I went to boot camp in San Diego back in 1985. They have closed this base now.
Spent 4 years there. What a great city I remember San Diego being.
My daughter was born at the Naval hospital there across from the zoo. All that has been torn down now. Glad I took a lot of photos.

If you go back even further and do more research, the symbol originated as Sanskrit for "change for the better". Hitler used the swastika because of that meaning, because in his eyes, he was creating a "perfect race"...I don't in any way condone that belief, but if you do some hardcore studying, you'll find that tidbit of information.

The swastika is an ancient symbol that has been used for over 3,000 years. (That even predates the ancient Egyptian symbol, the Ankh!) Artifacts such as pottery and coins from ancient Troy show that the swastika was a commonly used symbol as far back as 1000 BCE.
ONE GUY uses it during his romp accross the globe and everybody forgets the long positive history of the silly thing. Get over it.
