Oh yes I've seen those early PALplus testcards. I've also seen an early demo reel. It was probably done by the BBC (lots of british scenes) in HD and then downscaled to PALplus. The pictures looked amazing.

This was a testcard for the PAL Plus system, which uses an aspect ratio of 16 to 9, hence the movie like look.
