  • Beautifully sung by the man himself. Best singer around. He really knows how to sing a song with feeling and passion as it should be done.

  • Divine his voice brings tears to my eyes

  • JOHN DAVIDSON DID A FAR, FAR SUPERIOR VERSION.

BUT I CANNOT FIND IT ON YOU TUBE.

    PLEASE?

  • nobody can beat his version...dont have words to describe it........just listened to all the available versions but this one is a class apart :)

  • @bhatsarvesh I agree with you .. Engelbert has class ... Great teacher gift

  • Where has he gone ? Is he still around ? Many a singers have sung this song but after Bee Gees , the orignal one , Engee was the best . I wonder Tom Jones ever tried on it ?

  • Better than the original

  • Este sonido es Fantástico, digno de la época y con las que se dinstinguió de otros cantantes... Bien! por EH...

  • All of his songs can bring back our memories, GREAT!

  • I've always loved Engelbert and his rendition of this song is sooooo romantic. I can't help falling in love with him over and over. Thanks a million for sharing this video.

  • Bee Gee's version is still the best , with due respect to Engelbert

  • my favourite is "my way" better than the original by frank sinatra. also my special one is "Love for Love"i hope engelbert goes on forever...ednajoyful..

  • MARAVILHOSO !!!

  • another song that the Enge sings that was written by Barry Gibb was a song called "Sweetheart". Have to hand to all you Brits....alot of good singers and song writers comes from your UK.. There will never be another Enge....so smooth, all his songs make my heart melt and it brings back that Moment in time when it was with the one I had loved. Such good memories. Thanks Enge....your are the best.

  • Not bad; it's always discounted when another singer does someone else' song.

  • cha cha chaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • My fav song ...didnt know Engel sings it that well too !!!...nice. very soothing, very smooth ...love it.

  • best of the best

  • I'm 74 yrs old and he still makes the old heart go pitter-patter. He's better that Frank, Tom and even Dean

  • @TheNoche2000 I agree.He sings everyone's hits and does a great job.He

IS better than Frank,Tom, and Dean ; but not better than

Perry Como.I love Don Mclean's "And I Love You So" and

saw that someone has uploaded Perry's version.I have

to say , I liked it better than Don's OR Regine Velasques's

version, and that's really saying something.

  • @TheNoche2000 - Even better than Dean! Wow. Definitely pitter-patter, I hear you there!

  • i luv this song ....its beautiful!

  • Yes.. Engelbert and the Bee Gees are great friends... They wrote the song "Sweetheart" for him..

  • To all Engelbert fans; please help him get to the number 1 spot in the UK by voting at the WHOPOPULAR website; thank-you

  • mimosa 820

do you know why words can not express the feelings that obssess us when we hear the voice of this king of kings ?

because nobody before him sang like him(except Edith Piaff),and nobody after him can ,even, immitate him.

this is a present from God the Almighty to the people, rich and poor, rulers and subjects, old and young, all to be equal ,onc ,in enjoying one beautiful, real and magical kind of art, which is called the singing of Engelbert Humberding...we are lucky in that..thank you.

  • so wonderfully described. I agreed in full except his name is spelt as 'Humperdinck', not 'Humperding'.

  • Words are not enough to describe his talent and beauty, I just love the way he sings. Just love him. Thanks for posting

  • SUPER..SUPER

  • Wow!

I didn't know EH did a BeeGees song.

Thanks for posting these wonderful songs!

    Debby

  • As sweet as honey ~ love this song sung by EH.

    Thanks for posting!

  • beautiful...

  • lovely

  • ALLEN0955,

Thank you so much for posting this! The Man makes our day, as it were. But what else could you expect from an exceptional voice coupled with sheer physical beauty?

  • Both men were active on the Hit parade in the late 60s-early 70s. Jones continued recording pop standards later and thus continued to be a pop star while Humperdinck recorded ballads and standards. I don't think it had to do with Gordon Mills. Both were superstars.

  • Wccoope

You are about 100% correct about gordon mills and your comments about Tom.

Have you ever heard of Tony Christie.

have a listen another great type in the night of a thousand stars very romantic.

    Danny.

  • Let me start by saying that I am a huge Tom Jones fan--Tom is versatile and no one sings blues, R&B and rock better than Tom. But I am also a huge EH fan, and no one, and I mean no one, including Tom Jones, can sing romantic ballads and love songs like Englebert Humperdinck. His voice is simply superb. He has enjoyed a huge career because of his talent, but if Gordon Mills had spent as much time marketing and promoting EH as he did Tom Jones, EH would have been a super megastar.

  • I like Hump better, but think Tom is a better singer in general. He hits those weird Jack Jones notes but has just as much bottom as Tom - more similarities than differences - especially considering they recorded a lot of the same songs.

  • wccoope,

OMG, the Man has been a megastar long before Gordon could even realise it!!! He's not comparable to TJ because they sing different styles. Both of them are DAMN GOOD at what they're doing and we should NEVER compare them, just like we don't compare an apple with a cucumber, even if we enjoy their taste with an equal passion. We simply like apples AND cucumbers. Likewise, in music, we're not on a football ground, we DON'T HAVE TO choose between X or Y! We can freely love BOTH X & Y.

  • god bless his soul and his voice. more ppl should hear him

  • I remember this gentm since i was 11 , now

I am 52 and still I think he has the best

    voice ever heard

    enric pardo form barcelona

  • enriquepardo1956,

I was 12 when I first heard him and I've stayed an EH fan ever since. I've learned English thanks to him, ca you beat that?!

  • quite a singer; quite a song. winter world of love and the way it used to be are my personal favorites. a great voice, right up there with tom jones and matt monro.

  • Yes I think so too

  • Gosh I remember him singing this maybe in the late 80's early 90's ater his voice grew up. Maybe I should say matured. Thanks for posting it.

  • Beautiful everything, especially beautiful kissable lips!

  • This is a master piece, I love the Bee Gees version too, but Engelbert is simply most beautiful, I never get tires of listening to it. What a voice!!!! Thank God for Engelbert Humperdinck!

  • A voice as sweet as honey, as soft and tender as silk.

  • Is there anything this man can't sing? He makes me feel like a teenager again -- ready for love!

  • Love love his version !!!

    Thanks for posting!

  • i love this song he's truly the best of the best

  • Engelbert sings a Bee-Gee's hit...fascinating !
