  • Translation from mikeymikez blog ^^

Where the river(life or society) flows?

Where the man goes with the flow?

    When he arrives somewhere,

I would like you to bloom like a flower.

Cry more, when you feel sad.

Laugh more, when you feel happiness.

In someday, to bloom a flower in your heart

  • What are your tears shed for?

Where your love goes with the tears?

I hope you will accept these flows as a flower(good memories).

Cry more, when you feel sad.

Laugh more, when you feel happiness.

Someday, a flower blooms in your mind.

Flowers blooming sometimes look like they smile.

On the other hand, people sometimes shed tears.

But all of these are the same natural nature.

Let's have a flower in your heart bloom someday.

  • it has so many versions of it

  • @Akisami

I agree with you, the music originally not from Japan.

  • ii enka no utta desu...daisuki~

  • Satoko is Uchinanchu just as the writer of this song Shochiki Kina is also Okinawan!

    Not a Japanese song.

  • beautiful japanese enka., i love this song for all my life time.

  • It is not "Enka", but the song of Okinawa(Ryukyu) style. Please listen other similar songs, "Shima-Uta" "Nada sou sou" etc.

They are big-hit standard number in Japan.

  • thanks, poconyanpocopoco. I had stayed for few months.,in chiba, japan around 98.

from mongolia., i just fell in love with japanese enkas and other songs., how would you call this kind? till now still i falling in love with japanese song. almost everyday i listen to them to relax down. something just hold me there don;t know what is it..just predict its from my previous life :)

  • It was at the 1970's to fix Enka as the genre, at that time various kinds of world music, rock, usa folk, chanson, influenced on the japanese songs, and the songs with traditional methods came to be called Enka.

The influence by appearance of Keiko Fuji 藤圭子 was so clear, she sang lots of enka with dark, strong passion of women, listen to "Shinjuku no Onna 新宿の女". She is the mother of Hikaru Utada, big pop star known to world comparatively.

  • thanks for your Shima-Uta, it just made me cry. Nada sou sou is awesome song too., i was in love with that aleady :) and the 'Subaru is my favorite too.

  • There is no precise definition, but Enka sings strong feelings kept secret with feature music scale and word rhythm, often various musics unites, listen to "Amagi-Goe""Yozakura Oshichi".

Ryukyu songs also made from its own scale and dialects. In general, recognized the tune of "healing", but sometimes people imagine sad pasts and painful experiences of Okinawa by USA as a nuance, by the way, the writers of 2 songs are not from Okinawa.

  • Shinjuju no onna was my favorite style too..is this enka? that is why i thought i love enka..its my favorite style..wow., i just found Kassai by Chiaki Naomi., and cried again :) angelic! thanks poconyanpocopoco for your information..i think i would keep up seaching jap. music :)

  • I loved Yozakura Oshichi so much, i think i will keep listen to this and Amagi-Goe too., omg., thanks so much friend!! you are giving me such a good time while my heart was broke.,:) guess jap. songs are saving me literally :) big thank for Japanese people who made this unique music!

  • it is just so beautiful <33

  • realy beautyful song!hana can cry and smile.

  • when I was maybe 8 (1988) years old my dad bought a single, he bought it since Ry Cooder performed on it, but I remember sitting and listening to this song over and over and crying. Sometimes my parents would find me sobbing behind the stereo. I sang along and when I grew older (now 29 years old) this song is one of my fondest childhood memories, I still now the words thanks to the IT and I still love it as much as i did all thoose years ago, And it can still bring me to tears. / Sara, Sweden

    mvh

  • the tune in the beginning kind of sounds like the one to "damn it feels good to be a gangster", but luckily the rest of the song does not k

  • calming. nice

  • Soft, sweet, enjoyable and beautiful voice and song.

  • okinawa song!

  • aishiteru

  • where can i download this song?

  • Talk about lost in translation, this is the only music that i

can truly and fully enjoy without understanding one word!!

    It's breathtaking!

  • I posted the translation under Rimi Natsukawa. The song and lyric were written by Okinawan artist, Shokichi Kina. The molody is not purely Japanese and it is some what Okinawan. Okinawa is the southern most prefecture of Japan. It was not always a part of Japan. Okinawa was an independent kingdom until Japan subjugated it. After the WWII, it was taken over by US, then it was returned to Japan in 1972 (I think...I was already in US so I am not sure exactly what year) when Vietnam war ended.

  • I guess you can learn stuff by reading comments too xD

  • Please,someone,where can i get her CD.She could become

Japans answer to goddess Agnetha Faltskog!!!

  • If you know someone in Hawaii, that person maybe able to get you one.

  • This is probably the first Japanese pops single I bought. When I first arrived here, it was a hit, and I just fell in love with Satoko's voice. It still moves me, especially now that i understand the lyrics.

  • Very beautiful love song, a wonderful sweet voice indeed!

  • I sang this with some other American girls on the last day of a camp in which Japanese girls around 16 years of age stayed with us at an institute for two weeks to learn about American culture. The Japanese girls were all bawling by the end of the first verse. ;_;

  • 私がいるを歌っている映像があればぜひお願いします。

  • this is a Japanese song, but remember, it's a Okinawa song.

Okinawa is a southern island on Japan and it used to be a peaceful independent kingdom.

This song carries such a sorrow taste because Okinawa had a dark history behind during WW2.

  • What are the translated lyrics?(english please)

  • you can find it by a google search.

    enter 'hana kina lyrics nakinasai'.

  • thank you very much

  • can anyone send me a link to like a torrent or something?

  • very pretty. love the song ^^

  • Every time I hear this song it reminds me of my childhood in Sao Paulo, Brasil, where my uncle used to sing this song in the karaoke parties. That's beautiful. Have you heard Shokichi Kina's version? "Different", the least you can say, he sings and plays in a raw manner, but still beautiful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GviZZWgFbVw
