thx for your comment, i used x-acto and , a blunt kind of blade that is available in craft stores to teach kids to scratch draw.I use it for the wider scratches to take off large areas of black. Thats about it.
@BboyAandW no technique really, first i outline the figure on the scratchboard and then i expose the brightest parts and then work my way to the least bright parts of the portrait. that is about it. i hope it helps.

ive wroked with scratchboard a lot and im amazed at the detail you get. Great proportons. What tools did you use for it? x-acto? or a wider blade?

Its really hard to make faces on a scratch board without making it look like they have a weird skin disease. Great job :D
