  • Could you imagaine an interview like this now on US TV?

  • women are complicated creatures that they could role-play the most copmlicated characters...

  • I saw the whole interview last week on Turner Classic Movies. Can you believe that Andersson was wearing white boots like a football cheerleader? And to my knowledge, wasn't that the same kind of boots that one of the female members of ABBA (the Swedish group) would wear later in the 70's?

  • Do you want to know what is the scary thing about Bibi Andersson? Just how much she resembles British actress Susannah York.

  • Funny ... I think she looks a lot like another gorgeous British actress, Susan Hampshire.

  • You should see Kurosawa's 'Rashamon' in which an incident is seen by 5 people all different. Because to me Bibi Anderson looks only like herself and neither like York or Hampshire.

  • Bibi Andersson's work in "Persona" is..from where I stand, arguably the greatest female performance of all time.

  • I felt at a loss when I heard he died. He was older, definetly not a "gone too soon" but I just felt blank when I heard that. I just didn't know what to do or say about that.

  • I felt the same way. He died naturally, and his career was over, but it still felt horrible.

  • Agreed. Bergman has meant more to me than any other artist. My spiritual father.

  • i found myself wishing he could have had a special reprieve from death, the way max von sydow wanted more time from bengt ekerot.

  • where is part 3? has it been uploaded?

  • Only two parts, what I know of.

  • ååÅ! visades på nyhetsmorgon i morse?

  • My favorite Bergman's movie is "Persona"(1966) with Bibi Andersson and Liv Ullmann.

    Both actresses were Bergman's lovers.

  • Man or woman... we have lost a great human being.. Its all about the human being and that feeling of holiness within you.. Yes, the world is empty now, there will be never another close to his spirit.. RIP for you have done your deed..Rest & sleep. Thanks for making those chairs and tables for us and the food we eat..Farewell, Master..

  • The world feels so empty now.

  • Yeah, it does...

  • He'll be missed. Astonishing soul, amazingly deep man.

  • Godspeed and RIP.

  • Bergman could not get away with expressing these ideas nowadays. No judgement intended here.

  • what ideas? that women are brought through upbringing into a position of intensified self-reflexivity (and proportional anxiety), made to found their own feeling of self-esteem on the approval of others? if anything, that in itself is a profound critique and accusation of patriarchical societies. many feminists claim just that.

  • Thanks for responding> You raise valid points but Bergman is not quite that clear or definitive, in this interview, in expressing the thesis that you present. On the contrary, he suggests that woman are innately different - at best, he says: "a woman, by education..." and offers no criticism of that society. Mind you - I take no position here.

  • Farewell, Ingmar. Thanks for all your great work.

  • Bibi Andersson is one of the most beautiful actresses of all time. And one of the finest. Bergman is, as Christs78 says, a true genius.

  • A true Genius !

  • This actress is Bibi Anderson.

  • "Ingmar Bergman is probally the only genius in cinema"-Woody Allen
