Perhaps only Billie Holiday could compare to Janis in terms of conveying raw pain in a song and in both cases you've got to believe that pain was real-would love to have heard this in concert but will have to make do with watching clips of the Monterey Festival
Had this tape on four-track in my fifty-six chevy!must of tracked thru this tape several hundred times.Love big bro and the holding com.Janis Joplin was amazing ,sheer raw power. Thanks for posting
saw you do this killer track at the fillmore and in the front row at Monteray. This is the the most smokin song I've ever heard live Miss you Janis, and i hope the rest of Big brother are all alive, well and mellow.
Wow....... She was amazing. I'm practically speechless. Oh, I've heard this before....but after each time all I can say is ......Wow. Thx so very very much for putting this up. I truly appreciate it.
I saw her in concert at music hall in Cincinnati when I was in high school.I was never so impressed with a performer, not even the Beatles. This is Janis at her best ever.I
Thanks for your screaming guitar James Gurley. Heaven is Jamming this Christmas. Your sound and style will live on for future guitarists forever. You were the inventor of Psychedelia and won't soon be forgotten.
Janis sang like there was blood on the floor after, this is my favorite cersion , the piano player was playing the keys like a drum! Still a great recording, one of my favorite rock recordings of all time
My God probably one of the most explosive expressions of rock and blues ever imagined. A guitar that can fire as hard as Janis sings, fire and pain all from this collection of genius talented musicians. Janis is not performing, she is experiencing, this is how she felt and if anyone could ever love her with the intensity of this song, the moon would surely turn to rubble.
Fucking intro man wow!
