  • my alienware called

    it wants your crysis copy

  • okay the government wants their damn computer back

  • If you look very closely, you can see a Sarah Connor skeleton screaming on a fence.

  • CryPhysics = Unmatched

  • iwish i had this game !!

  • XD why the Trees and Animal not burn up

  • i wanna see one where everythnig starts on fire.

  • i feel like i just survived a nuke after watching that. VERY COOL!

  • Realtime explosion?

  • Those are the strongest palm trees I have ever seen.

  • That was nothing like a nuke.

  • @god0fgod your thinking of like the biggest nukes made, which only have around a 30 mile radius of destruction

  • @PsiloCybinDreamX What about the fact that this game nuke's sound came at the same time as the light? It disappeared in a few seconds? etc.

  • @god0fgod lol what about the fact that this is a game....derp

  • ...and the birds chirp away like nothing happened :)

  • @Zodiacx10 not a single fuck given

  • To make it more realistic you could make a 2nd part where wind starts blowing towards the explosion

  • so any old explosion is now called a nuke?

  • Chuck Noris can do that just with a fart :)

  • great vid, and no troll intended, but wouldn't the leaves also be violently sucked back up towards to epicenter of the nuke (not to mention that it would be on fire and/or disintegrated.)

  • Shouldn't trees and YOU fly away?

  • the flying bugs ruined it! XD

  • That's fuckin epic good job.

  • thumbs up if u thought the palm trees were going to b blown away not sucked in somehow

  • wooooooow

  • So, you drop a nuke on a forest... and the insects still live. That's some good insect repellent.

  • What a lot of people don't know about nukes, is that when it's done with the initial shockwave on the ground, it goes back inward and sucks things into it. So the trees would blow back and then get pulled forward.

  • Drzewa powinny uginać się aż do ziemi

  • That was a really fucking weak nuke.

  • kkkaaabooooooooooooooom!!!!

  • everybody around the explosion: WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT

police man: dont worry chuck norris just farted.

  • you shouldve made the wind so strong the tree look like theyre about to get ripped up. that would be boss

  • thats 1 hell of a fart

  • that was very unrealistic

  • @Actrons

    Thumbs Down This Coment

  • ...shockwave??

  • computer-meltingly beautiful

  • gotta love crysis!

mac? THIS IS PC! *kicks a mac down a hole* >:-3

  • nevertheless i still love minecraft <3

  • i gotta stop farting

  • "Those leaves are just so beautiful!" *KABOOOM* ... "Yeah, whaeva .. man, those leaves, just look at them!"

  • the same card that im have

  • No shockwave :(

  • after all that, the birds are still flying!

  • epic :D

  • MIDGETS FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Do you think I'll be ale to play it this good with

    Intel Core i3 @ 3.00 Ghz

    8GB RAM

    Gainward GTX 460 1GB GLH

    650W PSU

    Please reply! :)

  • @SLIPKNOTSTUFFNO1 you'll be able to play on the highest settings ;)

  • @SLIPKNOTSTUFFNO1 yup, u wil be able to run it very good. is it tripple core or quad core u have( CPU )

  • sorry guys too many breakfast buritos in the jungle :p

  • looks like someone had too much shili

  • omg.... talk about beautiful

  • could make it really windy and alot of foliage in the air. mabye a few shrubs over head and a bigger earth shake

  • this must be modded for god, this looks like some damn good texture modding!

  • @supah1337B Pretty sure that the game is normally like that. It IS Crisis after all.

  • i cant beleive this game i was thinking this things games will be on 2050 omg we are on 2010 what on 2011 were going to see im sure we will see a real world

  • dam yo this is the best graphics, this game eats many computer already and tis made from 2007 WTF i never seen any pc that is 2000$ and under can beat this game at 150fps+ ultra with AA LOLZ wonder whats Crysis 2 o.o

  • who cares about some stupid leafs?

  • Where's the shock wave and why do you immediately hear the sound once the nuke is detonated?

  • What do you think its like having a nuke explode right in front of you?

  • @anbuagent12 does it realy matter

  • I'm still waiting for a game to give us a nuke with realistic effects :c

  • That IS Gooooooooood Fucking Graphics!

  • you know the leaves should've burned technically.....

  • this is what happends when i eat beans... -_-

  • 1. shockwave? 2. birds?

  • OMG my fan is stronger than this shit :D

  • that's a nice mod!

    Good job :)

  • problem- not with the vid but with crysis- the leaves would not slowly move back into place, it would be more violent than the nuke pushing outwards

  • That's the most eco-friendly nuke i've ever seen!!! Not a single tree knocked down =/

  • @DocRoe92 i'd say... the wind is completely off :P and wouldn't there be a massive burst of air headed back towards the nuke, because of the equally massive vacuum that it wold leave behind??

  • not that thats bad but in reality all those plant would be: burned, incinerated (super burned) and the shock wave from a nuke wouldn't just rustle some leaves. it would probly up root them, considering nukelear shoke waves can crush a house.

  • That's the most realistic thing I have ever seen, in video games. The graphics are the best and nothing looks to be 2D like leaves plants etc.

  • very nice! :)

  • wait how exactly did you fix the lighting system to make the leaves look realistic? i remember this was only in the prerelease crysis

  • @nosiriwonthaveapples

You mean the leaves translucency? That is present in medium to very high settings and depedns a lot on sun direction, srength and thickness. That in all Crysis games by default.

  • @VideoTubeStation no, the leaf surfaces have a lot of detail. thats not in the current version.

  • @nosiriwonthaveapples You mean the texture detail on leafs then. Well very high is fairly close but I also have 'Rygels' texture pack for Crysis which adds more texture detail to surfaces.

  • @nosiriwonthaveapples Well I only have Rygels texture pack that adds higher resolution textures to many surfaces in the game and also leafs. Apart from that the rest is vanilla Crytek/Crysis.

  • @nosiriwonthaveapples It is in the current version. Turn up sun specular in the TOD editor. It makes the different shader effects on the leaves show up better than the default dull ones. The originals are dull simply because the specular is very low in the default crysis maps.

  • @nosiriwonthaveapples Crysis natural mod

  • Try t make the wind stronger. In a real nuke they wouldn't just sway so slowly and weakly

  • I've never played crysis but I plan on getting it soon. What language are these mods written in?

  • cool explosion, and how do get the graphics when the the leaves on the tree moves around in the wind??

  • @Andyboi45

It is part of a particle mod I made for Crysis called FXMOD and hosted at Crymod site.

  • How did you get your Graphics so beautiful? ^^

  • @Onslaughtlol

I just tweaked a custom TOD for map a bit changing lighting and colors and nice map layout. Actually it was more of a fast job which took me about 15min! :)

  • @VideoTubeStation Oh, ok. :P

  • wheres the shockwave?

  • how do we even know if crysis2 will have nukes i hope it does for 360 and ps3 i hope the nukes wont have to be mods like only for the pc =[

  • everyone loves a nuke

  • Not those close to it. :P

  • @VideoTubeStation The japanese don't like nukes.

  • The engine is capable of doing the physics calculations for massive shockwaves with stuff flying all over the place. It's simply too demanding for the current CPU's so I doubt we'll see it in any CryEngine game soon.

  • @JeannotvanBerlo123

Maybe if they use the GPU for it it might be more feasible.

  • @JeannotvanBerlo123 well your right!

the unreal engine from unreal tornament 1 (99) has such a strong engine and now our systems can handle it!

if this is what it is now, think about what it will be like in the future!

  • True, a lot of Computing power would be need and the standered and even $2,000 computers these days would still play a realistic Nuke Physics explosion very slowly and choppy. I however do have a $2,000 computer and I have modified the nukes to be much more realistic. Including killing all nearby animals from radiation poisoning. Only causes a little lag too.

  • Games are yet to really represent what a nuke really is. The sound would last throughout the explosion, the cloud would be there for a LONG LONG time, and there would be nothing left standing for a few miles if not more (depending on if it's a mini-nuke or not).

  • Yes it would require enormous computation power to handle all the collisions, physics and rendering of particles and objects. Maybe with hardware around CE5 or 6 will be able to do it very very good without being a science experiment. :)

  • Yeah, I know.

Thing is, with that being a tactical nuke, all it would really do is a strong wind gust, about a half-mile radius gone, and a big smoke cloud that lasts for about five minutes. Current CryEngine technology is more than capable of doing that. Heck, even the FarCry2 engine could do that. A regular nuke isn't much physics, actually. Just a big, fat bang with a buncha dust and obliterated objects reduced to practically nothing. There's hardly any "collision" involved. I'll shut up now

  • Okay.... this is just a game you DUMBASS. How can you expect a game to create a nuke explosion that destroys everything within a few miles?? wouldn't make much sense from a gameplay stand point.

  • I saw a mod which made a nuke with an explosive radius of say, oh around 3 - 5 miles maybe.

  • I can and I will expect a game to nuke everything within some few miles. Think about it. You launch a nuke in the first place, you EXPECT it to destroy the area. Same thing in real life. You don't go launching nukes willy-nilly in real life, so, if a game were to be TRULY realistic, it would cause great damage to the surrounding area. I'm talking TACTICS, my friend, TACTICS.

  • @TDUShelby

Ye I can't understand why game makers make games only GRAPHICALLY realistic... I mean it wouldn't be too hard to make the cloud to last longer and etc.

  • It would also drive the players nuts hahaha! Theres some things i know companies wont go completely realistic on because if its as annoying as in real life they could lose serious sales on the game hahaa.

  • Not necessarily... that would be the reason of a "tactical" nuke. First, you get the coordinates along with the safe distance (accounting for any inaccuracies on the drop) and then call in the strike or detonate the bomb via remote.

    Then...

    BURN BABY BUUURRRRNNN!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!!!

  • @TDUShelby if they made a game with the real physic's of a nuke it would probably need really good a cpu and graphics to run it

  • @gearsofwii

Hee hee hee :D It'd be worth it, though? Right?

  • @TDUShelby Actually, there wouldn't be a sound. Just a flash. And then being thrown backwards by the sudden gust of wind. (I read Hiroshima)

  • @TheEPICtrainrider Well, to be more precise, the sound would probably appear with the gust of wind (assuming you are close enough to the nuke to have the wind hit you at the speed of sound). And the flash would probably heat-fuse your eyes to their eyelids and cause your clothes, hair, and maybe even skin to burst into fire.

A really good look on nuclear bomb blasts and the aftermath is Peter Watkins's The War Game. (on Google Video).

  • @TDUShelby In several accounts from the survivors of the hiroshima/nagasaki attacks, the survivors claimed they never heard an explosion, so many of them just thought it was some type of chemical, like gasoline, dropped over everything.

  • hmm more intense wind, the sound should come a while after the explosion

  • the birds are still flying around as if nothing happnd !

    n_n

  • Nanosuit protected birds! :P

  • Cryengine 2 is being made as a super adaptable engine, it will run on the two powerhouse consoles as well as computers concurrently.

Its also been said that the pc version will be far superior (but that goes with the territory, DX11 and all that)

  • @nirvanadude007 i doubt they gona make it for ps3 its gona be maaaaaad gay

  • CE3-Crysis 2 is a multiplatform engine/game but yes PC version will be far better technically in any API mode. Progess of the tech and one thing is sure and that is that Crytek will do its best to deliver a great gaming experience on all platforms.

  • I believe they already said it is available fo all engines.

  • crysis runs on cry engine your sentence doesnt make sense

  • Powerhouse consoles lol. Power in reference to what? Wii? LOL.

  • @Smood47

Ya, that's what I meant (didn't mean to imply in any way that the consoles are, were, or ever will be as powerful as a modern computer.)

And kirillov, I meant platforms, not engines, haha.

  • Facts Crysis was a PC and always will be a PC game. Why Crytek is lowering their standards for shitty consoles I will never know. Secondly The engine for the crysis that comes out for the PC will be ten times better then the console engine. Hell the CryEngine 2 is gonna be better then the engine for consoles. Its a simple fact fokes Consoles can and never will be as good as computers.

  • CE3 is an improved version of CE2 and thus Crysis 2 will be able to deliver better graphics and better framerate. However consoles will have greatly downscaled effects to adapt to their perfomance.

Just like how in Crysis you can set from low to very high consider it the same in regards to consoels and PC for Crysis 2.

A system from mid 2006 (8800GTX, E6600) is by far faster than any console.

But see by CE3 going multiplatform more devs will use engine, win-win situation for all!

  • hopefully crysis 2 nukes will simulate more of an explosion, ie trees getting scorched and then lifted off the ground by the shockwave, the mushroom cloud billowing into the atmosphere and then darkening the sky causing nuclear rain, that would be epic

  • i thought crysis 2's new engine has crappier graphics cause its coming out on xbox and ps3

  • there is a special engine just for consoles and than the real new engine for PC.

  • CE3 is an improvement over CE2 which will introduce better and more graphic features for PC. For consoles it will scale down just like Crysis has graphic settings.

Though you are right their next true new engine will be CryEngine 4 out in ~2013.

  • @Theplaymaker127

Crysis 2 in a big city---> no big trees except maybe Central Park--> Gay

  • im going to thums up everyone so please tumbs up me!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Theplaymaker127 crysis 2 is going to be in NEW York

  • @Theplaymaker127 And dont forget the mutant turtles!

  • @Theplaymaker127 too bad bro crysis 2 sucks doesnt even have a fucking nuke

  • wow !

  • how come the birds are still alive...w00t

  • Those are insects, but your right, these little bastards should have been pushed away with the wind effect...

  • @Zoza15 birds for sure :D

  • i think those are tha leftover feathers

  • Hey Can you help me?

I've downloaded you modification and extracted the pak file into Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Game and seems not working, the plants doesn't move like in the video... anything more to do?

  • Strange. Try to add to your games shortcut "-devmode" at the end without quotes.

  • In crysis1 are nuclear weapons?

It is strange that I was not found!

  • Yes although not usable by player. In one mission a nuke is detonated. Otherwise nuke tank and TAC gun is for multiplayer. Same weapons also present in Crysis Wars.

  • So in Warhead are?

  • No no nuke IIRC. But Crysis Wars is part of the Warhead package.

  • You really needed to add a bit more wind, dont you think?

  • I didn't put much work into this, actually just some minutes!

But yes wind that breaks of vegetation, heatwaves that pulverise and set things on fire etc. Someday perhaps or for Crysis 2. :)

  • why did the birds didnt die? :O :D

  • They where wearing bird adapted nanosuits!.^^

  • would this game work with these specs? and on what kinda settings

    Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor T4300 (2.1GHz, 800MHz, 1MB cache)

    Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit- English4096MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x2048]

    4096MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x2048]

500GB (5400RPM) Serial ATA Hard Drive

    512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD4330

  • Yes but you'll have to settle for low/medium settings as your graphic card will struggle with higher settings in Crysis.

  • Beautiful BEAUTIFUL game but damn so much graphics in it wont work on my crappy pc..

  • i have a brand new computer with all the right specs and i played crysis for about a month.

ITS F****** STOPPED WORKING ON ME

it crashes before the logo's come up.

think yourself lucky you didnt become an addict like me.

    its soo painful *sigh*

  • FRIKKIN UNBELIEVABLE!!! that was a compliment by the way

  • y r the plants not burnt?

  • Just simple effect. I haven't bothered doing full destruction nor burning effect. Would also be very heavy on the system.

  • Very cool...if you were like standing 20 miles away from the blast zone. In the video though, your distance looks like it should've done more than just rustle a few leaves...such as melt your face off a long with the trees igniting instantaneously and then blowing them away to kingdom come. Still awesome physics.

  • dude the nke cant do that your wearring an extemly high tech super suit

  • Yeah, he would've used the cutscene tool in the editor to blow away, would be awesome.

  • not that much of wind...

  • wow O.o very nice graphics !

  • I believe the wind would have stripped the leaves off the trees and such

  • whats crysis all about?

  • It is a game.

  • but is he in forest to find some shit

  • Its not a simple game....

Its a true master piece of art!

    think!

ThE game is from 2007 and is using depth field...

A LOT OF GAMES from 2008 ARE NOT using Depth Field...But this is complety wrong...So...A game from 2007 beats evry fucking game from 2008 and some from 2009!

  • depth of field makes it have better graphics than every game ever?

  • The 128bit HDRI lighting, texture mapping, shading, procedural animations, velocity per pixel motionblur, amount of obejcts, destructibility... *40 pages of tech info*!

All together makes it pure art coupled with amazing gameplay. This game is unmatched, nothing even touches it, nothing. This game on a technical basis is atleast a gen ahead of anything else. :)

  • it's not the year, it's the work they put in. I know games 10 years old that blow away many of todays games.

This game gives you a lot of bang for the system requirements too. many games now require twice the power but give you half the physics :/

  • how do i go into editor mode when im playing in one of the crysis levels?

  • You need to start Sandbox 2 which is located in the games folder named editor.exe or such. Fromt here you can load any map or create a new one etc.

  • i was imagining that entire forest burnt like match sticks ore something lol. cuz the mushroom cloud looked pretty close O.o

  • Yeah I havent put that much work into the nuke effect. :P

  • wind isn't strong enough..

    needs to be all like

    "......FFFFWOOOOOSHHHHhhhhhhhh......"

as in really strong, really suddenly, as the shockwaves from explosions are at the speed of sound so the wind wouldn't just make the branches flutter.

Still, nice job man, it looks a lot better than nothing happening at all :3

  • maybe the wind could be more powerful? they were just fluttering in the wind.

  • I'm definitively going for this wind effect.

Just by curiosity, in what system, and at what resolutions and filters is this working?

  • This was recorded at 1280x720 to limit FRAPs video file size. However it ran around 40fps at 1440x900 on my E8400 and 4870 512MB with higher than very high settings.

I now have my CPU at 3.6GHz and a 4890 1GB and I get about 35fps at same res and settings + 4xAA.

The wind effect dont really take up much perfomance, barely any for that mather!

  • I should add that the 40fps and 35fps number iswithout FRAPs running as it basically cuts my framerate by half when capturing a video stream.

  • I know, used fraps. A lil trick at least works for me is run it on Task Manager as "Low priority" and set him to only one core. That way the game fits on the other three without major lags.

Solid system you have here. I've heard wonders of the 45nm duals. Air cooled, all?

  • Thanks for the tip! :)

Yes the CPU is aircooled however the stock Intel cooler was bad at cooling even at default speeds so I settled for a Xigmatek HDT963 cooler.

Keeps it at low temps and solid in Intel Burn Test stability test with the Vcore upped from 1.225 to 1.2375.
