Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
I used to listen to her when i was just a toddler in my country. Had i been born here i would have given everything for an opportunity to kiss her magical soul. She is awesome!
I'm with you ortfan and xavier. The releases are long past due as are additional performances and recordings by Miss Sommers who I have followed off and on since the early 1960s.
I was at a dinner show watching her sing in Houston around 1980 & as she came out for the 2nd set stopped & asked me if I was staying for it & I said I was waiting for her to sing she did so well, That's All. So she sang it for me & it was awesome.
I also wish this album would be reissued on CD. I had a vinyl copy back when it was first released and I've always loved it. Lacking a reissue, perhaps someone could post "You Take What Comes Along" from it. That was my favorite track but I haven't heard it in 40 years. She's such a doll.
This was a great LP and should be reissued on CD. Are you listening Sony? Joanie is the perennial breath of fresh air. She can sing anything ... I've been a fan since the 60s. Her most recent work seems to be available only on Japanese CDs but they can be purchased from Japanese dealers. Joanie, you are wonderful!
i too have this lp(also in mono) and i have her 'positively the most' lp...if you haven't youshould post 'girl talk'-fun tricky lyrics-i also saw her live at orange coast college around 2002(costa mesa ca) the 'forever fifties' series
Please post more from this album. I'd love to hear "You Take What Comes Along" again after all these years. It was one of my favorite JS songs back in the '60s. Thanks.

Love this version, adore Joanie, and Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66 do a great uptempo version of this song.

I was able to get a cd with 2 albums by Joanie Sommers from Amazon. One LP was "Positively The Most"and the other was "Softly, The Brazilian Sound".
Amazon also now has a fair amount of Joanie's music available via mp3 download, which was unavailable until recently.

Once in a while I'll run across one of her Warner Bros. LP's but I never see LP's like the one you have here on Columbia.
guitargods2009 2 years ago
I didn't know she'd recorded for Columbia until I spotted this one; it was in great shape, too, for a low price.
