Hi. I am a part of paramilitary organisation and sometimes we have to go to forests and be there for 3 days and so on. I usually take some fruits, nuts and so on. But i want some big meals. What you suggest me to take for those big meals that would take 10-15minutes to prepare?
Concentrate tends to mean a lot of the water is extracted at source therefore its CONCENTRATED. Water is then re added or DILUTED before sale, doesnt necessary mean theres alot of additives in the product, it makes transporting a lot easier. Milks ideal post workout, cells are more receptive to replace depleted glycogen(energy) stores as is muscle. Milk contains natural proteins and sugars, avoid full fat milk if your aiming to get lean. semi skimm contains the same Calcium, protein and sugar
@TheF0rtress Like you said in the video you drink chocolate milk after a workout, some people tell me the same thing. People say that after you work out you should drink liquids with protein because it's easier to digest than solids, but i don't drink milk because it's unhealthy, I also dont want to get lots of protein because the average person gets more than enough protein. I eat lots of grains like wild rice,millet,wheat-berry's,quinoa and etc. Do you think eating grains is better aftr wrkt?
@RicoHerwig I've read that too. Another eason for a cheat meal is because if you know you get one you'll be more successful at eating right most of the time.
@Puschen121 What Paul didn't talk about, is the fact that when you have bad eating habits, and your body is in a way more or less addicted to certain types of junk food, your body will tell you bullshit. ^^ However, when you have good eating habits, you can listen to your body without any problem.
These people in the comments have no clue what they're talking about. Lemme just dispel the myth about fruit right now. Fruit has mostly fructose, as most people know. Fructose doesn't need any or hardly any insulin in order to get into the blood cells. People are confusing that processed, bleached, white sugar is the same as fruit sugar. WRONG.
Another myth is that you gain weight from eating fruit. Now look at any fruitarian and see if they are overweight. Exactly. Guys do your research...
@thefortress while drinking fruit juice may be better than say coke, it does still contain a lot of sugar in the form of fructose. So if you're fit, healthy and active sure a glass or 2 / day should be fine but you wouldn't want to drink a lot of it. Think of it this way, how many oranges or apples would you eat in one go?... How many oranges would you need to squeeze to get the amount of 100% orange juice you drink a day?
@JohntheDrumBum aim for a gram of protein per pound of body weght per day and you should be see the difference. It's better to get it from whole sources like meat, fish and eggs than whey powder whenever possible.
I've been told to avoid fruit juices since they are filled with sugar. Sugar causes insulin to spike and when insulin spikes it causes fat cells to shut down the release of fatty acids AND to take up more fatty acids. Obesity in kids is in large part to drinking fruit juices. Pediatricians in the States warn parents against giving fruit juice to kids and call it "liquid candy". I enjoy having 6% body fat to show my muscles and avoiding sugars even natural in fruit juices has helped. Thoughts?
@andy1985jones 100% fruit juices is same as eating fruits. Fruits are quite nutritional and have a good taste. Nothing bad about it, I don't seem to be too obese from them yet.
@TheF0rtress This from a registered dietician: "One or two daily servings of juice can certainly have a place as part of a wide variety of fruits and vegetables in your diet. But don’t be misled: juice is not an equal substitute for solid fruits and vegetables. The benefits of fruits and vegetables are worth the effort of learning to include them abundantly in your meals and snacks."
@andy1985jones I drink a glass of OJ every morning and a glass of apple juice at lunch and again at dinner. That's three glasses a day at least 12oz ... I haven't gained any weight from it. When you workout your body actually needs the sugar.
@88riddlemethis Bodybuilders I know avoid fruit juices because of the sugar spikes. But they told me they use the insulin spike in post workout recovery to get the whey protein into the muscles. But for so many guys the extra sugar is ill timed and not helpful.
Hey dude, i'm 145lbs and 6ft. I've been working out along time and the only thing i've ever used is whey protein and a bunch for chicken and all that jazz. But i've always wondered how much protein, and carbs i should consume. If you have an idea let me know. thanks!
@JohntheDrumBum for carbs, check a mypyramid, for protein, your body only takes and uses approx. 30g of protein at a time, and in one day about 35-45g is good if you exercise for an hour
True thing about that the body says what you want to eat. I was off to a vecation with my family. And didn't work out for a month. I think i ate around 1,5k-2k calories. Which is very little for me. I started working at the gym... Now i eat like 4000-7000 calories a day. My body says what i wanna eat, and im not fat (has been like this for about 6 months). But i do have a very high metabolism compared to all of my friends. And my weight is 65kg if someone wonders :P
@syzygy271 salt is natural, we have a Salt Lake City near here, it's full of salt with probably a mile of salt deposits all around it if not more. Sugar is taken from sugar cane, making it a natural product. Brown sugar is natural, white sugar is not so often. Corn is also natural, although it isn't raised naturally today, it is a natural product, if you're going into how things are raised now-a-days, you will discovered that nothing natural grows anymore. Choc milk replaces lost nutrients :)

@TheF0rtress I know I couldn't be arsed giving context, my bad. I know salt is "natural", but industrial salt and natural salt are very different things. Industrial salt being a product used in processed foods, table salt, and your corn thingies. Corn is the result of agriculture, and isn't a food humans evolved on, much like other crops/grains. Sugar is natural but refined sugar is not, ergo chocolate milk.
1hr-2hrs after you workout? i usually try to eat right away or at least a half hour after my workout. but again i know you said its different for everyone. nice vid.
I wanted to hear something like: I eat this and that in the morning ... so on. Or just an example of what you eat to get your protein... you just can't get all your protein from nuts or oranges. So ... how much meat do you eat ? You take any supplements ?
@Nosferatul18 You have been brainwashed, I do not keep a protein count, I do not count any calories or keep a diet plan. All I eat is what I want to eat, as long as its healthy. I barely eat any meat. Supplements, really???
@TheF0rtress Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I might have been brainwashed. Everyone is telling you how much protein you have to eat if you work out and all that.... all formulas are different, most of them tell you to take insane amounts of protein/amino acids... you know what I mean. That's why I asked. Anyway, nice videos, thanks for the advice :)
hey pavel, i just wanted to say that i'm abit surprised that you put on 2% bodyfat from eating abit of junkfood over two weeks, because your metabolism would be really fast from all the work you do and the age your at wouldn't it?
@TheF0rtress yeah im the same, even though i do calisthenics and im only 17. Id rather stick to a healthy diet anyway, atleast you know what your eating is benefiting your body

@TheF0rsports I don't train with weights, that was my weights class. I took weights class to beat the school record for pull ups, otherwise its not allowed to attempt to do so. During lifting tests in that class, I lifted only a few times throughout the whole year, the rest I just did bodyweight in that class.

I feel like intense cardio won't let me gain any mass. What do you think?
