@rollin5627 Quite so, it is what it sounds like. I found the original post by Bungie at one point but I lost the bookmark when I had to re-format my hard drive.
The winter was so cold in the Stair of Grief! That our weapos rusted and we had to fight the enemy with our bare hands! Do you know how hard it is to strangle the undead?
@halo3dia I know, that's what I really don't like. Save for the cliffhanger scene at the end, 3 ended on a beautiful note, and both the Flood and Covenant were defeated. Aside from XBLA Multiplayer centric titles, I don't see why they should go on.
It's kinda funny because this tune is the only one (that I'm aware of) already tacked on as a bonus track in one of the Halo soundtrack CDs. However, such a gorgeous melody indeed...
Woah this tune is in every single Halo including Reach and excluding Halo Wars....its from the Myth series that Bungie made back in the day! i remember that shit!
please BUNGie, i'm a brazilian player from myth the fallen lords and myth II soulbligjter, this is the best strategy game I ever played in my whole life, the multplayer system was Awesome, I Loved that ranked game system that bungie put in the game, How I miss myth tfl and myth II , I hope one day bungie make another myth with the same ranked multplayer system, Was the best Game I Ever played online!
Our vanguard has crossed the Scamander unchallenged and remains hidden on the southern bank of the river. Their assault will begin two hours after midnight against Shiver’s right flank, at the same time the Madrigal garrison throws open the Gate of Storms and attacks her from the front.
But I won’t be anywhere near Madrigal when this happens. An hour before the main attack a small group of men and I will head in the opposite direction and strike at the enemy camp alone, hoping to divert forces and attention from the city before the real battle begins.
The plan is to fight our way across a bridge and into the captured village of Comfort. From there we’ll locate the enemy camp and create as much of a diversion as possible.
heck yes! i remember playing marathon on my super old mac that was in my basement and getting the crap scared out of me by the sounds those aliens make!
I remember hearing this for the first time on Halo C. E. I went straight to the keyboard and tried to play it. Took me an hour or so to get it but when i eventually did I was happy =D
this is actually from Halo, it's from Bungie's greatest game ever, myth on the level "the siege of madrigal" listening to this reminds me of the greatest tactital game ever made.
that song has such bad connotations in the myth series you only ever hear it when something sad happens like hordes of the undead completely destroying shit!
this is a classic track from level 3 called The Siege of Madrigal. Its one of O'Donnells favorite pieces, so he likes to leave it everywhere so the future can have a taste of the past.
Hee-hee! That's funny! I know that the "Siege of Madrigal" was Myth: TFL's most liked song.
But my personal favorite is "The Last Battle".
Bungie's Myth series has a funny concept of the war between good and evil.
It wasn't good would eventually triumph, it was a cycle of a thousand years of Light followed by a thousand years of Dark. In the game, you help to break the cycle. If it went the way that it was supposed to, the heroes would have lost and their land would be back in another Dark age.
because the war was nearly finished by then the covenant separatists/united nations space command had won victory and then it was known as the great war and so john-117 is MIA(missing in action) and thel'vadamee and rtas'vadum has returned to sanghelios with the shadow of intent (with ntho'saromee and usze'tahamee)and many forgotten memories(such as the keyes and johnson)kept in there memos
The Fallen Lords was the best Myth game, and that particular track embodies why. Of all the Myth games, Fallen Lords best captured the bleak sense of hopeless determination against the forces of evil in the game's narrative.
And after every battle in the game, when you were given the after-battle stat-sheet listing those who died among your forces (in Myth, every unit was unique and had an individual name), that song was played.
That's strange, my friend has a collector's edition Halo1 soundtrack, and at the very end after the epic climax music, you wait for 10 seconds, and it plays THE WHOLE SONG, not just the opening tune.
No, that's not just the Siege of Madrigal; I think that played everytime you finished a level. God, that brings back memories (Myth:The Fallen Lords FTW!!!). But the Siege of Madrigal was particularly notorious (in my opinion) for being a bitch to beat. You take 18 Warriors and 7 Archers against about 100 Thrall (warriors) and 2 dozen Souless (Archers). And in Myth, unlike most strategy games, you work with what you have. No building.
I love that mission. On the normal difficulty, you could beat it almost solely with the archers, if you were good with your unit positioning. I remember that mission would always rank up my archers with lots of experience and turn them into super-archers for the rest of the game (as long as I could keep them alive, of course).
Демонстрация нового в переносном смысле болта.На текстуры перчаток, костюмов прошу внимания не обращать.Это просто так, а в финалке будет совсем другое...
After you kill the 2 Scarabs (It's 2 if I remember right, I was on legendary), you go up that big ramp and if you get in the right spot, it plays the song.
This is a breathtaking moment, and knowing the history behind the song adds even more sorrow and beauty to the scene. Looking out over the utter wonder of the Ark, knowing that it has to be destroyed, and hearing this sorrowful tune play... Beautiful.
To all of you young ones, the song is from the much much older game by Bungie, Myth: The Fallen Lords and btw I personally think it kicks more ass than the halo series ever did. ^^
In myth: the fallen lords (great game go buy or download it) the narrator is describing how Madrigal, the greatest city of the western empire, is about the engage in a battle for the empire's existence as an army of undead approach it. "the Madrigal garrison throws open the Gate of Storms and attacks her from the front." Go to demonoid if you want to download myth 2, from there you can download myth one onto the m2 engine for free.
this is the recon armor glitch! You need a song and thats it. Then go up to the wall and laser it and a hunter will appear holding recon, myth? my friends done it.
Yeah man, the story behind this song is very very sad, I think his wife was jumped around in a car/accident and the baby died. =( As soon as I heard about it I alllmost started to cry. D= Also, yes this song was made for him.
I did get there and i sleeped and just when i woke up mc said like this:"I'm getting bored of standing here@and i had a sniper so MC did take suicide just cuz i sleeped for 10 hours with my computer on.
It was Bungies first game in 1997. It was a real time strategy game in which you controlled medieval soldiers against monsters and demons. Was a good game.
Not everything needs an achievement. This is for true Bungie fans, those who know of this egg from Halo 1, and those who know of it from the original source.

The Siege of Madrigal
Friday August 8, Otter Ferry
