@formusicplaylist1 don't think for a second Maynard isn't proud of Tool just because he doesn't like to mention it in interviews. I think all the side stuff he's doing centers around tool. Have you ever noticed that Maynard rarely talks about tool unless the other members of the band are there. Im not gonna babble on about the significance of that but I think that's a great metaphor for how he feels about the band and the band itself.

Honestly, I think maynard might be growing apart from tool because when I see his live performances with puscifer and APC he just seems so into it vocally, with tool it seems like he's giving a half hearted performance. Maybe his creative juices are better absorbed elsewhere for a while. I know tool is working on a new album, which is great, but I don't see his live vocals changing in Tool.

@Triangulove i can only somewhat agree! 1. he has clothes on for TooL (not his norm) 2. those songs are vocally challenging(seen him do sober via youtube from last month) and it was not up to par. 3. i think the stage production has a lot to do with it IMO mjk doesnt liek the flashy lights. etc etc. unfortunaley i agree he seems bored witht too :(

Honestly, I think his vocals for most tool songs are mid-range, the vocals for APC are by far more challenging because he reaches octaves (especially on the first apc album) that he had not hit with tool previously. He seemed to do well with most of them during the 2011 apc tour. He seemed into them.
