on a specific day goes on my calendar. Things like:
1. Birthdays, Anniversaries
2. Due dates for bills
3. Due dates for next actions or projects
4. Things I might want to know on a specific day
I use Yahoo for my calendar and I put everything on there. You can then schedule an email reminder so you don't forget.
Any action that can be done at anytime, goes on a context list - @calls, @computer, etc.
