Since we've already mutilated a fine, passionate work of art with a religious debate, I'll throw my log on the fire:
1. People who cite the old testament have selective amnesia. OH gays'll burn, but it's totally OK to eat shellfish. The difference? One is an easy target, the other would just be too inconvenient.
2. Romans: one line out of hundreds - about how nobody lives up the law, but Jesus saves
3: I Corinth 6 - selective amnesia. This is about lawsuits. No lawyers in MY kingdom of heaven!

@MrBaymedia I believe that if you actually examine the texts in directly translated Hebrew there is no actual reference to "homosexuality" in the story of Soddom and Gommorah only to "sexual immorality". The term homosexuality was inserted somewhere in one of the many times that biblical texts changed hands and were translated and retranslated. This is beside the fact that if I actually believed that Homosexuality was a sin that people could repent from it can't change the way I treat them.
@kahul2 The problem is that in that verse it goes into deeper detail than just "homosexuality". It says that the people of the city wanted to have sex with the Angel(s) of God who was speculated to be God Himself by some. Instead of allowing that, he offered his daughter. In verses of the New Testament, I will agree that there might be some room for error in translation as every verse I read from the New Testament simply mentions the word homosexuality and never goes into greater detail.
@kahul2 But, at the same time, you could be right that they were destroyed for sexual immorality and not just homosexuality. But then how do you explain the verse that speaks of a man lying with another man being an abomination? That certainly does goes into great detail. Sorry to start a discussion, I am open minded on the issue to be honest but am leaning more towards the literal translation I read for right now.
I want to encourage you to stand tall. I am very proud of you. I took that leep of faith and landed in my Lord's arms almost 7 yrs ago now. I felt as though I was living a lie and could no longer live that way anymore; contrary to what I was taught I have perfect peace in my walk with Christ. I am really me now, the whole me...
Does anyone here actually know the Hebrew language? I do not..but I am curious to know if there was even such a word as homosexual back then..probably not..I wonder how correct the translations are? How many translations are there? I am kind of new at this Bible thing . I was told the words in red are the words Jesus spoke..but I dont see anything about homosexuality..but I see tons of stuff about judging others written in red..Maybe I bought the wrong Bible..Which one is right?
@tananario Yep it's right before she disappeared. That whole album was full of bitterness and confusion and to me totally obvious she was struggling with her sexual identity. It was actually a great album!
@alovesgd22 A true Christian does not judge others. It is not your place to do so. Just because she is gay doesn't mean she has lost her faith in what she believes in.
This "crooked path" is not limited to gender development; it happens all the time...and all of us know the pain of this song, the estrangement and hurt. God loves us all....and this is the judgement: the anguish we live in when peace awaits us on a different path.
Her new stuff is amazing! I admire her courage and honesty in coming out. It's on par with what her music has always been: honest and real. It was a little surprising for me to discover that the rumors I have been hearing about her for years were true, but I support her and believe God still loves us, even with all our garbage, seen and unseen.
@raptureready77 you should be happy and supportive of her. You could only imagine what she must have gonne through.
You could say "how heartbreaking that she is a lesbian" (I felt like that with some of my idols in music), but now that she is (a lesbian) and she cant change it, we should be happy for her that she has managed to gather strength and move on with her life.
Gay or not, she is still the same person and God loves her the way that he has made her to be.
I am here to spread the word of Christ, & ask everyone, including straight Christians, to truly become one with God by becoming a Gay Christian. It is our duty to convert u. Christian Gays are the strongest Christians, & will one day take over the ministry of Jesus. Being gay is a spiritual blessing. It puts one closer to God. Like Christ our savior, we have to experience persecution & discrimination, & it only makes us stronger. God is on our side, & anyone who is not shall go to hell
I'm sure her being gay is no suprise to God who Loves her with all His heart. So should we. God is just beginning to use her i believe. It is not heartbreaking...it just is reality, what is heartbreaking is having to keep it a secret for so long . peace
Awesome NEWS!!!! I've been waiting years for Jennifer to come back. I didn't find her till after the Way I Am CD had been out for a couple of years!
Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you DoogeMeister for the info. If I have to drive half-way across the country to see her, then that's what I gotta do! Continue to get the word out and I shall do the same.
MAn, she really is that good!... I strive hard to be like her( sound like her and play like her) but to no avail!...hehehE...there is only but one Jennifer Knapp, THE JENNIFER KNAPP.... wonder where she is now?...
This Video sounds alot like the first release of this song through the gotee website before it was released on the album. I remember recording it on cassette. LOL
What is the name of the song she sings that has a line sowmthing like this, "If I could touch the hem of his garment, I dont know the rest of it but I am dying to find out the name of this song! Thank you!
I was trying to think of what song that is....... The only one I can think of is "Hold Me Now" but that one doesn't exactly have those lyrics. Good luck finding out. If ya find out, please reply and tell me, would ya? I'd like to know what song it is, too. Thank ya.

@stthomas95 That's pretty sexist. We are complete in Christ, not in our partners, whatever gender they are.

Praise our Lord for giving us insight on how to, worship him in whatever way reaches any soul.
Maybe sister Jennifer delivers the highest quality of rock & roll passion, I've ever witnessed.
However,
I got to pray to never forget the holy spirit works through all the brethren.
